i don't need those people to exist to feel empathy for them. And depending on which theory of time travel you ascribe too they are still out there, still suffering. All you did was avert that disaster in your timeline. That i just plain disagree with. Inquisition had by far biowares best cast and the inquisitor is a personal close third to Ryder and Hawke for favorite bioware protagonist. I mean, I don’t think your viewpoint is in any way objectively wrong. The topic is highly subjective. I can understand why some people would be horrified by that quest, but I still think it’s not hard to see how a lot of people won’t hold onto that emotion when it’s erased in heir game state. Origins had individualized backgrounds that fleshed out the Warden and Hawke had his family and was probably the most defined of any bioware character. Some people like blank slates and create their own elaborate headcanon for them, but for a lot of people they’re just harder to connect to and invest in. I’m not saying Inquisition is objectively a bad game with a terrible cast, but I think there were changes that do make it harder for a lot of people to have the depth of emotional investment in the Inquisitor and his team that they had in past games. It’s not that it’s necessarily impossible that anyone had a different reaction. I think thats an accurate disposition. And i prefer having some rope but the inquisitor was the best blank slate.

It’s not that it’s necessarily impossible that anyone had a different reaction. I'm proof it's not impossible. The Inquisitor is my favorite Bioware protagonist and I was far more invested in and connected to them than the more predetermined ones like Hawke who is my least favorite. That’s fair. People are never going to agree on the best way to write a protagonist. I’m not trying to present this as more than my subjective opinion. As for what’s favored by the majority, I really couldn’t say. Origins and Inquisition were both critically acclaimed successes, by and large. It seems there’s a big audience for both ways.

Pausable, tactical, rules-based combat. Being able to set up proper Party Tactics again like in DAO and DA2.
The Party Tactics in DAI were borderline useless most of the time.

DA4 should have another decision like "Drink from the Well or not". That was easily the most difficult decision I had to make in any DA game. A really evil setup by the devs, and it also felt perfectly natural.

We need to go to Weisshaupt.
The Inquisitor needs to have a major role, if not be the Player Character Mk. 2.
Deal with the Titan's reveal that dwarves CAN use magic.
Bring back healing spells and Spirit Healer.
Let us use different weapons as long as we meet stat requirements.

Also, it's not just the Role Playing, but the Game parts as well. Replaying Inquisition recently, I was struck by how many pathways actively required you have one of each class in your party (walls, locks, magical barriers), as well as mob encounters. What if I don't care for a particular class' builds, and want to play all of the same of a different class? What if I'd rather avoid enemies altogether? For all of it's flaws, class versatility was one of the things Origins did right, with options for ranged warriors and/or tank rogues and mages. Very much this, please. DA2 introduced cross-class combos and imposed restrictions in an attempt to further differentiate classes. DAI all but forced the player to travel with a party with at least one member of each class. I'd like to have DAO's flexibility restored. Pausable, tactical, rules-based combat. Being able to set up proper Party Tactics again like in DAO and DA2. The Party Tactics in DAI were borderline useless most of the time.
I'd like to take those tactics a few steps further, ala this mod. I always wanted to be able to set up tactics for the entire team, and then watch it play out with no further input from me - and the mod actually supports that. So long as I'm not pushing any buttons, the controlled character will follow the tactics. Fully programmable combat tactics Biower pls.

It's small and inconsequential, but I'd like to see Half-Dwarves and Dwarven Qunari. Also the misplaced Second Moon... if only so I can stop bringing it up and sounding so pedantic.

*snip* Deal with the Titan's reveal that dwarves CAN use magic. *snip* If ever there was an opportunity to introduce a 4th class this is it. Instead of having having dwarves have 2 classes while everyone else get 3, dwarves could have a "Pure" class instead of mage, for dwarves that have gotten powers from the titans like Valta. A background for da4 could be a dwarf from the Sha-Brytol Thaig Valta mentions in her notes sent by her to the surface (spy? Agent?) pretending to be just another surfacer dwarf.

Some minor lore stuff;
Dwarves and Elves should have night-vision as one of their racial traits.
Elves should demonstrate eyeshine, due to their tapetum lucidum.

The tactics system was the one thing DA2 did best. I didn't like DA2, but that tactics system is something BioWare should put in every game. I was so disappointed it wasn't in Inquisition.

Pausable, tactical, rules-based combat. Lol you think you are going to get that with today's Bioware? Whether I think I'm going to get it has no bearing on how much I want it. I don't have Anthem because it doesn't have a pause. I didn't play Andromeda because it didn't have a pause. I demand a pause.

* 2 voice actors per gender for the protagonist * Bodyweight / physique slider. * Spears and halbeards. * More realistic, less flashy weapons & combat. * No enemy level scaling * Return of all races for the protagonist * Puzzles that require brains * Open map, but not open world gameplay * Cassandra * Less - but higher quality combat

Griffons! No.If we go to Tevinter or the Anderfels and find out that griffons didn't actually go extinct, I'm going to slaughter them all and fry their eggs for breakfast. I haven't been walking all over Southern Thedas for three games just to find out that everyone in the setting could have had a flying mount. It'd be The Burning Crusade all over again, and I'm too old for that now. Also, the writers have been shitting on the general competence and judgement of the Grey Wardens for two games now. Animal husbandry isn't the department they need to shore up to get back on their feet in my eyes. It'd be funny to be there when Loghain found out though. "Maker bloody save us. Cailan actually had something right."
