It's not "now" - his LinkedIn states he left in August after 17 years of work. We heard of no upheavals, so no reason to assume things are falling apart or something.

You just couldn't wait to post that could you? Well, nobody else was gonna do it. Just like the news about the novel being delayed to next summer, normally Bioware blog entries immediately make it up here at the forums but not in the case with the novel one. Funny....

Ah, sorry, but you weren't first. Hrungr had already posted it in the Anthem Twitter Thread, the place where Anthem news is actually on topic.

How many different Biofans condescendingly use the term "sweetie" to belittle those that criticize EA? I count at least two. I can admit to thew belittling and for that I apologize. That was cruel and demeaning. However, the issue was not criticizing EA, it was generalization and back-handed insults to the rebuttals that was the reason for this.

I appreciate thoughtful, fact-based, objective criticism of Bioware games. I've done some myself. Are you saying you are posting with that intention, of thoughtful and thought-provoking criticism? Because your posts don't come across like that. I'm not saying you do this, but you have to admit that there is the very real possibility that some people who claim to be posting thoughtful criticism are just being salty, using the forum to vent their -- I don't know, disappointment? Frustration? Sadness? -- because they don't know what else to do with it. Misery loves company and looking for other disappointed former-fans to share their disappointment? And the repetition puzzles me. When I post criticism, I have my say once, one and done. I really don't get the point of saying the same complaint over and over and over and over again, in as many different forums as possible. Even the best criticism of MEA doesn't belong in the DAI forum, am I right? Okay. I don't get your point. I am critiquing BioWare. If I'm not mistaken BioWare is the developer of both games, correct? If both games have the same issue am I not allowed to address them on their individual platforms without being repetitive? Am I missing something? You’re allowed to address whatever you like. My points were: * I am a BW fan that appreciates thoughtful, fact-based, objective criticism. * To the accusation that BW fans ridicule and persecute criticism, I raised the possibility that the ridicule and persecution may in fact be about people being salty, in an annoying, repetitive way. * I don’t understand the point of repetition of saltiness or valid criticism. * I don’t understand the point of criticizing MEA (or any non DA game) in the DAI forum. If you want to point out an institutional problem at BW that affects many games, fine, spend at least 90% of the post on DA games in the DAI forum is all I’m saying. When it’s 90% about MEA, it’s pointless at best, just more MEA saltiness at worst.

I think what it all boils down to is people here just do not like to see Bioware criticized. I remember one of my 1st post here after playing MEA, I created a thread that talked about all the things I didnt enjoy with the game. It was a legit thread with constructive criticism. And the majority of replies I got were like: "Oh great, another complainer...." "Another one of these threads...." "Go troll somewhere else...." Etc So it doesnt matter if it is constructive or not, people herr are just very protective of Bioware and cant stand all the complaints Biowsre has been getting.

One of the first threads I made after playing MEA explaining why I didnt enjoy the game. I was curious enough to go find it. Curious, because, at the time, the vast majority of posts in the MEA forum were anti-Bioware, anti-Andromeda. I would have expected a post about not enjoying the game to get more support than push back. Is this the right one? bsn.boards.net/thread/11178/why-mea-work-meWithout reading any of the replies, the OP itself is consistent with the way you described it. It's not objective, but you made that clear from the very beginning, setting it up as a subjective response. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, and imo, points for being up-front about it. Okay, then I read the replies, all 6 pages. On the whole, I think more original replies (meaning, new people joining the thread) agreed with you more than disagreed. There were even a handful of people who said they liked MEA, but agreed with one or two of your points. Yes, there were a couple of the usual pro-MEA suspects who were dismissive from the start, as well as the usual anti-MEA suspects who were dismissive of the pro-MEA suspects, but every thread has some of that going on. Honestly, as MEA threads go, it was pretty balanced and pretty tame. There are far worse than that, just look for the locked threads.

Why haven't the mods shut this thread down already? Not a bad idea, we're clearly no longer discussing Mike Laidlaw moving on from BioWare. If there are other more topical matters, people are more than welcome to continue those discussions in other threads/sub-forums. So we're done here.
