I think I read something about the originals being lost or damaged somehow so they can't do that. I mean you could always recreate the space only scenes, but the ones where you have to composit the actors? Tougher to pull off. And then there's the cost... The cost would be worth it. But then, I want Stargate SG-1 to be tuned up too, man, I'd love to watch that Blu-ray quality with updated visuals I'd buy it too. But we'd need to convice a couple hundred thousand more people to do the same before they'd be willing to listen

Just be warned, there are some truly terrible graphics in Babylon 5, which can make it very jarring at first. You'll eventually get used to it, and its well-worth getting past season 2 as it gets better every season. I do wish they would do a remaster of it with graphics for the space scenes that do the series justice. I think I read something about the originals being lost or damaged somehow so they can't do that. I mean you could always recreate the space only scenes, but the ones where you have to composit the actors? Tougher to pull off. And then there's the cost...

Babylon 5 and the character's name is Kosh. I need to watch that. But yes, please do. It's an amazing show and if you liked the ME trilogy, you'll love B5. The former stole paid homage to more than its share from the latter.

I'll name my first born daughter "Cersei" in honor of my queen and my second born, "Myrcella" btw. And your firstborn son would be named Joffrey? He's gonna face a lot of trouble in school. That's an understatment. He'll get his head flushed so much his hair will turn permanently blue. And my son Stannis will burn all his books as an offering to the Lunch Lady of Light in return for the extra cheese on Nacho Day that is rightfully his.

She really didn't deserve having the worst bitch in fictional history for a mother. That's the tragedy of all this. The innocents as well as the badass lost, all because of that vile filth of a hag. My Queen of Roses and her would've made such good sisters-in-law. They would've filled King's Landing with light and compassion. Now they do so in whatever passes for Heaven in Westeros.

No, they'd learn how to be loving mothers that wouldn't take any shit from people who threaten the family, ...by being incestuous drunken cunts, responsible for the ruination of all around them, to the point that they give the Westboro Baptist Church power. Got it. Oh and how could I forget to mention directly causing the deaths of her children. Ah yes. "Loving mother" indeed. The only thing Cersei loved was being a twat to as many people as humanly possible without the advent of the Internet. If Tywin couldn't do better, I doubt you could. Time to make that call to Skynet.

Lame. Most examples I can think of are space-fantasy/sci-fi. Star Wars, B5, SC1 era Starcraft...
I'm down with traditional fantasy but I can't think of many examples of universes I really like.
Comic book universes maybe. Though even then I like their cosmic aspects (Silver Surfer/Galactus, Green Lantern etc). I guess Spawn and the Darkness are next up, though the latter I only know the games.
On second thought...
The Books of the Gods by Fred Saberhagen. Retelling of Greek mythology, hinted to actually be a post apocalyptic world of some kind There's a few subtle references to ancient machines and forgotten technology which may or may not be the cause of magic and the gods. Probably the most interesting idea are the gods themselves. They're not separate beings but rather Faces, translucent masks that when worn by a human transforms them into an avatar of the god. So wear the Face of Zeus, you become Zeus. The process is irreversible. When the human host dies, the Face passes to another. The fourth or fifth book travels north and we see the Norse gods too.
Gargoyles- for a kids show it was damn impressive in its inventiveness and depth. Gods, fairies, witches and I liked the Shakespearean influence. Plus the design and rules of the gargoyles themselves are neat.
I like lore that set down its own rules, even if it subverts stereotypes (for example Being Human having daywalking vampires) as long as it stays consistent. I like magic being having rules and some explanations even if the fundamental source of it is still supernatural and unexplained. And I like having all manner of creatures show up that may not necessarily be together otherwise (different pantheons of gods, magical beings from different cultures etc).

