One thing I hope this game won't have, at least for very long, is aliens speaking in an alien language to me. Shi abu gabkan takla makla bandi tae. Ugh. I can't stand that. If they make a universal translator as part of the crafting system, I'm gonna make that first. I don't care if I have weapons from four centuries ago. If I can't understand you, nuh-uh. but it makes sense that aliens do NOT speak english. galactic translator for unknown exogalactic species would be absurd Right, but that's one of the things that I had forgotten about KOTOR2. Aliens speaking a different (non-existant) language that almost made me quit that game. I was about over it the second time I had to speak with somebody that wasn't human.

After watching the trailer 3 times, it has killed any last hope for this game for me. The shreksari proves Bioware couldn't draw or animate aliens if their life depended on it. The really stupid looking armor designs, 9 light bulbs on the protagonist suit providing no functionality, the 2 belts hanging hanging off butt. The hold to raise bridges "gameplay". So far everything I've seen points to DA:I levels of failure. Then again, I'm a cynical grumpy oldfart, I don't expect opinions like mine to be in majority. If you can get enjoyment out of DA:I, good on you. You defending DA2 points to low standards for games, so there's strong possibility for that happening. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Hm... To be fair, the studio has every right to design their own game and tell stories their own way. Take your Shrek Asari, for example. I envision the writers coming up with a new Asari personality. Not jaded, not experienced but that of a teenager trying to find out who she is. The Ninja mask could be part of her rebellious streak, maybe also a playful one. The 4K tech Video version of her is improved. She may not look like what you want to see, but is Bio obligated to cater to your wishes? Well, he did say "good on you" and never said they had to change. He just said it sucked. At least in that quote. I'm coming in late here.

Meh, he changed his tune. I don't really think he knows what he wants, until the game ships/N7 day.

No two ways about it. Exploration is a prime activity to discover and obtain better tech and gear. That holographic map showed us at least 32 planets with Regular Remnant Vaults that contain artifacts, materials, gear and some Keys that can unlock the entrance to Elite Remnant Vaults located somewhere in space. The latter is a much much tougher fight to survive but come with better rewards. On top of the sentry robots, the Elite Vaults also contain Khet and pirates looking for the same thing we are (info from Leak). No Reaper threat? No Shepard? Try as I might I can't drum up any shred of enthusiasm for Andromeda. It's another galaxy so presumably machine intelligence may have evolved on a similar tangent as in the Milky Way but if that's the case they'd merely be rehashing the first trilogy' story. But then again considering BioWare's ongoing 'repurposing', they may have decided to dispense with the storytelling aspect altogether. And the above (especially the bolded part) sounds disgustingly MMO-ish to me - something we've seen creep up in recent years, most notably in DAI. A shooter MMO? I think I'll pass.

I don't either, but I think it's for a different reason. I'm tired of RPG's. I just am. Sick of them. That's the reason I can't really get into The Witcher 3. I'm just over it. I'm still not sure what exactly happened, or even when it happened. But the thought of a bunch'a guys, and me being one of them, in a basement playing D&D makes me wanna vomit.
I played through DA series. I think that's because they offer you a lot more choices. But I'm still not crazy about the series as a whole.

Unfortunately, if Andromeda turns out to be an MMO vault-hunting game, it'll be....I suppose not farther from D&D but simply farther from Bioware. No more story.
Great. No story. Just pure RPG. Wow. Dungeons and aliens. Going through the dungeons, battling random foes, leveling up, acquiring gear, repeat. Repeat. That's it.

If the purpose of spending x number of hours with any given game is not to weave a singular story but merely to master the mechanics of a title then what's the point? Oh well, I suppose every one of us has his/her own preferred way to escape this decaying RL world. Personally, mine ideally involves more than repeating wrist-twitching on a console controller.

MW galactic civilization, the Alliance, Omega, the Citadel and everything else we may love and want to see are no more. No they aren't. They will continue to exist in blissful canon while the Andromeda story will forever languish in apocryphal hell.

I'm a bit excited.
I mean, I'm generally pretty cheerful, and I've enjoyed pretty much everything Bioware I've played (at least enough to generate a tiny internal yay!). I'm not expecting this game to be the second coming, because that is how people get their hearts broken and then rage for days because it didn't live up to expectations.
Let's be honest. It will have a few graphical glitches. At least one glitch will break the game. One will be tiny and yet RUIN EVERYONE'S DAY BECAUSE IT'S IN THE WORST PLACE EVER (looking at you face-import glitch in ME3). There will be some plots that leave you scratching your head. At least once, you'll think the antagonist is a flaming idiot. At least three times, your character will BE a flaming idiot. Some companions will have overly cheesey lines. You'll generate an irrational hatred of at least one companion and internally accuse them of dragging the entire game down just by existing. The romance scene will probably make you turn colors, possibly from laughter at how silly it looks. Something will clip when it shouldn't.
And yet. Unless Bioware spontaneously combusts or releases a disc that's actually made of scorpions, I predict it'll be pretty fun and a lot of people will enjoy it (at least enough to generate a tiny internal yay!). It will probably make you laugh, and feel things, and you'll love most of your new space friends (EXCEPT THAT ONE PERSON ARGH WHY MUST THEY MOVE THEIR MOUTH HOLE AND RUIN EVERYTHING). And the plot will be all right, and the gameplay will be not bad, and it'll generally pretty agreeable and a decent way to waste about 20 hours.
I know, I'm going way out on a limb with these predictions. My default excitement level is set to "Pleased anticipation", and default seems about right for MEA so far (Compare and contrast with the Captain Marv--Shazam movie, where my excitement level is "Mingled blood-curdling terror and unrestrained glee" that movie is going to wreck me no matter what).
