The game is trolling me. I started an insanity PT from scratch, Level 1, and have clawed my way to level 24 with mostly found weapons and armor.
I managed to craft only one weapon at level 2 recently, because I have found only 2 units of Lithium so far, and need 150 or more to craft a piranha and a carnifex. As far as I can tell, lithium is a random drop, and I'm getting zero. Mineral containers have given me none.
I have almost no useful augments. I researched a couple, but I have found no useful augments in containers.
Most of my credits go to buy elemental ammo and stuff I need to craft armor. Containers have really been disappointing.
It's a tough game with squishy characters, weak guns and meh armor.

Title.
I don't see any new menu item to bring up the character creator for a game in progress. Patch 1.08 is said to have that feature.

Ice queen bitch! First PT on hardcore, ruined my chances with Cora with a quickie with Peebee.
Second PT on insanity, just completed, did everything right. sucked up at every opportunity. Never even looked at anyone else. Still zero warmth from Cora.
Bitch!

My first PT was Normal difficulty, to learn the mechanics. Pretty fun. Second was hardcore, which I enjoyed more. Still, combat was not that difficult; did the whole thing with a Piranha and Ushior. Guns are pretty strong on Hardcore. One thing I liked was skipping "fast travel", and enjoying the banter from teammates in the Nomad. Every pair had their own style. Well done, Devs.
I decided to do Insanity, just to say I did it. And see if I could get Cora to warm up. Tried a scratch NG/Insanity from lvl 1, and hit a wall at lvl 17. Could not advance. Guns too weak, powers too weak, survivability too weak, my stuff wasn't working together, and my playstyle just wasn't good enough. That was a surprise.
So I am half way through NGplus/insanity. Insanity plays very differently from Hardcore. It takes all things working to make headway--guns, powers, combos, augments, passives, movement, strategy. And serious consequences of making mistakes. Everything has to work together. This is everything I hoped the game would be. 10/10.
I still plan to try NGscratch/Insanity. Maybe ignore that Cora bitch though.

Is it really that hard to just hit " again in case you hit it once by mistake? I play the keyboard by feel. My attention is on the screen. I first notice that the character doesn't respond to a key, try it again, then look to see if the console is up. If it is, I have to look down at the keyboard to close the console. Then look back at the screen to see that I just got killed by an anointed. Geez, would it be so difficult to let us assign that function to some other key in the settings menu?

there's no earthly reason we PC players need a button to bring up the command console. That button is right in the middle of the control keys, and can't be reassigned somewhere else. What happens too often is that in the middle of combat, the game stops responding to keys because the console key was accidentally pressed. That is usually not good.
Kindly get rid of it.

I find in some videos they say throw rank 5 duration also primes enemies, but I can't find anything written in the game that agrees.
Does throw prime with duration in rank 5? Will it prime through armor or shields? Will it prime if it doesn't lift the enemy?
I've hit a wall with guns and tech builds, so I have to start adding biotics to the mix. Dang insanity.

I did do it on Insanity, and I think it came down to durability for me, which is why used a Sentinel profile. If I'm not mistaken there were objectives of some type, right? I would hit one of those and then make a break for the interior, throw down a Barrier, warm up, make a break for the next...oh, and the shield consumable. Used a lot of those, as well. My very fist time was brutal because I was a little underleveled for it. I think I'll have to respec for this one. Not looking forward to it. I got this far with mainly gun and tech, but I think the tough final mission on Voeld will need biotics and more combos.

There's a Voeld side mission as part of Know Your Enemy. It's listed as "Kett communication station", but in-game the characters call it "entrance to the kett command center". So I assume it has some significance.
Playing insanity, the station is exceptionally difficult. I can't find any reference to it in walkthrough videos, except at easy difficulty. If anyone has defeated this site at insanity, I'd appreciate some advice.
The first problem is the site is huge. A sniper rifle has trouble shooting from one end to the other. Each side has a high platform shooting down on any enemy, wide defenses guarding the front, and an open rear with reinforcements. A lot of enemies, all with line of site on all approaches. Wherever you assault from, you are in a crossfire.
Each of those four areas starts off with a pair of anointeds and a few others, so they are well protected. Anywhere you park the nomad nearby is in full range and it will soon blow up, so it has to be parked back and you go on foot. That takes time and you are in the open the whole way.
The next problem is there is no warm spot anywhere except inside the main building. That means a long slog in the open against a lot of enemies while your life support bleeds away. If you use a sniper rifle to eliminate the worst enemies, you'll have to give up before you can mount an assault for lack of life support. If you charge in, the pair of anointeds at close range will take you down.
I tried charging right into the building, to take the cold out of the equation. Problem there is that you are in a crossfire and all the enemies from both sides swarm in on you.
I've tried various forms of run and gun, and always can make progress, but always run out of life support before I can get to the building.
Has anyone defeated this site in insanity? I'd sure like to know how you did it.

Yep. I typically run a pistol w/ disruptor and a high rate of fire weapon with incendiary for exactly the reason you said. If I equip the inferno sniper or an equilizer AR, with unlimited ammo, how are the three clips calculated?

I can load special ammo for three clips of the currently active weapon. Can I then change to another weapon and load a different ammo type for three clips of that weapon, at the same time?
I'd like to switch between a sniper with disruptor ammo for shielded enemies and a shotgun with incendiary for armor enemies.
Can I do that?

