Personally, I am really really enjoying this game. The graphics on PC at 1440p (with a 1080FTW2) w/all settings set to ULTRA...are nothing short of amazing. I really like all the characters so far (I just played Eos), the story is intriguing and interesting...I"ve even gotten used to how the Nomad handles!
Sure...I could gripe, like I did initially during the Trial for the Nomad...But now I've gotten used to it and don't mind it. But I do think it could be improved, for sure. Yet over all thus far from what I have played I am thoroughly enjoying this game and apart from the OT characters that we've all come to know over the past 10 years being absent--in terms of this game and everything it offers, I think it is equally MASS EFFECT as any other. I like that we have new characters to create and get to know, and I am excited to see where this adventure will go.

The only thing I truly hate about the game is the voice acting (outside of a couple of voices)

I have never understood the problem with that line. Shepard knows that strategy and tactics won't stop them, the war is about survival period. Here's the thing, though, strategy and tactics are how you survive. The very moment Shepard starts thinking about how to approach this war and starts formulating a plan, Shepard is strategizing. Strategy is commonly defined as: "a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal usually over a long period of time"Tactics are commonly defined as: "the art or science of disposing military or naval forces for battle and maneuvering them in battle."
The storyline objectives are based around the strategies formulated by the characters. Example: Primarch Victus's goal is to protect Palaven while at the same time, sparing aid for Humanity. He strategizes that by achieving an alliance with the krogan and securing them as ground forces, the turians will be able to spare aid, thereby allowing him to accomplish his goal. Example: The Crucible itself is a goal. To accomplish this goal, Shepard tries to assemble the various races into a unified alliance as a strategy that is intended to secure enough time for the Crucible to be build and readied. Yes that is true. However people take this line too seriously and out of context. It is simply meant to relay that normal strategies and tactics won't work and survival is the key goal.

I actually feel relieved that other people think the same way lol! I thought I was alone in this. I really enjoyed ME2 because of improvements like the Combat for example. However, the story was a hot mess and felt like a filler episode (like The Walking Dead for example). It was a story that was not required, didn't show the true weight of the decisions that you made in the 1st game and overall I never expected the game's storyline to be like that. As you said Bioware should be praised for making it work, but I feel that this game is nothing like that and really carries over as a true predecessor of the first game. I couldn't disagree more. I love ME1's story but it was short and sweet compared to ME2 and I loved the added complexity of finding crew and such. The underlying story and sub plots were woven together nicely imo.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by normal strategies and tactics? In my opinion, the context dosen't make it any better since Shepard follows up that statement shortly after by proposing a multiracial alliance as a strategy to stand a better chance against the Reapers. Committee officer: "Then...how do we stop them?"Shepard: "Stop them? This isn't about strategy or tactics. This is about survival. The Reapers are more powerful than we are, more advanced, more intelligent. They don't fear us...and they'll never take pity on us."Committee officer: "But...there must be some way."Shepard: "...If we're going to have any chance against the Reapers, we need to stand together."

So MEA is not your fav game ever? That's fine. But I just don't get where all the hate is coming from. The writing is on par with other Bioware games. Seriously anyone acting like ME 1,2,3 were Shakespear compared to this game are delusional. The game looks great. Yes the facial animations are not great but it's not so bad you can't injoy the game. People acting like this game is a mess just baffles me. Maybe not a master peace but def a good game. Not a mess, you said, Clearly this is just fine:

Exactly this, everybody jumped on the hate hype train, because it's the current most popular thing to do, is hate on MEA even tough like, most people who did not or won't even play it will still hate it. No one hated the original ME1-ME3. Perhaps people hate MEA because it's actually SHIT?

You can't call something bad without actually playing it all the way through. It's like saying I don't want to taste that new beer because someone said it is bad. You have to try things out before you say something is bad.

You have to try things out before you say something is bad. To be fair, I think you can. If something is bad, there is no way in hell I am going to play it all the way through. If the new beer tastes terrible, you don't drink the entire bottle.

It's like looking at the labeling and saying nah before even taking a sip.

No one hated on me3 Oh wait, its metacritic user score is only slightly better than MEA's (5.6 to 4.3 for the playstation versions), and people did the exact same Chicken Little impression they're doing about MEA for years over ME3 (herp/derp)

Think about the dlc for ME2, kasumi, zaeed, shadow broker. All of them pretty much plays like a loyalty mission. I bring this up to illustrate that the 75% of the main story could have been broken into dlcs it wouldn't have altered the stories much. To me that's a sign that the story isn't not actually written as a coherent single narrative. More to the point, the game would have played 75% the same if Shepard had been recruiting people to fight Cerberus instead of collectors, or to fight mirandas father, or shadow broker, or to break into a vault. You could swap out collector for anything and the game would be mostly the same. It's in a way easier to write because you are writing 7 or 8 small stories instead of a single large one.

You have to try things out before you say something is bad. You absolutely can if you read enough good books and watched enough good movies.
