I don't like solos, so I don't do them. But since I usually go right from the lobby into the game, and sometimes no one shows up, I wind up doing public solos. And the one thing I truly hate about this game is how it trolls the solo player. Especially devices on wave 10 in a small map where every device is right out in the open. And the way every boss you kill near the device is spawned right there again. Or how you kite the fast enemies away from a hack, but the freaking ravagers and marauders just camp the hack or device waiting for you. Just really pisses me off.

In a word, lonely. I did a U/U/S to try out a new kit: tursol with revenant/talon, only lvl I stuff, just to get used to it. Got Ghost/Geth, but no one showed up. The lardass Turian lumbered around so slowly, and Ghost has so many enemy crossfires, and geth has so many staggers, that slowly I ran out of gels by wave 8.
I know the objectives are harder in public solos, because only 1 player doing the job, but it does seem public solos are harder than private solos. Can't put my finger on why, but I rarely extract when I host a public silver game and no one shows up. One thing is because I don't equip much stuff for silver, and I'm trying out new kits. But still, it seems harder.

I'm running into a lot of good gold players whose names I don't recognize. I think ME3 is far from dead. Started a U/U/G game, and no one showed up til wave 3. That Jugg was gone by wave 4, when a destroyer showed up. We duo'd to extraction. Long game, but classic. A Drell popped in about 90 secs before extraction LOL. Which platform? PC

Putting all the good advice together gives a really good kit. I took one rank off the Destroyer's missiles to get three ranks of DM, which is all that's needed for the PPR, which I had never used before.
I leave DM off and rely on the Talon for most situations, so I keep the speed and dodge, and only lose the extra missiles. When the bosses are out, DM goes on and the PPR takes over. No problem tanking banshees on the ramps, even a pair of them.
The one surprise is that the DM plus HCB plus AR Amp mod with AP4 ammo makes the PPR TOO strong. Takes the fun out of the game. I switched the AR Amp to pistol amp, and switched the HCB to piercing, and it plays better.
No doubt the typhoon would also be good with this kit. Now my Trooper can go back to a Claymore kit. It's all good. Thanks to all.

There is no replacement for the Brophoon. However, there is a solution to your problem and it's called N7 "Hahaha try to stagger me again" Destroyer. I haven't played the destroyer much, but lately I like him 06666 with no DM. The missile is much fun, and I don't like no-dodge and slow run. Is the Destroyer stagger-immune even with no DM, or is that a feature of DM?

I really like the typhoon for killing bosses, but it's drawbacks just get me killed. Every little stagger or elbow punch is a moment without a weapon, and another ramp up. Fighting a banshee on a ramp is just endless pauses and ramp ups. It's not great up close or fighting mooks. And on host phantoms are a death sentence. I'd like to try something else.
So what's the best replacement with about the same kind of purpose but without the ramp-up? Shotguns don't reach out, except crusader, but too many misses with that one. SMGs and pistols lack the punch. A sniper? That kind of changes the play style. Is an AR the only choice?
What am I missing.

Awhile back I noticed something about semi-auto guns when there is lag. The local computer and host computer mis-connect about the guns magazine load. At least, I surmise. So my wraith would sometimes only fire once, then reload, or it might fire 4 or 5 times before reloading. Black widow too. And other guns, if I paid close attention. But the Wraith worst of all, don't know why. Anyway, great, I thought, 4 or 5 shots is worth the one shot times.
But not so. I have paid more close attention. Recent gold/cerberus game had me shooting 8 or ten times point blank to kill a phantom. This was wraith/HVB/warp4 ammo. So I started paying attention to the magazine. I might fire 5-1-4-4-1 shots at an atlas, and not kill it, but the magazine with 28 rounds would show 5 rounds spent, but an instant later snap back to 28, with no damage done, or 27 with slight damage. Then one round and reload, now down to 26 in the mag. Then 4 shots done and reload, but only 2 gone. Then 4 more shots and reload, but only one gone. Then one shot and reload. And so on.
So my computer was showing me shooting like a madman, but the host was only scoring a few shots made. That is why the wraith was not doing much damage.
I followed that with a solo, and the wraith behaved normally and did a lot of killing as expected. Two shots and reload every time, and a lot of damage done.
Since a lot of PUG games now are with hosts across the world, and I'm starting to pay attention to this, I find it happens even with full-auto guns like H'cane and Eagle. It makes it a lot harder to stay alive in CQC.
Hate to go this way, but I'll have to do more hosting for gold. In silver, it doesn't matter.

I only check their ranks. I don't care if a high rank goes with the kishok off-host with AP mod, because I'm sure the guy didn't start playing yesterday. If s/he wants to fool around, so be it. Now when I see lvls 25 or 15 jumping on gold totally "naked", that triggers me like Chess to a feminist.I'm seeing I'm seeing a lot of that lately in gold. CP<500 one lvl 1 weapon, no consumable, sometimes no gear. One of them I can take, but two or more in the lobby, I'm gone.

Finally a sweet one. my Krosol joined a GIP reapers/Giant/gold wave 2, to find only one player Thekmpeter's asariguard. We duoed the game just as you would wish it to go. Finished with equal kill points. Nice!

My opinion of MA will depend largely on the multiplayer. If MA:MP gets bad reviews from the getgo, it'll be a long while before I even buy MA. I suppose I've been utterly spoiled by ME3:MP, but it's too late now.
