I don't know why I bother taking her shopping....she's too big to fit in the cart, and I can't lift her anyway. So now she insists on "helping" me steer the cart. Too many wrong turns, things put in the cart I didn't want, and going way too slow later, I told her she wasn't helping me. Cue breakdown. Wow...this age!

I also forgot this gem yesterday. *looking out the window sadly* "Mom, put on some sad music. Frosty is almost gone." - The snowman she and her dad built a week and a half ago has been reduced to a puddle of ice.

My son, 4, after strumming his junk like he's playing a guitar: "Dad my wiener just got bigger!!!" Me: Dammit A short time later he runs back in crying, "Dad my wiener got smaller and I don't like it!!!" I lost it and couldn't help but laugh

I have a 9 month old, after reading this thread, I'm not prepared for her to start talking! She does say Da-da, Ma-ma and other cooing sounds, but no actual words yet but she does do some weird and funny things. Her new favorite thing is to put her hands on both sides of my face, look all sweet and innocent and then blow raspberries/spit all over me and then laughs maniacally. She will also do this to our cat, who is just starting to acknowledge her existence, so we'll see how long he tolerates that. I said quite a few inappropriate things when I was younger, like that time I called my dad "the king of the pussies" for pulling the car over to ask for directions, so I know it's going to come back tenfold to me.

I spent several years being ambushed by the twins after they saw those things in cartoons....... kids seem to have an innate knack of swearing when they know you cant reach them (like when there safely strapped into the car seat and your driving) every single one of mine has used cussed in the car, although to be fair I wasn't the one that got excited about it that was their mother (mouth like an old navvie) and she was in the back with them...... ahh those were the days when you still rinse the little buggers mouth out with soap and nobody thought you were wierd for it, cos kids have to be taught to be nice...... but hey it works they swear with their friends but not in front of adults....

I tell you, the being pregnant part or giving birth is piece of cake compared to parenting. But considering giving birth, the first one was terrible. I honestly was shocked afterwards, and was thinking how can it be so awful and why didn't anyone tell me. Hurt like hell and took some 48 hours. The second time was much more relaxed and not that way awful at all. Of course it hurt but I got some nice pain relief so not that bad at all and it was over in 8 hours. The younger girl was having a pee and said "When I grow up, I will have a willie" When I corrected her that she's a girl and girls don't have a willie, she ingored me and said the same again. I said something like "honey, you'll be a bit disappointed but girls don't have a willie, I'm sorry." She then got furious and shouted at me "When I grow up I will have a willie, a big willie just like dad!" XD XD XD

My wife has always been what I would call a traditionalist. A structured individual, while I am sure that chaos is the natural state. Coming up to 5 years soon our oldest learned quickly how to escape the highchair and avoid her mother ducking under the table and saying, "Gone" disappearing down the hall. My wife is considering Discordianism.

I often call my kids The Advocates of Chaos for obvious reasons. Or gremlins, cause while they can be cute, most often they cause a havoc.

"But...but...but...." *snore* yeah but every time I get that I end up getting up because no matter how tired I am I just cant get back to sleep without leaving the bed first.... fortunately i'm not normally a light sleeper so I don't find quite so many occasions as my OH does, not that she ever lets me forget that she's the one of gets up all the time to the kids and yet its me they always seem to love more.....

Children bring so much joy. 💗 My 16 year old daughter just texted me from high school: "I'm sitting in my art class, listening to songs from Lazytown on my iPod. What is my life?" 😁 Earlier this morning, I stepped out of the living room for a few minutes and I come back to my 19 month old holding the Xbox controller and there was a Wiggles video playing on the YouTube app. Mystifying. I left a dvd playing...

I guess we've reached the age where bums are funny.

A few nights ago, me and my family went to a christmas festival that had a few rides...so me and my sister decided to ride this : and my brother jokingly said me and my sister were going to die.....as the ride started and the swings began to rise..My 5 year old niece asked my brother where were me and my sister going..he said " They are going to heaven." ...and my niece replied : " Oh well, no more uncle and auntie."

We were watching the Ancient Assassins show on the Smithsonian Channel yesterday, and when the logo popped up (It's brighter here), our 10 year-old censorship committee pursed her lips and muttered: "Brighter, huh? All I see, it's getting darker and darker." Then she gave us a dirty look and went back to watching her happy show on her laptop. We've been facing a lot of sharp criticism lately for our choices in entertainment.

My four-year-old niece saw Star Wars for the first time last week. Apparently the plot is just too complicated for her, because she kept have to interrupt and ask her dad what's going on.
"Are those real teddy bears?"
"If it's the dark side, why does he shoot LIGHTning?"
"Is that a good guy, daddy?" "That's General Grievous. Look at him. Name a good guy who looks like that."

My daughter has had this little stuffed giraffe ever since she was born. She'll be 4 on Friday. But she has. To. Sleep. With. It. Or else she can't sleep.
She "lost" him twice last night. In her bed. And kept calling me in there to find him. Finally I sent her dad in there.
He was getting stern with her when she said, "Wow daddy, you have magical giraffe finding powers!"
