I'm genuinely glad you are really excited.
I wish I was. I just feel dread towards this game.

I wouldn't say I'm excited (no pew pew gameplay in the video, video's too short, etc), but my curiosity department is definitely looking forward to N7.

I'm definitely excited. I thought I wasn't gonna be when the video first started, what with the jetpacks and all, but it quickly grew on me.

I was really excited when I got notification about this. Mostly because I already convinced myself that we won't see anything until N7 day. Having low expectations is good . I think it looks awesome and I just hope they won't mess this up.

I'm excited. I like what I'm seeing and hearing so far. And since I'm replaying ME1 I'm back to digging the idea of exploring space.
Now I just need the PC specs to make sure mine is up to snuff and able to play it.

Other than the environmental graphics. But every game has that now. I get the feeling it'll be exploration heavy like DAI. The fact that Aaryn Flynn is gushing over No Man's Sky too makes it worse. It's like their idea of Mass Effect was hopping on one of those worlds in ME1 and running into a Prothean Orb or pyramid. Except this is a detailed way of going about it. Except it's shit, detailed or not. That was never fun to me. That's not Mass Effect to me. Mass Effect is rogue spectres, space cops, and thugs. Simple. This other stuff was just dressing. Not the center.

We shall move from planet scanning to plant scanning, ha.
If one truly wished to know my opinion, I suppose I could say that it was okay... At least for what was shown. The only problem I had with it, is the character movement animations. Something felt wrong with the body animations, but I do know what it is.

Yah, I'm hearing now that VR isn't quite dead, but it's gonna take a bunch'a more early adopters to fund that little twirl. And the way it's looking right now, it ain't there.

Even if it was more adopted, I don't know why he'd think it's relevant. They are squad based TPSes (now with MP to boot). That he thinks it applies tells me he's got his head up this whole exploration kick. Which sucks, VR or not. It's even more stupid than his comments about DAI and how it was a "return to form", slightly giving a nod to haters or something. This guy seemingly doesn't even like their recent efforts.

I thought it looked pretty good for what it was. No combat, just kind of a run through platform jumping exploration. That's fine. But I'm really looking forward to seeing the combat and more civilization in andromeda.

You know what? So am I.
It isn't really that same kind of "magical" excitement I felt for an upcoming game when I was a 12-year-old kid, but we've got some more gameplay footage and it looks great. That's enough for me to go "Hey, at least ME:A probably won't be shit."

It was mostly gallivanting "ancient" areas too and discovering lore. Granted, they'll have to try harder to screw up shooter combat. They already stumbled on a workable model, unlike DA. But I still don't see any basis for interesting conflict here.

Not the center. Space cops and thugs didn't appeal to me either. I was into the politics and companion quests, and the ominous collector base. The scanning and getting to the vault were countered by a meaty enemy attack at the end of the clip. Remember the collector base? It had plenty of ominous corridors and things to examine/scan along the way to the final combat levels. This clip reminded me of that. The level guided you to an end point.....the level had a POINT. What I hated so fucking much about Inquisition was everything was just sprawled out and there was no focus. The entire Storm Coast.....the only real story-specific areas are the red templar caves and the Blades of Hessarian Camp. First of all, the region does NOT guide you to the Blades of Hessarian camp. It's not a defined end point of a corridor. You just wander and stumble upon it amongst a large landscape, where the camp is given equal spatial attention as any elfroot or spindleweed lying around. Secondly, there are no cut scenes or close-ups. Not even any real conversations or speeches from the blades members to talk about who the hell they are. There are a few side comments using atmosphere audio quality and some codices you loot.....okay. In this Andromeda clip, thankfully they lead you to a point, they gave proper clue-up and directorial attention to the point.

It was mostly gallivanting "ancient" areas too and discovering lore. Granted, they'll have to try harder to screw up shooter combat. They already stumbled on a workable model, unlike DA. But I still don't see any basis for interesting conflict here. No guys, they DID have combat in the 4K clip. Look at the end. Scanning the plant, the V/O talking about "wow I was just scratching the surface" - these are all LEADING UP TO the combat. Building up suspense and precedent for the combat. Inquisition had none of that. It's clearly more corridor-like. While I understand people don't like corridors all the time... honestly I think it works for Bioware because it helps them focus on the story. Witcher 3 kind of has large sprawling open areas, but then when you get into story-intensive "dungeons" (scripted areas with a combination of combat and cut scenes) it is more like a corridor level. So yes I would say even TW3 uses corridors. In Inquisition you did not have constant voice-overs of what's going on. Ryder was making comments about what's happening. All these things help guide you toward the focus of what's going on: their encounter with whatever they're fighting at the end.
