Reporting in with the following specs: Core i5 750 overclocked at 3.6 GHz, circa 2009 16 GB RAM Radeon HD 7870 Graphics on medium 1080p. I get on average 50-60 fps in outdoor locations, I've seen it go down to 40 fps in combat. Not bad at all... getting a geforce 1060 on monday though, will crank up the graphics and update this to report on how it works out with that CPU. So far it's not bottlenecking or anything, about 50% use during play. The Radeon HD 7879 is roughly equivalent to the GTX 760, right? Or if not, which one is superior? I've looked but there doesn't seem to be a clear answer Hi, according to this very useful website www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html, your GPU is about 15-20% better performing than mine, and RAM is the same (2GB) so overall the performance should be quite similar to what I'm getting. Maybe a bit better because I hear the game is optimized for NVIDIA.

Alright then, so I voted no, and I already highlighted my gripes in the stickied feedback thread, but it can be summed up in 3 words:
EVERYTHING IS CLUNKY!!!

Can we get more options? :-p Love is too strong a word. Did I enjoy it a little? yes. Did I get frustrated much? Yes too.

I got less than 3 hours left from the early access... I hated it, because I need to rush everything on singleplayer. This early access shouldn't be limited to 10 hours for those who pre-ordered the game. Those who preordered should've gotten an extra 5 hours or so. After hitting the gate all I wanted to do was just run around and collect more resources so I could craft and do some R&D before the game comes out Monday night. May have even played some multiplayer too. Kinda agree here, actually I would remove the time limit completely until launch day. It's story locked anyways, and letting people explore what's there and try stuff at their own pace would help them get to like it. The next few hours I have in the trial will determine if I cancel my pre-order or not. So far it's not looking good, more time would help me not feeling rushed and let me appreciate the good stuff more.

I want to love this game, but everything is so clunky!! Off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Movement: It's so weird, there's these slow turning accelerations... movement in say, DA:I felt better.
Aiming/Shooting: The first time I got into combat, I pull out the Predator pistol and start shooting. The thing was not firing half the time, or firing at irregular intervals. That was, mind you, using a controller. Later on I got the Viper sniper rifle (my favorite type of gun), and I was having a really hard time hitting anything... then I switched from controller to keyboard/mouse and it was 10x better. Do I just suck with a controller? How do console players do it?
Scanning: The cursor movespeed keeps changing when using the scanner, it is so annoying... and clunky!! Worse with a controller again.
Cover: Wow the auto cover is hard to get used to. For the life of me I can never get it to work like I want... say I want to lean out to the left to get some shot in, I usually can't do it. Unless I "flip" the hand I use and magically become left-handed. Maybe. Clunky!!!
Conversation wheel: The thing often flickers briefly right before in comes into view...very distracting. Then, with a mouse, I find myself having a hard time selecting the line I want. I try to do it IN the wheel like in past ME and DA games, but it's like it doesn't track my cursor properly, or the "hit box" inside the wheel is too small? Selecting the text itself works okay, but otherwise... clunky.
Interaction button: Why do I need to hold the interaction button to select stuff or talk to people??? Please let me just click.
Scrolling Lists: I have a lot of gripes with the menus, but the biggest one is the scrolling. Do not roll back to beginning when getting to the end of a list!! Especially when selling/buying stuff that you have more that 1 off. I just keep scrolling back to 0 when I want to sell all.

I will play the free trial over the weekend to make my opinion, but from what I've read so far it seems this is a rush job with meh story and bad user interfaces that I've come to hate from Bioware. I will probably cancel my pre-order of the Deluxe edition and wait for it to hit the bargain bin. I'm sorry but I do not pay for half baked goods and companies that don't learn and improve on flaws of past games. And here we have a person that enters the game with negative bias and will probably exaggerate how much he disliked some parts of the game to reinforce that negative opinion he started with. I have negative bias now, no way to avoid it if you read these forums or any other social media. But I will not exagerate anything, I will make my own opinion. If anything, since I now expect something really bad, I could be easily impressed and end up liking it. It's much better this way than walking in expecting the best game ever and being dissapointed and walking out with a bad impression.

Your CPU won't be a problem, CPU specs have been overblown since forever. I have a much older one and I know it will be fine. As long as it's got 4 cores and clock ~3 Ghz, you're okay.
What's more important is your video card, which you didn't provide the specs for.

