People are saying that Renegade Shepard acted like a psychopath during ME3 but really, IIRC, each and every one of Shepard's so-called "psychopath" action actually had good justifications, especially considering that Earth is being bombarded by extremely powerful entities.
Viewed under that lens, even acts such as killing Mordin or Wrex or faking Genophage cure can be justified in a way. Shepard's at war where the price of losing is a complete existential erasure for all humans, and he/she is doing it basically non-stop, after all.

If you're talking about Kedara, then perhaps they should have let you confront people freely, but the game should also provide a fail state if you do, since getting kicked out of the port will break the quest chain (and multiple others). I guess they could write workarounds or something, but then you're just sitting on your ship waiting for information? I dunno, but the vault would be pretty inaccessible since the ship can't land outside of the port.

Yeah, it's an outlaw colony, but also one with a way different dynamic. Heck, Ryder & co are not even allowed to venture through the port while armed. Aria only mildly gives Shepard a hard time but doesn't really care what anyone does so long as it doesn't affect her interests, but then she's also capable of killing most everyone on the station if she wanted, so doesn't have to be as concerned about maintaining the power structure of her scum den.

Well, Ryder does have one thing in common with Shepard.
They apparently both have the same dance instructor.

Well, actually I liked Ryder being like this. I mean, he starts a total noob in the most important job; he knows this, people around knows. Most of the dialogue you can choose from at the beginning is built around it. First crew meetings he spouts uninspired sentences, people leave without him allowing. His leadership is awkward and the "renegade" choices in dialogues are shy attempts at being manly. But after settling some outposts and advancing in the plot, he clearly evolves. I find his progress into leadership and beacon of hope more relatable than Shepard's. I was surprised for example, when rescuing the Moshae and tell Jaal to focus on it, I was expecting a passive and weak reminder of our mission, instead he grabs him, stares dead in the eye, and claims "My ship, my crew, my priorites". Badassery out the blue.

I desperately wanted a "piss off" interrupt or option for moshea (sp?). She's all yelling about how I didn't do anything for her people and I'm like wtf are you talking about you crazy ol' hag? I just spent the better part of two flipping days doing every goddamn silly fucking quest for your silly ass people and rescuing you...the only reason I picked rescuing the others instead of burning that base to the ground is so I could bang jaal. Get over yourself bitch. Sadly, that was not an option. Amen, that lecture pissed me off to no end! Care nothing for your people? WTH? I just saved a bunch of them! and you. Whatever get out of my face. Amen, that lecture pissed me off to no end! Care nothing for your people? WTH? I just saved a bunch of them! and you. Whatever get out of my face. Yeah that left me scratching my head a little too. So saving a bunch of your people means I don't care about your people? Is she secretly the reaper's creator? (I'm making machines to kill you so you don't make machines that will kill you) Right? It is like I get your point and all, but there is more then one way to "care for your people". It makes NO sense especially as Jaal is over there arguing in favor of rescuing the people so you really going to tell Jaal he doesn't give a shit about his own people just because he thinks differently from you? It was such a wtf moment. It needed a gtfo interrupt moment.

How about more natural response, like kicking that filthy scavenger in the face with a boot while he crouching there over a corpse? That is the first natural thing to do for anyone in that situation... Probably would put them in place, especially considering Krogan behind Ryders back, but hey! No,no,no, no renegade, no "sociopath", just keel over to everyone you meet, because you playing a smiling 22 y.o. moron without balls who accidentaly happened to be responsible for 20000 ppl in the ark and more on the nexus. So when you see scavengers going through a fresh corpse, you should come and tell them.... that scavenging is bad. Im sure Ryder senior was regretting at that moment for putting helmet on Ryder jr. back on Habitat 7. But seriously, whoever wrote that idiotic dialogue in BW deserves a facepalm.... with a boot... as well as those saying that dialogues in Andromeda are ok. I guess all of you played a goodie two shoes Sheps in original trilogy. Always blue lines, always with a smile, because world is all rainbows and pink unicorn poop.

Renegade didn't make any sense anyway so I'm glad it's gone Yes, because you were forced to pick it, right? Because the way you play the game should obviously be forced down everyone's throats.

What a complete waste. Renegade does not always mean psycho. It means direct and forceful. It means taking the initiative to get the job done, instead of sitting by passively and waiting for events to unfold. Even paragon Shep had more moxy than any tonally shaded Ryder.

The female Ryder delivery of it...she sounded like a damned 4th grader. Seriously, what person would go into the bad part of town, where people are starving and having to fight every day just to survive...and give some cookie-cutter, grade-school lecture to two scavengers about right and wrong? It made NO sense, and in NO way contributed AT ALL to the likeability of that character. I would trade renegade for a little common sense on that one...

I guess all of you played a goodie two shoes Sheps in original trilogy. Always blue lines, always with a smile, because world is all rainbows and pink unicorn poop. Except everything isn't treated like pink unicorn poop because Ryder can kill unarmed/harmless people. If your complaint is that Ryder only has two extremes, be nice and be murderous then that's fine but don't then try to pretend like Ryder is too whitebread for this existence since that's demonstrably not the case. I suppose my real hang up with this isn't with the idea, more with its proponents. Like, I know people enjoy self-inserts and power fantasies but the whole "URGH WHERE'S YOUR T KID?!?" thing going on in this thread reads like a mid-level bureaucrat desperately needing to headbutt a krogan cuz they need a safe outlet for what they want to do to their boss. More middling violence when it's sensible like kicking a scavenger in the face? Sure, why not. Headbutting a diplomat because they dared to impugn on your towering masculinity? No, that's dumb. The only place that flies is power fantasies sans any kind of consequences or internal logic and that's not really the kind of game I'm into.

But really, the Warden was being stupid too. He allowed Shepard and team to remain fully armed, and then warns Shepard before sending a small group of guys to get them from that little bottleneck hallway. Anyway, what kind of quest line are we really looking at in that alternative? The Collective base is in a faraway cave on the other end of the map (I found it totally by accident searching for a surveyor), and the krogan are on a different planet. Seems like a lot of running around just to get the location of a transponder. If you got kicked out of Kadara port, how would you even know there was such a thing as the Collective?
