Still too early for Andromeda but right now Cora is my top pick.
So my votes were 1. Jack 2. Tali 3. Garrus 4. Cora

So my votes were 1. Jack 2. Tali 3. Garrus 4. Cora Nice. All of these characters had deep writing. I felt Jack's anguish and I wanted to make it better. I felt Tali's loneliness and her desire for her species to settle down again. Garrus, no explanation needed. The greatest ally in the universe. Cora took a long time for me to see her as a romantic option. Her haircut made her look older, which works for me. I'm probably the only person on BSN to admit that.

Kaidan, Reyes and Gil, the only people I've ever romanced. If I had to narrow it down to one, it's Kaidan. Kaidan was also the iconic voice of Carth Onasi, who set the bar for even greater depth of character storytelling and voice acting. Up to Knights of the Old Republic, you didn't have a lot of voice acting. You just had snippets of it while the text helped flesh out the rest of the conversation. After Knights of the Old Republic, we got Dragon Age: Origins. A non-voiced protagonist who was carried by an incredible assortment of voice actors/actresses. Morrigan. Alistair. Leliana, etc. Then Mass Effect and Dragon Age 2. Shepard and Hawke gave us voice and they delivered. All the way. The Inquisitor's voice was nicely done as well and you had two choices in style. Another step forward. No one can knock the voice acting, except it a few, very noticeable places in Andromeda (glaring at Liam, Morda and PeeBee).

Yes, I played KOTOR long ago when it came out, as well as KOTOR 2. However, because I didn't play ME until 2016, sufficient time passed for me that I didn't directly connect him in my head to Carth Onasi (who I liked just fine anyway).* I first recall seeing his VA in Werewolf the Series (which a Google search reminds me came out in 1987 when I was 16). In between playing KOTOR and ME I also saw him in Once Upon A Time. There really was no linking the two BioWare game characters in my head. I connect the voice more to Kaidan than Carth. I was also disappointed with the lack of VA for my protagonist in DAO and glad Hawke had one. Though I liked my Warden I admit that I only have one complete PT of DAO. DA2 actually got more PTs out of me, though DAI had the most. None of which compares to my many PTs of ME1, ME2 and ME2, whether singly or in trilogy format. I like Shepard's voice, I like Kaidan's voice and I like Scott Ryder's voice. Those are my top three favorite voices, though I think Kaidan wins there again. *That comment was mostly because I know some people didn't like Carth and so didn't like Kaidan because of the same VA. Or so I've heard.

I met Morda only briefly so far, so I dunno yet what's there that irked the folks. Liam, I got used to him; never noticed anything wrong with PeeBee. But Jaal and Suvi, I can't get used to it, and I don't like it.

Actually gonna throw Andromeda a bone here and go with Reyes. His interactions with Ryder are dynamic and witty. His animations are extremely well done. VA is spot on. He feels like a layered character and not just a stereotype (even makes people speculate about his motives and general grey-ish-ness...i love it ). And most importantly...pantalones would probably drop fastest. Alas, we don't know if they ever actually do? Aside from that, those are 20 very well used minutes of Reyes content. Number 2 would be Thane for me.. I have worked so hard. Meditated and prayed and done good deeds. Atoned for the evils I've done. Prepared. I consider my body's death and a chill settles in my gut. I'm afraid, and it shames me. So beautiful..and so sad. Number 3 Garrus because Garrus...but I guess I'm a sucker for drama so Thane comes first. 4 is...Jack? She comes across as this borderline ridiculous edgy emo teenage girl at times but...I just wanna hug her? I guess I also am a sucker for the "I am totally indepedent and absolutely do not want close relationships (but please do not leave me)" trope? Reminds me of Viconia. Cute. Overall, I liked most of the main squadmate romances/characters in the OT while the Andromeda ones felt considerably flatter. Jaal is most interesting as a character I guess but his romance made me cringe way too hard. Peebee is a bit too bland as the stereotypical roguish girl. Drack is hot but only gets one flirt.

ME: Kaidan & Garrus. I couldn't pick a favorite.
ME:A So far only Liam, but I wasn't really digging the whole romance thing with him. He's a strange guy.

Kaidan, Thane, and Reyes. Since we get 4 votes this time, I threw James a bone even though his "romance" was bleh. My choices as well, although I voted Garrus for my 4th vote.

Voice helps (Reyes reminded me of Zevran in that respect because of the accent) but for me the Jaal romance lost me with inappropriate/ill-timed banter between him and Cora/Peebee after the romance is in full swing, and the culmination scene was a big turn off. It was weird but he actually got less appealing the farther along I got in the relationship. I preferred the no-sex option by far, but if I'm going that direction, I'd rather have Reyes.

Same, the more I got into it, the less I wanted to romance him. The Regency in space did not work for me. also, one thing that I noticed with the sex scenes in Andromeda was that they were either really abrupt FTB, without any indication of even the slightest motion by the characters towards one another or the attempt to animate TMI. That created quite an imbalance. i much preferred it in the older games, when they tried to drop the FTB curtain just before it got interesting and tried to animate emotionally different scenes. Like your character going on tipytoes to kiss the LI, the main character gently coming over and wrapping hands around the LI who turned away, a slam in the wall, the eyes animated to open back up when the kiss is done... all of it was more desirable to me than either the hard blackout right after the line (I am still hoping that one day there will be a male LI that will lift the female PC off the ground in a Bio game) - it's like they don't even have the gradual fade out they used in infinity to create the mood, or the Jaal's demo of what pipe goes into which slot.

If you haven't guessed, I'm a married straight male. I like to cheat on my wife with Bioware. That's the only way I will ever cheat on her. However, I get damn nervous when Bioware decides to delve into artistic sexual moments that frankly isn't NSFW or 10 feet within visual range of your spouse. Let me assume things (like fade to black) and that way I'm not bashful to recommend the game to a teen or a tweener. OR AT LEAST PUT AN OPTION IN-GAME to censor it so moral crusaders can STFU.

I get what you're saying, and leaving stuff to the imagination is always good, imo. But, for Sara/Jaal, it wasn't the graphic nature that was a turnoff, but rather the nature of the graphic, if that makes sense. Scott/Cora was just as graphic, maybe more so, but it I liked. It felt like a real relationship between two adults taking that next step. Sara/Jaal felt like teenagers running off to make out under the bleachers. Not to mention way more of Sara was shown than Jaal, which I'm not into since naked women prancing around and giggling isn't really my thing. There was more naked Jaal in the (lack of) armor scene with Liam than in the romance scene with Sara. Maybe they should get together instead.

I am actually surprised to see how much more popular Reyes is than Jaal tbh. the power of the experienced VA! He's like Spanish Han Solo. He's a smuggler, so he pretty much is. Perfect, dead on comparison. The VA sold it. Sold it in bunches as you can see by the poll. Kudos to Reyes VA and the writer.

Garrus #1 and Kaidan #2, I can't romance my pick in MEA, "Harry, look, we're in a new galaxy. We need to produce children. I'm young, you're...well I'm hoping your willing. Let's do this." "You realize that I'm twice your age." Ryder pulled him to her. "I don't give a damn. Show me what a doctor knows about the anatomy of a woman."

The fact that one of the three top voted LI do not look like a human is quite interesting.
