I did the Voeld vault a long time ago. Did other worlds since then, and a lot of Voeld side missions. But whenever I exit the nomad to fight on Voeld, I start to take damage from the cold. That makes it almost impossible to take on the Architect or the Kett base.
So what do I have to do for the temperatures to start rising?

I started with a custom Sara, and I lucked into a young teeny build that exactly fitted how Fryda did her voice. I think Tom's work only suits the default Scot build. That voice coming from my custom Scott just doesn't work.
Of the two, Fryda's acting fit better with the scenes than Tom's did. I think voice acting isn't as easy as it seems.

wait, what shape clue? where are the shape clues? What I noticed in the Elaaden puzzle was faint outlines dividing the puzzle into five shapes with five cells in each. The shape rule was that each shape had to have no duplicates. With that clue, the puzzle could be solved. I don't recall that rule on the Eos puzzle, but maybe I just missed it. The outlines were so faint, I didn't notice it until I couldn't solve Elaaden, and I was looking for something I might have missed.

So I've been in the Elaaden vault for over an hour. Killed every enemy, found all the remtech, found and solved the bonus puzzle, activated both bridges. There's nothing left to do. But still the door to the final chamber is closed.
Once or twice I've found where an enemy gets trapped inside a wall or ceiling and the game won't continue unless that one is found and killed. Or maybe I've done some task in the wrong order. This kind of thing is where this game, any game, gets truly frustrating.
[edit] That was the problem. Backtracked to all the rooms where battles were, and I found one enemy left alive. Killed that one, which opened up one more console, and the thing could be finished. Elaaden was the toughest vault so far.

The first puzzle I noticed for shape was the bonus puzzle in Elaaden vault. That was a very difficult puzzle, and only solvable with the shape clue. It could be earlier puzzles had the shape rule, but I'm pretty sure the earliest puzzles didn't have that rule. If they did, It got completely past me.

I have found four remnant puzzles so far that have two solutions. The game will call one of them a failure, but they both satisfy the rules.
(if anyone has already posted this, my search did not find it. Chalk that up to a really bad BSN search function.)

Anyone know how many memory triggers there are? I have ten so far, and I'd like to find them all.

Starting my second playthrough, and I can't really tell which passives are in effect. I can choose any three powers, but are only the passives of the present profile in effect? Or are all the passives operating regardless of the chosen profile?

Anyone know why the game goes into "building shades" every time I log on? Why does it build thousands and thousands of shades every time? I would think once would be enough. Seems to have started with the patch.

Was in combat (on PC) and I must have pressed the wrong key combination. It brought up what looks like the BioWare command console, freezing the game. I entered "exit" and "quit" and "stop", but those aren't valid commands.
Anyone know the command to quit the console and get back to the game?

Here the thing about the gifs - taken out of context or edited, you can make anything look rubbish. I mean look at the poor animation here - they don't even bother to make her hair avoid her arm, it clips straight through. The sad thing is this merely cartoonish face and body is vastly more expressive than the ME:A characters, and has perfect lip sync besides. It won't ruin the game for me, but it's just sad.

I like the game overall, so far. Maybe I lucked out by creating a custom Sara that matched the qualities of the voice actor. In defense of the actors, I suspect BW cut costs by having the actors read the lines in isolation, instead of together in a scene where they could react to one another. The result is reading, not acting. The Trilogy was so much better, and I suspect it was not the fault of the ME:A actors.
I have to agree with the negative opinions about the character animations, though. There are a lot of lazy shortcuts that are way too noticeable. That seems to be the weakest link in the game, for me. Animations are kind of like the Saturday afternoon cartoons, where only the lips move, or only one person in a crowd moves, and then only one arm. Lazy.
I can tolerate a few "fetch ten of these" missions, as long as they aren't on the critical path.

I disagree completely with all of that.
I would guess from your comments that you have not played very far into the game. I discount your opinions for that reason.
Your comments seem mainly centered on character graphics. Granted, the Sara default is pretty bad. But I made a very nice custom Sara that I'm happy with. And there is a lot more to this game than facial animations.

This learning by trial and error is aggravating. The trailers and YouTube videos show a lot of "you can do this" and "you can do that", but never how.
My current problem is how (on PC) to switch favorites during combat. I'm sure it's really simple, but I haven't stumbled on the trick. Anyone?
Thanks.

On a Special Project mission at site 2, we survived a strong Kett attack, but Vetra died and I didn't notice. After the fight, she was down and could not be revived. The screen shows a large red arrow pointing to her, with a black cross on it. When I return to the tempest, Vetra is there, but when I return to Eos, she is absent and the red arrow is there.
Anyone have any idea how to rectify this situation? Or do I have to reload before the fight and do it again.
Also, the world map (using PC) is uselessly small. The icons all overlap. Anyone know how to zoom in on the world map?
[addendum] The mouse wheel works. Great improvement.
And I had to restore an old save point and redo the combat to get the game moving again. So it goes.....

It's great that tips are already appearing on youtube. Saves endless time searching for the one little thing you missed scanning to complete a mission. And for God's sake can someone please tell me how to zoom in on the map? That tiny little thing covered over with giant overlapping symbols is worthless. I'm sure it can be done, but trying to find that kind of thing in a Bioware game is impossible.

I pre-ordered months in advance. I admit all the bitching had me concerned, but as soon as I customized by own Sara, all that was for nothing. You can make any kind of beauty you want. The animation fails are few and irrelevant to the game. And they'll probably be patched. Move on.

There is plenty of evidence that humans evolved on this planet from apes. I'd rather the devs didn't pretend that isn't the case. Close. Humans and apes have common earlier ancestors and evolved in parallel. Apes are not our ancestors.

Great stories have conflicts and subplots. Given TIM's obsession with advancing the interests of humans, it would be strange if he didn't send an agent or two on the Andromeda mission to promote human interests. And what better agent than a relative? Cora needn't be a daughter; could be a niece. Anyway, a key character promoting human interests would make a fertile subplot and could lead to fertile conflicts. It's all politics and does not have to be in-your-face Cerberus.
It would be a strange plot with no politics, given the hyper-political Council species all trying to advance their own species' interests. ME:A without conflict between the species would not be believable. Give it a chance, people. A vanilla pablum story is uninteresting.

Regarding Cerberus, their true nature might not have been widely known at the time of departure, but that nature existed nonetheless. It would be remarkable if Cerberus allowed this mission to go forward without their agents on board. As a minor plotline, that would certainly add interesting dimensions to the story.

Whatever, as long as I can romance PeeBee over and over. She's the personality I like. First two playthroughs as M and F, then it will depend on whether the play is any different with alternate choices at initiation. If yes, then more playthroughs. Otherwise, Meh.

Exploring is the gravy, but characters and main storyline are the meat and potatoes. If it's like Witcher 3, I've wasted my money. Aimless, pointless time wasters.

ROF on the Turian, because of racial stability (when it works). Nothing will help the Quarksman; don't bother. Take a semi-auto like a saber or talon, and use ROF.