It's not a choice since I'm playing on PC, it's digital.
Even then, I'd probably go digital if I had the option. All my old DVDs are gathering dust and occupying space unnecessarily. And if in the far future EA goes bankrupt and Origin closes down, the pirate scene will make sure I can still play the game in some form.
I will admit one thing though, and it's that "deluxe" editions of games like ME2 were totally awesome in physical form (that packaging! mini art book! Cerberus card!!). But they don't do them like that anymore, do they?

The guy is probably of the "artist" personality, and likes to feel special by liking things that are not mainstream.
Just tell him it's a great game and he should try it, don't go in the indie vs AAA conversation. If he plays it and likes it, then he's a keeper, otherwise you should move on. :-D

Tac cloak + something for crowd control (omni grenade? conc shot?) + turbo charge if it proves to work well with a sniper gun.
I'll use snipers and pistols, later on assault rifles when I get fitter.
I'll probably have a second profile with tech powers that allow dealing with shields and armour like overload and incinerate, for bosses and super tough enemies,.

Thalandor : My understanding is that squadmates' weapons (maybe armor too) will upgrade as they level up and spend talent points. I think there's a tweet to that effect upthread. So they upgrade, but via a completely different system. The tweet states that weapons will gain in strength as they level up and based on skill selection. Think Bianca in the Dragon Age games, I guess. Minus being able to mod or enchant it. Sigh. Not sure how I feel about that, it looks like more streamlining that hurts gameplay diversity. Thanks for the info though.

Well, that thread exploded.
Do we have confirmation that we will AT LEAST be able to upgrade and mod the weapons used by our squaddies, even if they're stuck with same base weapon model?
In other words, can Cora upgrade Avenger I ---> Avenger V, + lightning bullets mods or whatever ??
BTW, I have no clue if Cora uses the Avenger, it's just for this example.

Yeah, I know. But while looking other options, including the 1060 6GB, the 1070 8G offer that turned up looked too good, especially since the price wasn't that far between them (395 euros with 30 euros cashback). So, I thought that I might actually go for the 1070 model, especially after it's said to be better with DX12, than 1060. So, in general, it's good card then? Yeah I couldn't tell you since I've not been considering it while doing my research because of the price point. I'm sure other people can chime in... If you got a good deal though, might be worth it. I'm sure you know, but if you go for that model make sure you meet power requirements (500W), and it will need an 8-pin PCI-E connector (or 2x6 pin with an adaptor, which probably comes with the card).

I'm back and I need your opinion, guys. I had decided to go with the MSI radeon rx 480 gaming 8g but it turned out to be just slightly too long for my computer case. So, I went back to the drawing board, so to speak, and found an excellent deal of the Asus Dual GeForce GTX 1070 OC 8 GB card. But I would just like to know whether it's a good choice or not? It already goes quite a bit over my budget, so the other 1070 models - which are more expensive - are a no go for me. Today is the last day of that offer, so I have to decide pretty quickly. What do you think? It's a bit of a strange swap you're doing, the geforce 1070 is one class higher than the radeon 480, and much more expensive (like 70% more?). Unless you're gonna be playing at 4k, I'd go for a geforce 1060 6 GB to replace the 480 that won't fit your case. It's also a small upgrade in performance compared to what you were gonna get. Look for EVGA or Zotac models, they've got short ones that are just as good as those mega big video cards with overbuilt cooling solutions that are actually designed for the beefier models. Personally I've decided to get a geforce 1060 3GB to replace my radeon 7870. Since I game at 1080p, the 3GB will be fine. If I were to build a fully new system I'd go 6GB to be a bit more future proof, but I only need that new card to last me another 2-3 years, so I'm going cheaper. hope it helps.

This is another fucking ridiculous decision which begin with unarmed Tempest and Nomad. Is very stupid to have all these armor and weapons for collect by research but your squard mates can't use it! I would like to say you are fired to Bioware/EA employer who did that design decision and sent him deep into Amazon rainforest without much equipment and armed only with small knife! Very good point. I guess I'm gonna research only the weapons my Rider uses. And the 1-2 weapons used by my favorite squad mates I guess? Anyways, looks like a lost opportunity.

A lot of people are referencing DA:I in this thread for the type of machine we will need for this game. Do you guys realize there is a huge disparity between DA:I requirements and ME:A requirements? DA:I's recommended settings are basically ME:A's minimum.
I don't think it's a fair thing to say that the performance of M:A on a given system will be similar to DA:I. Either that, or Bioware/EA are totally bullshitting us with ME:A requirements.

Not changing armour is fine with me, I find playing dress-up with companions too much trouble in DA:I.
Not changing guns is plain strange though. It makes no sense, what we had in ME2/ME3 worked really well, why change it?!
