Honestly this is the problem with the article. The article goes starts with the bold claim that BioWare put ME on hiatus and is downsizing Montreal but then...
Uses as its support the simple movement of personell, which happens in the gaming industry all the time. And does not bring up a single quote from EA saying anything to do with a 'hiatus'. Quite the contrary actually. the only two quotes they provided say they are happy with the product and look forward to...moving forward.

I don't see that. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain DA2 got a much worse response and even that game got DLC and patches. It did, and DA2, for all its faults, actually did function quite normally out the gate compared to MEA. DAII got a couple of item packs, a few patches (I think there were two) and 2 DLC's: "Legacy" and "Mark of the Assassin". A third one was planned that dealt with the Exalted March but was cancelled due to low DLC sales. I may be mistaken but I think the cancelled DLC was incorporated into the Exalted Plains area in Dragon Age Inquisition.

If IF they cancel DLC it would be because of sales, not bitching. And if the sales don't support DLC that's on EA/Bioware, not the customers. Bitching.. hahahaha. The unofficial BSN forums are the source of information EA uses to calculate their long term plans. HAHAHAHAAHA! It's the bottom line and the bottom line is that the game failed to meet expectations. To those who insist that unofficial BSN forums caused so much grief... go get a job in the real world. If you can even get hired. Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. Trying......getting laid off after bring number 1 in a company and attending a top university still sucks. And I've interviewed with 20+ and applied to maybe 150+ companies since January.....At least I have a part time gig and BSN. haha

I know it hurts, but over time you'll find a new game you like - maybe that new CDPR game, or TW4! If the game was a hit, a sequel would be in the works - especially with all the open ended threads in Andromeda. EA is clearly washing their hands of this mess and following the money - which means to send the team onto different, profitable projects.

Didn't there was a report that Bioware are hiring a large amount of people to Montreal few weeks ago?
If the article is true and not just to click bait, well the franchise ends 1 game too late.

How does one conclude from this article that there won't be DLC or patches anymore? RIGHT?!? Moving assets is what EA does and they make sacrificial cuts each year to justify pay raises for others that are performing. It's a common practice in every field where multiple sites are engaged on different projects. All I see is EA throwing some employees to the unemployment line because it will bolster the bottom line down the road. However, I love the people who are basically advocating for fans to censor their grief because their feelings got hurt.

Maybe it's for the better. Honestly, looking back at MEA I can't help but think it was made by a team that just wasn't up to the task, not in the slightest. The level of writing talent and creative vision was significantly below what people expect from this IP.
Moreover I'm kindda ready for a new Bioware IP. If they don't have the talent to make Mass Effect properly then don't do it at all and focus on something else. From what I've read about Dylan I'm pretty hyped.

I think with the the new IP and a new Dragon Age game coming out in the near future it makes sense that We won't see another Mass Effect yet. I still think we'll have DLC though.

Take a look at Austin (banks, Bioware and all sorts of studios for music and art), San Antonio (just apply and you will get hired if you like working in hospitals, clinics and other places where databases are really needed to be upgraded to comply with HEPA) and Houston. Houston is needing a lot of programmers now for refineries and city jobs. Houston is racing to compete with San Antonio as another tech hub. The pay is not at the same level up north, but we don't have state taxes. Also, message me. I'll put you up when you're looking for a place or coming down for an interview. My wife Debbie is a great cook. So there's that as well.

Ok I have an idea, let's rename the forums to BMSN (Bioware Mass Speculation Network.) It doesn't matter what the issue is it gets turned around and speculation goes crazy. I see nothing that supports claims of no more support or dlc. If that was the case why would the VA'S be recording lines?

Which given the constant posts saying 'I miss Shepard' and 'where's my Garrus the new companions suck' seems to be what people really wanted, the exact same thing but shinier. I will be rather disappointed if we don't get more Ryder, she had more potential as a character than Shepard ever did. I have only played through one time but I never liked anything about Ryder, just my opinion though. The problem from the start is no one could ever live up to Shepard. I disagree. Shepard was polished. Ryder was not given that opportunity. I like male Ryder. He grew on me as my character. Did I like the game after patch 1.05, hell yes. Were there problems still after patch 1.05, hell yes. But that HYPE window that lasts about 8-12 weeks, came and went. All we have now is YouTube reminding us how it failed at launch every time you search for Andromeda. That's the problem! They allowed a product, an EA commodity, go into the wild and expected little or no backlash. The hubris of it all.

Exiled Prince is still its own DLC for DA2, even if it was scaled down and never bug-fixed. Exiled Prince was Day One DLC. There was to have been a third DLC: the story for "Legacy" was written with mage Hawkes in mind and "Mark of the Assassin" was tooled for rogue Hawkes. I remember being disappointed reading that the 3rd DLC had been scrapped, since I felt warrior Hawkes got screwed out of their DLC.

I think they will continue on with their planned DLC's and finish Andromeda out. A lot of story threads might get tied up, some threads may remain for the future game to address. I don't think ME is going "Bye-bye", it just might be a few years before we have anything else from the franchise. The team's going to need to give serious thought to what they want to do with it. I do hope Ryder and crew come back, though. It could be worse. Ask Maxis, Pandemic, etc.

Not on my PC, and EP that was a Day 1 is still bugged 6 years down the road or whatever years down the road in every gorram cutscene. Wow.
Anyway, if the news are true, it sucks hugely, and as always folks who actually loved it are the ones that get punished and whiners and haters get their reward of seeing others deprived of what they want.

Legitimate voice actors don't come on the cheap. It's a calculated move that was already planned way before Andromeda released. EA is not stupid, they're cunning as hell and they're the best at it.

This could probably mean a couple of patches and no DLCs at all. Well I hope people are now happy. Thinking that bitching is going to give you a better product...flash news...It won't. After Deus Ex this is the second franchise I love that is put on halt...while crap like Battlefield, Battlefront and CoD are released every freaking year....damn if it goes like this I won't have anything to play with. I you make a shit game you deserve to get shat on. Not my fault if their overlords fuck em up.
