Despite all of MEAs problems, this game felt more like a set up.They left so many unanswered questions and interesting plotlines . I d like to see a direct sequel building upon the foundations laid. Edit: of course I wouldn't say no to any sort of ME game. I ` d play a ME strategy spin off, a ME MMO, a trilogy remaster, a trilogy post ME3 remake/sequel, a Telltale ME game...etc

I would check other if it was in the poll, but its not.
I like a sequel to ME3. It will be called ME4:Revenge. It will be about Shepard trying to beat Samantha at chess. Garrus wanting a try at beating Shepard at shooting bottles. James wants to beat Shepard's record of pullups after she/he beat his record. For the main event a 15-round heavyweight bout between Shepard and Khalisah al-Jilani
A sequel to MEA. What will the Kett do? The story behind Garson's murder? Is it possible she might be alive? Who's the benefactor? What role will Fiend play in the sequel? Will the player learn more about the Jardaan? Of course what I mentioned could be in a dlc, but if not.....

Yeah no just no. There is still way much more to do in Andromeda many more clusters to explore. And there were still places to explore in the milky way. Bioware was just too much of a wimp to piss off the babies with picking an ending. Not much more. I mean sure we never actually landed on some of the home worlds but the Milky Way is said and done. Andromeda is huge and has a lot more potential.

Just push on with MEA and make improvements, particularly in the writing department. This is a great idea in theory..but they had five years to make this game and this is what we got. We beg them for more mediocrity, they're going to give us more mediocrity or worse. I'd rather they just let it go; or sell the license to a gaming house that gives a damn about something other than multiplayer.

On the bright side, if they move forward with MEA2, they have five years of what not to do and what was successful to work. Sooo, that's may cut down on both time and mistakes... They REALY need to study ME2 IMO and just bring that to what MEA did well... The hard part will be the writing, seems the gameplay buggy parts will be addressed before that piece is started. Think of MEA is MEA2 beta... as annoying as that may sound.

Citadel space made up for less than 1% of the galaxy. It was not even remotely thoroughly mined. It's ridiculous how much fans are dwarfing the size of the galaxy, acting as though it's a planet itself. Preview

Who's begging them for mediocrity? 5 years (and let's face it, the game was not actually in dev for that long) means nothing if you don't use it properly. They gave the game to their B team, changed lead staff mid project and paced the development poorly. There's an interesting article on Kotaku (I know) about the dev issues that's linked in another thread. You should check it out.

Well, in the end, it's the choice between pissing off the babies that would lament BioWare picking an ending and pissing off the babies lamenting leaving the old setting behind. Only our lord Xenu knows which option is the greater poison.

They can keep the Andromeda concept, but put it a couple hundred years down the road. Scrap all the chars and tie up anything they can in DLC. Next game they should start with as blank a slate as possible. New protagonist, new companions, new enemies, new planets, new story.
Trying to "fix" the story is just putting lipstick on a pig.

Yeah, they can put in the prologue of the following title that all the kett slipped on bars of soap in the shower and other freak accidents, thus ending their empire's reign.

Yeah no just no. There is still way much more to do in Andromeda many more clusters to explore. And there were still places to explore in the milky way. Bioware was just too much of a wimp to piss off the babies with picking an ending. There are no places left to explore in Bioware's Milky Way because they'd have to create those images of planets for us to explore them. At this point in time, those images don't exist... so there is nothing to explore. The same holds true for Andromeda... once you play through the game and do everything there is to do, there is nothing left to explore until Bioware creates new material for you to explore. It really matters not whether they design fake planets for the Milky Way or for the Andromeda Galaxy. The ending of ME3 was obviously intended to be an actual ending to that Trilogy of games (and they were intended to be only a Trilogy of games). The ending of ME3 does not hint at any more to come. As yet, Bioware hasn't committed to doing another ME:A game, but certainly the story seems to hint a more to come.... and I think they should move forward with that. I voted for a direct sequel to ME:A.

There are 54 people I just don't get. Probably those who either came in at about ME2-ME3 range instead of at the start. Or those who have been here from the start and see how different ME:A is from the trilogy. Due to the massive changes are offended. Kinda like they wanted apples to go with the others that they had already been eating but got oranges instead. To this: media.giphy.com/media/XG11VVyKbBcNG/giphy.gifCry me a river. Mass Effect is starting again as a new IP. The Trilogy is done. FORGET IT. It is not associated with the Initiative.

I assumed your slipping on bars of soap was a joke, and responded in a tongue-in-cheek manner, which I realize is hard to defermine in written form. My overall point is, this game didnt work for many, many people, myself included. In my opinion, the best way to move forward is just to wipe the slate clean and start with a new story. Which could be in Andromeda, but all ties (except an easter egg here or there) with MEA should be cut.

Andromeda has potential it just needs a focused team and focused direction from this point onward.
Don't try to make a game innovative for the sake of innovation or at the expense of what your work is typically known and sought out for. Most BW fans want strong characters, strong atmosphere, good roleplay, and to feel like their decisions have weight. Improving combat, sandbox play, and pretty visuals should be secondary at this point.
If there is anything to be innovative about, it should be the story content and not game mechanics. Bioware has a whole new galaxy where they are free to do pretty much whatever the hell they want with it. Get creative and bold with your world building, give us new types of societies we haven't seen before in your games and force us into situations our heroes never encountered before. Remember to keep the spirit of Mass effect alive without rehashing the same ideas.

Cry me a river. Mass Effect is starting again as a new IP. The Trilogy is done. FORGET IT. It is not associated with the Initiative. It doesn't matter. It's still called Mass Effect, and it doesn't exist in a vacuum. The other Mass Effect games will always be connected to it no matter what they do. Just as Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are Deus Ex so is MET and ME:A that I grant. However that should be the end of it. Speaking from that front the Deus Ex games of HR and MD don't go heavy down your gut on the lore -unless you really go delving deep. If you have never heard of the Deus Ex series before you played then maybe you would go back and look at the others including the mechanics of the previous games and how that itself has changed. ME:A is attacked because of the legacy that the MET brought before it. People see MET as the first in the franchise and the holy grail of the series and complain how ME:A is such a departation from the original. Yet some can't get over how different it is. The MET series is done. Close the doors and bar the windows on what happened in it. ME:A has the wheel now. It seems to me that many fail to realize that this game is in the same universe but is not the Trilogy. Bioware went as far as to have it take place in another galaxy and yet the comparisons between the two still abound. Sure the game has bugs but as with anything there are bound to be problems. In my opinion: Take the lore and the knowledge of how the series came to an end and move on. Accept ME:A for what is: a game that should accounted to on its own merits and not connected to the MET -except in a passing of acknowledgement. Is ME:A the best game combat-wise, story-wise, exploration-wise graphic-wise? No. But it is far from the worst.