Perhaps later in the progress of the game when I reach high character levels with stronger guns and stronger teammates. But as it is, there is a plateau after all the vaults on the three planets are done and all the rewarding side quests are done, and still only level 16 has been reached. That means max level 3 weapons, squishy player and squadmates, only a few powers and skills with points and maybe only one or two at rank six. That makes the player and team really weak, against a lot of really strong enemies in tight quarters at insanity difficulty.
At that point in the game, nothing can happen further until you choose one of the really long and difficult missions. Like Save the Moshae or Attack the Kett Command Center. With such low-level characters on insanity difficulty, those are hugely difficult missions. I finally got through the Command Center after two days of many, many restarts, but could not at all get through the second half to Destroy the Core. Now at level 17, I haven't yet found a way to deal with the Cardinal and save the Moshae.
In my opinion, Bioware misjudged their game mechanics decisions for those two missions, at least on insanity. They made those missions way too frustrating for no good reason at all. They should have made it possible to reach level 20 before taking them on, or allowed liberal manual saves during those missions so dying and restarting were not such a burden. I am going on a full week at level 16-17 trying to finish those two missions so I can move on.
I imagine later, when I get to level 30 or forty, I might want to bump up the difficulty at times, but so far insanity is way too difficult at the low levels.
I seriously doubt any player could start the game at a difficulty above insanity and reach level 20. Without cheating.

A build video advises taking Technical Rounds in rank 6 of offensive tech, the argument being that it will add another 30% gun damage to the gun damage of Tactical Cloak and Turbocharge. The sequence would be Turbo->TacCloak->shoot
Does anyone know if it works like this for gun damage? Or does it only apply to tech power damage?

The Remove The Heart mission of Voeld is the worst goddamn piece of fucked up shit mission in the game.
It's extremely long, and hopeless for a level 10 character on insanity, which I finally gave up on. But I have pushed through, with great difficulty, with a level 13 and ushior/piranha kit. What makes it so hard is every time you die, the damn developers put you all the way back to the beginning out in the snow.
So many hours later, I was finally at the last step, go through the door into the hanger. The first time I died. The second time, the door was bugged and wouldn't open, so I had to reload an autosave. When I died the second time, because there are a hell of a lot of Kett in there, I had to go back all the way to the oldest autosave; all the others had a bugged door. Now because I died again, the door won't open at all and there are no more autosaves. I have one manual save that is all the way back to the start of the second half of the mission. So I have to plow through another hour or two of fighting to get back to that fucked up door, with no guarantee it won't fuck up again. And I can't just give up because there is no other way out of the damn room. Unless I just cancel the mission altogether.
This is really a lazy and shitty way to make a game tougher. Pardon my french, but I wasted a lot of damn hours on this one damn mission.

I believe the clock starts without warning. After I saved the uncle from the Kett labor camp, he asked me to deliver something to Techix. There I was informed that it was a map of the Kett command center, and oh by the way, the codes were about to change. The center had to be attacked immediately. So I did.
My accidental mistake was saving the uncle at the beginning of Voeld, so I was stuck with a really low level build and weapons. Better strategy would be to save the uncle much later, when everything was stronger. But who knew?
In my first playthrough, I did not immediately attack the command center, but waited a long time as I leveled up. Then later, no matter what I did, I couldn't find a way into the cave. So I assume the mission timed out.

The game forces an attack on the Kett command center on Voeld early in the game, because the shield codes will change. I waited on my first playthrough and the opportunity was lost. Meaning I'm at a low level, using level 2 disciple and level 1 sniper with weak powers and almost no passives, and mediocre augments and mods, so it's a tough fight on insanity. No problem with that, it's part of the game.
But this is a very, very long mission with a weak character. And no matter how far I get into it, if I die, the game puts me all the way back to the beginning, outside the facility. Over and over and over. I like the game, but that is not part of the game, that is the developers trolling the player.

I'm starting my third play, going for insanity. The graphics are so improved I'm going with default Sara/Scott. Haven't decided. Still haven't gotten to the real ending--They hide those memory triggers too well. And there's a lot of banter in the nomad I haven't heard yet.
I started out liking the game; now I like it a lot. Looking forward to multiplayer.

For my money, Xaine's World has the best weapon analyses videos on youtube. He recently recommended stacking four plasma charge augments on the Ushior pistol (tongue in cheek?).
Anyone know if augments can be stacked like that?

Do unfound memory triggers disappear? I have one to go, and now that I've done the Meridian City (not the Sphere) and Sara is awake, I can't find the last one. It doesn't show on any of the planet maps. I thought I had them all, but apparently not. The quest guide shows the quest not complete.
Or is something else needed?

Problem is, I couldn't get past the opening scenes without dropping to Normal. Guns and shields really weak. Any tips for surviving the early missions with weak stuff?

Does anyone know if penetration augments/mods can be stacked? In the Trilogy, we could stack mods and AP ammo to get penetration through deep cover. We don't have AP ammo in Andromeda (don't know why) and don't have guns with inherent penetration, so I think stacking should be allowed.
Anyone know?

I had no opinion before release, only concerns. Now I'm pleased with the game, minus a few irritations. Like forever cold Voeld.
One thing I'm more than happy with. DLC Citadel was always the best of Bioware, IMHO, because of the smart repartee and humor. Put any two team members in the Nomad and drive around, and the endless chatter is excellent. It's worth skipping "fast travel" just to hear it.