I feel like Force Choke is a separate ability from your standard Force Push or Pull. Again, it's a Dark Side technique, the user must feel some level of malevolence to be able to use it with any effectiveness. It doesn't seem to be a particularly difficult or strenuous technique to use since Vader can do it despite missing all of his human limbs (since his cybernetics weaken his connection to the Force), but it's still clearly something that has to be taught/learned. But then the distinction between Light and Dark aside abilities just seems arbitrary. If Dark Side powers are made to harm, maim, or kill, and that's what makes them dark, then you can do all of those things just as easily with nominally "Light" abilities too. Sure, electrocuting someone to death with Force Lightning is bad, but a strong enough Force Push on someone against a solid background can leave a gory smeared mess. I disagree, Force choking is simply regular choking + the Force. I like that in the Force Unleashed it's called Force Grip and the same power you use to chuck crates across the room is the one you use to choke people. It is kind of interesting though how despite his power and his immersion in the dark side at the start of the game, Starkiller never actually chokes out anyone. You can't kill even a stormtrooper by grip alone. You have to use something else to finish the job. Which asks the question: why would a choke be any more "evil" or "dark side" than violently slamming someone against/with a hard object with enough force to shatter every bone in their body? Anyone can choke someone if they have the strength, in this case it just depends on what strength you're referring to. Something being "dark side" or not may come down to how you use it for most of the basic applications of Force powers but it's not a building component of it by any means.

Playersexual (in a meta sense, not "everyone is literally bi") is better in every way, provided it's viewed from the proper angle, namely each playthrough = separate universe. Previous implementations may have been lacking but that says nothing about the core concept.

Careful. I think Child Services would get involved at that point. You'd clearly be indoctrinating them with cruel and unusual doctrines. I would be a model parent, and would teach any daughter(s) of mine that Cersei is a good role model to emulate, and not to be like the smirking whore from high garden. You'll teach them to be incestuous drunken cunts, responsible for the ruination of all around them, to the point that they give the Westboro Baptist Church power? I think it may be in everyone's best interests to call Skynet on you.

What do you mean if? Oh sweet Seb. Well, you may have something there, in that it won't be for "just shock value". It'll be for righteous justice of the highest order. It'll be the most ringing and glorious vindication in the history of television. Take note. You'll have to tell your children about it some day.I would tell them that the show ended at the end of Season 6 but was sadly cancelled, with what came next being unofficial fanwank conjured up by haters like you. Careful. I think Child Services would get involved at that point. You'd clearly be indoctrinating them with cruel and unusual doctrines.

This has been such a contentious series for me. In terms of acting, atmosphere and characters, it is basically unmatched. I cannot think of another series that equals it. But I genuinely hate how Martin and co. kill off characters for what seems shock value at this point. If they do that to Cersei then I'll stop watching the show and throw my GOT blu-rays, GOT funko pops and Bolton shirt into the trash. What do you mean if? Oh sweet Seb. Well, you may have something there, in that it won't be for "just shock value". It'll be for righteous justice of the highest order. Just admit your love for Sith Warrior! I romanced Koth (I HAD to romance the guy who had Javik's voice actor lol)! Koth was Javik? Huh. Respect. He gets a lot of hate on the TOR boards for some reason. Anyway the classic companions may be screwed but I still want Kira, Nadia and Risha back.

That's why I treat KOTFE and on as TOR2. New protagonist, new team. The original 8 galactic heroes fucked off to parts unknown, so my insta60 had to step up. Most of it is decidently unStar Wars and unTORish anyway.

I got myself 30 days of gametime to give it a try. I don't think I'll make it my main MMO (I'm too deep into WoW for that), but it seems pretty good so far, bar a few nitpicks. I have an imperial bounty hunter right now, and will likely make some kind of dark side user as my next character, probably a Sith juggernaut. You said Sith Juggernaut. You have summoned CrutchCricket . He should be by to tell you how awesome the story is soon. And he is right. Warrior is for chumps, real Sith play Inquisitor. Although purely for combat gameplay, Rage Jugg is pretty fun. Throw and leap and one-two crit combos everywhere. Though if it's good story you want, play agent. Perferrably operative. Preferrably female. Dat Jo Wyatt

Anyway, Crusade, the one good B5 spinoff got cancelled just as it was starting to get good. B5 itself was hit with some dick move executive meddling being almost cancelled after season 4, forcing them to scramble to cram everything in to resolve the storylines after which it was magically uncancelled and they had to fill the fifth season with a lot of schlock. It also cost them Claudia Christian who got dropped in the confusion (needless to say neither she nor the fans were happy). Thankfully they still pulled out a win at the end.
