FeelsBadMan ugh. Just give me a new Mass Effect JUST LIKE ME2/ME3 but set in Andromeda!!!! How hard was that ?! This right here Pham. Although I don't mind the shitty Grind this time around compared to DAI since combat is fast gunplay with powers. Although I'm only on harvarl. Still the quality diff between ME2 and MEA in writing and content is so painfully bad.

I feel they did an excellent job with the side quests, most of them tie in well with your outpost and storyline. But opinions are opinions, naturally. Well they're well connected to surviving I give you that but they're still tedious and goddamn boring for the most part. The opposite for Witcher 3 where fetch quests were hid wonderfully with small narrative cutscenes. Only real fetch quests in that game were the gear hunts.

the new characters aren't interesting, as is the new writing. SUCKS. So for the overall quest seems ok, but, give me my old cover system back please! and squad ability orders!!!

They're called companion missions and planet viability mission chains.

The character are OK thus far but they are written terribly. The first time you met them it's just exposition dump of their mysterious past. Why not write your characters similar to how sten, wrex or garrus? Information overload leads to people not giving a damn. Also the angaran were introduced poorly and the writing was just bleh on how you first met them.

Be mysterious. Don't say everything so easily. It took Wrex many times before he opened up about his Father. And, he was cool. He was a cool character - written well! Also - they BARELY have a personality. They are more like robots show spew lines and that's it. They don't come across as having a unique personality.

The whole outpost thing is a drag, quest design is unimaginative, and the Saturday morning cartoon writing/logic all over the places. TW3 level side quest? No gonna happen.

Confused. They said we'd be getting quality side content but once again my journal is filled with tedious fetch quests that I have to complete to earn nexus points and get perks to boost my credits and resource gathering........ Seems like they'll never learn. I don't have MEA, but I do know Bioware games. They've never impressed me with attention to detail. It's just not to the level of what CDP puts in. That and quests are kind of related, you know? You have to set the bar high and sink the resources into it. I thought TW2 had a lot of attention to detail, and if TW3 has that and more, then CDP is probably in a class of their own right now. I have TW3 but haven't played it yet. I know, I should be ashamed of myself.

It kinda feels like a Colonization game, not a Mass Effect game. And it VERY MUCH feels like Dragon Age in Space, which I think is taking the ME series in the WRONG DIRECTION!!! Go back to the ME2/ME3 roots and make ME4 in Andromeda just like the previous titles!

Probably the same place as super intelligent squad AI good enough to replace direct squad commands, polished fixed animations and enemy AI, and the DAI CC being ported over

Go back to the ME2/ME3 roots and make ME4 in Andromeda just like the previous titles! Funny thing is that the game fails in the whole colonization theme I feel. It gets kinda lost in the story. The further you get into it, the further the focus shifts from finding a homeworld to stopping big bad. There are weird points, and this may because no real fixed mission order so triggers maybe becoming clumped, where I've gone from "wow that guy is bad. we gotta stop him. can't believe he did that" talks immediately over to "go to this planet and set up outposts or we're all gonna die!" It's almost two games, and it could honestly be fixed by a little bit of better writing at times with better dialogue. Like if the Kett were more directly opposing your attempts and being on your ass, rather than just kinda happening to be in the way which is how they feel at times.

OFGM, I miss Geralt's cynical jokes like 'yeah, what do I know, im merely a witcher! So, pay up!'. The biggest problem for me is MEA's story fail in delivering a believable motivation for PC to do anything. Shepard's mission is to stop reaper at all costs. The danger is well 'shown' not 'told'. Pressure is constantly building up hence, Hence the motivation is well grounded. In contrast, no one really knows WTF pathfinder is and why! So the PC's motivation is empty and pretentious.

Given his rich story (N7) in milky way and potential interreaction with Shepard's team. It will be interesting to establish the whole andromeda initiative through his eye. Current MEA just throw player into a broken story arc with no motivation, no objective and no even a believable 'enemy'. So BW did the whole misunderstood hero rise to power defeat prime evil while fetching 5 goats for the lazy farmer/colonialists thing with Saturday morning cartoon level writing.

But still...

You know, part of what makes a lot of these NPC characters more interesting is the fact that they're NPC's that have fixed personalities and sets of decisions for us to explore. If Alec Ryder was the PC, we'd just have the same dialogue as the Ryder we play now, only it'll just be the old dude. As for the believable enemy, you can't be serious. I mean…..fuckin' reapers, man.
