why would he? Given how tight lipped Bioware was about anything c related to me. And given the best thing to do with Kotaku would be ignore them until the time is right. I think that honest, loyal fan deserves an answer. Not everyone is on BSN every day, not everyone take a part of that mess around MEA, some people just find out today that something is going on - so where should they go ? Who should they ask ? They are going to one of few people left who is still talking with fans. sure they do deserve an honest answer. But since the Kotaku article was not honest, I'd even say downright lying to generate attention, Bioware is just fueling the flames and giving this stuff legitimacy. Now they may have to respond eventually but the day after bull shit explodes in your face is pretty damn fast.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_justice_warrior"Social justice warrior" (commonly abbreviated SJW) is a pejorative term for an individual promoting socially progressive views, including feminism, civil rights, multiculturalism, and identity politics. The accusation of being an SJW carries implications of pursuing personal validation rather than any deep-seated conviction, and being engaged in disingenuous social justice arguments or activism to raise personal reputation, also known as virtue signalling." So "Social Justice Warrior" is a pejorative created to hide some gamers' prejudice over non-straight, non-"white" main characters in video games, and to belittle those who argue for equality and representation in the gaming industry. OK. I don't know who are the bigger snowflakes, SJWs or those trying to hide their intolerance behind some perceived threat from others. I mean, I can agree that BioWare's inclusivity can be excessive, but the anti-SJWs act like they're being persecuted, kinda like Christians in America who make up 70% of the population but think they're being attacked just because they can't 100% dictate the direction of the country any more. It's gotten so bad that now anytime we get a non white, non straight character everyone start crying about SJWs. Both sides are a bunch of whiny little bitches who cry about every little thing they don't like. SJW cry about Lara Coft's ass and the anti SJW crowd cry about Cora's short hair both are equally retarded.

sure that's what the bold title says. But nothing in the article actually supports the claim. And of course EA would say such things in public. They've done it before. To Bioware too. It's very typical of Kotaku to twist something to generate clicks... they are clickbait "journalism" and not to be taken seriously. After Inquisition and every non yearly game franchise, the team is downsized. You don't need hundreds of people on the team when most of the work is no longer necessary. This is the reason I respect no gaming site out there anymore. It isn't about providing respectable news, but creating outlets for ad revenue. It is depressing. Exactly. Well said.

They could have shut this down first day.

C'mon, that's a straw man. Your interpretation has nothing to do with the provided definition, especially not with the bolded part. The people who call others "SJWs" can't read other people's minds, so they don't know why a specific person is arguing for equality and representation in gaming. That's why I'm saying "SJW" is a pejorative that was created to belittle anyone who wants to see more LGBT or non-white main characters. The anti-SJWs don't care what a person's true motivation is; they just want to bully others and shut them up, and calling those who want representation in gaming (or any other venue in life) an "SJW" is a tactic to do that. As a straight, mostly white male gamer myself, I agree that BioWare gets carried away with their goals of equality and inclusivity, but I'm not threatened by non-straight, non-white characters and "ugly" female characters (like the anti-SJWs keep saying that Peebee and Cora are).

If this keeps spreading, eventually something legit will have to be announced to stop the speculation from getting out of hand. At some point they will have to react, cause almost every gaming website i know is having article about MEA ON HOLD. And some of those websites are quite reliable.

I don't buy it, especially in light of the comments made by EA's CEO yesterday when he said there was more to come with the Mass Effect franchise. It's to large a property for them to turn away from.
It's not surprising they are scaling down the team for now and focusing upcoming major projects rather than working immediately on a sequel. I suspect they have more than enough of a team to carry through with several story based DLC over the coming year.
They probably won't starting working on a sequel until after their new IP is launched next year. At which point resources will be shuffled.
This is a clickbate article for haters of the series. The content of the story and the "sources" dont' paint the picture the headline or the interpretation draw from the limited information.

They could have shut this down first day. that response is called shutting it down. Saying that we'll see good things form other projects in the future, while not mentioning ME:A is shutting it down? Offering support for ME:A is shutting it down. Hell, just saying the report is false is shutting it down. Marketing speak in response to a direct question when you can give a specific answer of those reports are false does the opposite.

EA should lend the franchise to Obsidian to play with it a little. I'm okay with that, but Bioware would need at least three to six months to work out issues, bugs, etc. because Frostbit demands it.

We so far have an idea from Cora's voice actress that a DLC is possibly in the works, and Gamble said everything already planned for MEA is still happening, so now it's a wait and see.

We have to assume for now it means whatever they are working on is going to happen (m/m stuff, more patches, DLC). Anything after what was already planned is not likely for the moment.

This has been the MO of a lot of Gawker's sister sites for a number of years. The Gizmodo guys in particular were especially guilty of this. They'd create inflammatory titles and then people would start to realize that they've been baited....again. But that how Nick Denton liked it. In fact he actually encouraged this kind of behavior, because it generates serious revenue.

We have to assume for now it means whatever they are working on is going to happen (m/m stuff, more patches, DLC). Anything after what was already planned is not likely for the moment. DLC would have been part of the original plan for the series. A couple years between games is nothing new, especially given the increased complexity of the games and their development cycles and everything Bioware and EA have on their plates right now. Nothing I read in that article from their sources or anywhere else makes me think for a second there won't be a sequel to this game. I never expected a sequel in a year or two anyway. I figured 3 years minimum after the last DLC was released. And all the "reliable" sites are just quoting the original Kotaku story which sure seemed to be reaching.
