*preparing to vent*
Why do we have that stupid weapon loadout screen? Or more specifically, why can't I equip my guns on the fly in this game? Ok, we can equip them at the loot pick-up screen, but who wants to stop everything when looting to equip a new gun/mods and figure out weight/cooldowns? And then get stuck with it when you're not happy?
Basically, when I play this game, I collect new guns but I rarely, if ever, try them. Why? Because when I play I just pick up everything with the intent of sorting it out later when I'm back on the Tempest after my current session is done. At which point, I can't unfortunately just slot a gun and try it before I sell it... Sigh.
While I'm playing/questing, if I decide to stop everything to try something new, I would have to go to a fucking Forward Station where it's not very convenient and also if I'm not happy 5 minutes later with my new guns I will have to stop whichever quest I'm on to go back to a fuckin forward station to fix this.
And so I mostly stick to the few guns I know and keep crafting the more powerful versions. Wow, how is that any fun in a game where there's a crap ton of different guns but it's so inconvenient and tedious to try them??? Yes we had weapon loadout screens in ME2-and ME3, but it was a mission driven game, not a semi-open world!!! For fuck sake please make this work like in ME1 or DA:I.

I hope they announce that they'll fix the ugly fem Ryder (make her like pre- day one patch) and fix all the ugly presets in the character creator. Holy hell do the characters look ugly in this game.

That sounds normal? You have a weight limit. You take no penalty until you exceed your weight limit. You take a very large penalty for every unit of weight over your weight limit that you carry. I just had never had my gun weight go from +100 to -47 with the addition of one gun. There is no weigth bonus like in ME3. You are at 100% effectiveness, not +100% bonus. Check carefully how its written in the UE. They badly designed this, it should say 0% penelay when youre at the left of the penalty threshold bar.

When you visit vaults the music is from ME:1 when you were on planets in side quest buildings. When you are in the starmap its the music from ME:1 starmap.
Just sayin.

Good question, was wondering about that myself. Don't have access to the game right now, but maybe worth checking vendors in the Nexus docks. Maybe they sell blueprints for those basic Milky Way weapons, or maybe they sell what you need to make the blueprints (still unclear on how that works in the game, unlocking new research options...)

That's all the powers found under the "Combat" section in the skills page.
It wouldn't count for weapons since they get their own damage mechanic, but all active Combat powers like Concussive Shot and Omni Grenade get the bonus.

I must say I'm enjoying the exploration a lot more in this one than in DA:I. Maybe because the Nomad and fast travel can make you go where you want to pretty fast.
If you feel overwhelmed by fetch-style side quests, my advice is to just ignore everything that's under "addition tasks". Those are all called "Task:...." Stick to companion and area specific missions, those are usually much more interesting. Collect the "additional tasks" only if there is a marker nearby on the way to doing one of the more interesting ones.

I agree about the 3 powers part. With just say, 5 powers, they coulda scrapped the jack-of-all-trades multi-profile system, and we would have been left with a more meaningful build system. Not sure how they would have made it work with a controller, but the current button layout is crap anyways, so there is surely a good way.
Whateva, its too late now

The amount of stuff that not quite working right, without necessarily being game breaking bugs, is driving me nuts.
Stuff like the conversation wheel that often flickers before it appears, the skip dialog that's not working quite right (it often skips Ryder's replys in middle of conversations as if you clicked twice), clicking menu and ending up in a menu you didn't want to go, quest pop-ups for stuff you already completed, hearing banter or e-mails for people you haven't met yet... Like holy hells it's annoying. Do you think they will ever go back and fix that stuff, or just fix the game breaking bugs?
I don't have much experience with early release of Bioware games in the recent years, so I don't know if it's business as usual or what. They seriously need to do one big round of polish, like yesterday.

I agree. In fact, after pre-ordering Dragon Age 2, I told myself: never again!. But then for ME3, on day 1 I had regrets so I ran to the nearest store and bought it. Then the ending happened and I learned my lesson. I didn't buy any DLC and did not buy DA:I until 2 years laters when I got the GOTY edition on a sale for like $20. It was a sad game with bad gameplay and story. A couple good characters like Dorian and Bull, but that's it.
Now for ME:A, I thought I would give Bioware yet another chance. So I pre-ordered the deluxe because I wanted all the gizmos. The result is I'm getting a game that is in an unfinished state and full of bad design. And on top of that they lied about things like meaningful side quests. Whatever, I'll gonna stick to my guns and not cancel the pre-order, but this was the last chance I gave Bioware and they blew it.

Whoever made the facial animation for Lexi when you flirt with her as male Ryder and she turns you off needs a promotion. And needs to work on all the other face animations right now That was so darn good, you could see it in her face "Why the heck is my boss flirting with me and how do I get out of this without getting in trouble." It was that great.

Even though we can have up to 4 profiles and theoretically slot a bunch of different skills, we've only got so many skills points. I don't know how high we'll level up in a single playthrough, but I know that by level 60 we have 100 skill points. That is not a lot. Maxing out a single skill costs 21 points... so by level 60 we can max out only 4 skills with 16 leftover points. Clearly, we will have hard choices to do...
And the highest level achievement is 40 (Peak condition), indicating that we might not level as high as 60 in a single playthrough. And with only 1 skill point per level starting at level 36, its quite the grind anyhow.

You know I'm gonna put this out there since I've said more negative than positives...
Here's what I like the most out of the game so far: Ryder. In these few hours I've played, I've found the protagonist much more interesting than I ever found Shepard interesting. I'm currently playing as Scott, and the voice actor is absolutely awesome. He's a pleasure to listen to and much improvement over male Shepard.

I watched gameplay that goes further than trial and oh boy, I'm getting seriously concerned. Writing is sooo bad... Not talking about story, but everything else, conversations, banter, cutscenes... The game breaks immersion at every corner because of how ridiculous lines are and how bad animations and "acting" is and how lifeless npcs are. I haven't seen a single interesting NPC so far that would stick in my mind and make me want to get to know them better. In Trilogy there were plenty of NPCs who only had few lines but still made a good impression on you either by being funny, having unique personality, being goofy etc... Idk really what to think anymore about this game. If it matters, I felt like you until I met PeeBee and Drack, and until I took the time to go talk to my crew in the Tempest. Then I instantly changed my mind and wanted to know more about everyone... The conversations were quite interesting, but I only got into them after I hit the story roadblock and the pressure to "rush" was off. Don't worry there are plenty of interesting characters in this game, just take the time to know them.

Just caught up on all the latest posts. Thanks for all the great feedback, both good and bad, it's all appreciated! Just one piece of info for those of you running into bugs: if you don't mind, please report them on the Answers HQ website to make it easier for us to track, fix, and patch them. Thanks again! Really looking forward to seeing folks get into the real meat of the game (i.e. not just the prologue) in a few days! Thanks for the link for bug reports, been compiling a few and was wondering what to do with them. Cheers!

I am about 6 hours in, and I am having a lot of fun. However, I am having a LOT of hard crashes, restarting my computer. I have a new Windows 10 gaming laptop and I am considerably above the minimum specs, and also higher than the recommended specs. Other than the crashes, which are rather a considerable inconvenience, I love the game so far and would like to thank the devs. Just hope performance can be improved. *edit deleted comment* nevermind, they put geforce 1060 in large laptops now...

The lighting is off in the Nexus, everything looks like there's an intense spotlight pointing down on it. It washes the colours and textures of the NPCs.
