To be honest, that's how I find most of the negative reviews that are posted in the threads. It adds nothing to the discussion and it won't change people's mind yet some people agree with them. I mean people have no problem finding negative reviews and posting them, why can't the same thing be for the positive reviews? It adds more perspective and conversation. I personally don't think this review will change anyone's mind however I'm happy that there's at least one thread that doesn't thrash ME: A. Because again, this is not a review. This thread is essentially the same as someone just saying "I like it," and saying nothing else. Not different from most of the negative reviewers that posted here, essentially boiling down to "I don't like it." with shallow critique.

" I've only been playing "Andromeda" for a few hours so far, but I can already tell the reviews were overly critical." After few hours I had the same opinion.

Lots of reviewers like mea. I know. Unfortunately, we're all stuck reading solely about the reviewers who hate it and that gets used as support that, therefore, it must be a terrible game. True, but I've played the game for myself and I like it, so the negative reviews are entirely irrelevant. Plus, it's funny that people can whine about a game for so long. Andromeda has some strange hold on them that's just hilarious.

Why are people especially in the Western world nowadays so stuck in dualities. If it is not good it is automatically bad, no gray area at all. Bad is what needs to get squashed at all times so a lot of people are constantly on crusades for the good against the bad. Lots of energy to put in wars with oneself and others for what exactly, a bit of critique you can't manage!
Giving critique is not bad but there are ways of delivering critique and that department could use some more critical thinking instead of emotion splattering. The emotion splattering and full stops don't come from the people who give well formulated critiqued opinions. This seems more a case of dopamine hunting to stay in happy mode.

I thought the general review consensus was that MEA is mediocre. That's actually not hyperbole at all. A number of disappointed fans call it trash (as they do ME3), and the animations turned into a glorious meme, but overall an uninspired rehash with fun combat is what the majority of the more negative reviews and fan opinions boil down to. Now one might not agree with that but MEA is far from an example of the 0/10 or 10/10 bullshit we do get a lot these days. No review I read did this. Worst number was 6/10. Mediocre, not awful.

As an RPG I very much wonder, as a story driven shooter maybe. As for the writing style? Well, Bioware definitely follows the "social memes" that are floating around in the now. So, that will be an individual preference and that is stating it as politely as I can.

Hate is a very strong word. I have yet to see a profesional review that is just hate. All this "hate" reviews actualy just state the obvious negative features of MEA and find very few positive ones. Take ANY feature of MEA and you will find something that is negative about it, very often a LOT negative things. Heck, even the "best" feature of MEA (the combat) have a ton of problems, major problems. So, when pro feature the negative points outweight the positive and good features are full of problems that overshadows the positivity, there is only negativity left. Btw games should be looked upon like consumer products... when we go buy something, we look for the negative reviews, not the positives. Since it will be the "problems" with the product that will be annoying, not the things that are made "right".

Turns out I generally don't agree with many negative reviews, so I look for "hard" facts about a product. One for Andromeda would be it's environments. By viewing previews, it was a solid feature that the atmosphere was more detailed and immersive. That was something I was looking for and wanted. What I'm curious about is... how long will you bitch about the game? We're now going into May. It'll be interesting to see when people finally put down the subject and move to something else.

Everyone else seems to, especially one of the usual subjects in this thread. But what's the point ? It will make MEA better game ? Or maybe it will just satisfy OP ? We already know most of the pros and cons, maybe some people should focus on incoming patch and DLC. Same crap like with Addison tired face during first week after release. No need for that.

Of course there are, Metacritic is full of trolls, especially the user reviews. I'm talking about more serious reviews. As you say, 6 or 7 is common. How is a 6 not mediocre though?

So maybe after 3 months one should shut down the forum and open it up when a new game is released for another 3 months, it might just come to that. Your "hard facts" don't coincide with other peoples, fine, but it doesn't mean they are bitching.

Complaining about the game is complaining about the game. Bitching, whinging, constructive critique, whatever... it's the opposite of praise or admiration. The same topics have been covered over and over again, and I'm curious as to how long it will last. I've noticed people repeat themselves. Couple examples... I do when... say... lecturing my kid. Youtubers repeat themselves and their points in single videos... most of them could be reduced in length by about a third. It seems to be human nature to just keep hammering a point (or points) home.

What I'm curious about is... how long will you bitch about the game? We're now going into May. It'll be interesting to see when people finally put down the subject and move to something else.
This "bitching" will continue as long as "asslicking" continues. Everytime anyone says 1+3=5 I will say to that "wrong".
