Well this isn't going to end well.

Lots of reviewers like mea.

Nice to see a positive review, short and somewhat superficial in my humble opinion it may be.

Was there any confirmation of ME:A becoming a trilogy because I might have missed that. I do share his hope of it setting the stage for something bigger and a new legendary video game series though, the foundation could have been better ( and could be with future patches and dlc ).

LOL I get what you are doing, but honestly that wasn't much of a review. That was a fluff piece.

Just because reviewers point out things that are wrong, broken, bugged, or just poorly executed in a game doesn't mean they necessarily think the game is 'super terri-bad!!!!11!ZOMG!!'. That's kinda the whole point of a "review" is to point those things out.

On the other hand an article written by someone who admits they only spent a few hours on the game but praises it as "the start of a legendary video game series" comes off as a complete shill. At the very least find a 'positive' review from someone that actually played through the game.

First of all, why dig up an article from March, days after the game released? You're not likely to find any substantive praise. This isn't even a review. It's all impressions of the game's potential and a reiteration of its premise.

And for a guy who's only played the game for "a few hours so far," I feel like he's not exactly entitled to say "I think the initial reviews lost sight of that and gave too much weight to the games flaws instead of looking at the bigger picture." Maybe it's just me, but I would think that looking at the "bigger picture" would first require looking at the whole picture.

Seriously, it's not hard to start positive discussion. Just pick a single feature from the game that you find exceptional or even just uniquely enjoyable and just write a few paragraphs about it. Scrounging up fluff pieces doesn't really get anyone anywhere. Frankly, is comes across as desperate.

For anyone who is saying that this reviewer doesn't count because he has not played the game fully...you are aware that is how the industry works right?

 In the endless sea of negative reviews that have been posted ad naseum in the past few weeks. It is refreshing to find a review that slides towards the positive side.

First, the dude's played a few hours of a game that goes on for tens of hours, so even compared to most reviewers, that's not a lot. Second, this isn't a review. The article spends more time explaining what the features of Andromeda are than actually giving a reasoned opinion about them.

Third, it's not whether a review "counts" that matters, it's whether the review brings anything substantive to the table. There's no chance that this article would change anyone's opinion about the game. It barely has an argument and what little there is has no proper defense. The OP would be just as well of saying "I know of another person that likes Andromeda," and leaving it at that. The article is superfluous.

But it's not a review. It's some dude (and I do emphasize this point; it really isn't that difficult to get an article on some website, especially if it's a games article on a non-games site) saying "I think it's pretty good so far." That's it.

It slides nothing. No one will read this an come to new conclusions. You're feeding yourselves false hope for no reason. Just like the damn game. It's not that hard. I have to imagine that rooting through the garbage to find any scraps of positive is more tedious than reading all the negative discussion here.

Yes. The negative reviews (well, most I've seen anyway) actually have critiques. They may be unfounded, poorly argued, sensationalist, or otherwise bad, but they say something. They have an opinion, and they support that opinion with experiences taken directly from the game.

You can engage with the author: disagree, expand, and indeed, discuss the content of the review. This article is just "I like it." You can't anything with that.

The negative reviewers have an opinion, but some poorly formed and often not worth engaging. I see them no different from this article.
