With out a doubt I would, I can only dream but I don't think Bioware/EA will ever do it. I think a good compromise now would be Bioware/EA doing a remaster of the trilogy for the old fans and down line continue the story of ME-A 2 for those who enjoyed it. Yah, all four of you. I'm surprised 4 people liked Andromeda.

I loved Shepard, and when I first heard ME was leaving Shepard and crew behind I was really upset. Now I love Ryder and their crew too, and would love to see their story continue. I really enjoy MEA, and hope it countinues.

Would you play it instead of another Andromeda chapter/game? Assuming they could make it work story wise. Yes Shepard was the greatest hero in the universe, he lived happily ever after with Jack and that is the end of it. Mine is in Vancouver having drinks with Sam while reading a book on how to win at chess. I guess it's a minority after all, or the people that would prefer it, left the game. I remember there being a similar thread on the old forums about this subject, well, more or less. It was about whether Shepard's story should continue. Back then a lot of people wanted more Shepard, but the same thread 2 years later was very different.

Shepard is dead and 600 years long gone. If they were going to retcon ME3s ending, they would have done it already. Don't get me wrong, I did like the guy, but like most anything else, his time has moved on to greener and better pastures.

Shepard retired from the Alliance, married Garrus, and got a nice civilian job in engineering Let Shepard rest. Although I think Shepard is a far more interesting and likable protagonist than Ryder is, I'd still rather see Ryder get a chance to grow in future games.

How about both?
The team currently working on MEA continues Ryder's story in a sequel while EA brings in another team to work on ME in the Milky Way with Shepard returning for one more story.

I think Shepard is best off in the old Trilogy. Chances are that any "new Shepard" wouldn't be the "old Shepard" anyways... because there are different writers now and the style of the game has been changed significantly. I wouldn't want to see Shepard morphed into some sort of Ryder clone. They should continue to develop Ryder as a character now.

No.
I think what has hurt BioWare games since Mass Effect / Dragon Age: Origins is trying to appease the people that make comments about the game. You can see that with the outright removal of the Mako in Mass Effect 2 or all the companions returning in Mass Effect 3. I think if they were to bring Shepard back the game would be even more diluted then Mass Effect 3 and frankly thinking the game would be like that would be something I would avoid.

Do you honestly think after the ME3 endings debacle, they'd go back to that time? How could they even begin to make a game which satisfied and recognized the extreme choices of those endings? Shepard dies in all but 1 ending. So what do they do - make that ending canon and brace for the 'Leliana should be dead in my game' outrage? Hit the reset button and say 'Oh hey, he lived after all' because love those resets and choice ignoring narrative cheats.
To say nothing of how you would account for everything else, from games which are now near a decade old. And the fact that this kind of retreat to comfort zone would be seen as a pathetic capitulation and desperate in the extreme.

I'd like to imagine that Shepard managed to eek out a life not doomed to perpetual combat before she died. My Shepard will die charging Kalross at the age of 59 Wrex Liara and Tali at his side. Garrus is hiding away at the back somewhere with his Sniper rifle so he tells the tale on Palaven to small Turian children. Can you tell us another one about the Archangel? They'd always say. Well ok. He'd say approvingly. One more story.....

Nah after my ME3 MEHEM ending my Shep would have retired to make lots of little blue babies with her waifu. Shep did everything she needed to do.
Whether Ryder returns or not I am rather indifferent. If they really think they can do a much better job in the next game with Ryder, sure why not. If we never see Ryder again though I'm not gonna shed any tears.

The Mako was horrible in ME 1. The handling was awful, there's a reason it didn't make a return. If Bioware would have followed player comments, Ashley would have never made it back, so I doubt player input was that important. Not sure what you mean by diluted in that context. They could make it work easily really.

I'm surprised 4 people liked Andromeda. They're all gathered here. So they're easy to count. That's so weird, because on this very forum there's a recent thread with a poll that shows far more people think Bioware should do a MEA sequel than a ME3 Shep sequel. It's almost like you're wrong. No, no, sorry. You are definitely wrong. Obviously with sales of around 3 million, there are more than 4 fans.

As much as I love Shepard, let Shepard's story be over.
Having said that, I really don't want Ryder back either, just never connected with her. I hope they kick the ball down the road a number of years to where the planets are back to looking somewhat like what they once were. Having cities and not little settlements. Just everything more established.

Jump forward a couple hundred years and lets see some big awesome sci-fi planets and cities.

I like the idea of Shepard being dead and being nothing more than a relic of history and a name in an archive somewhere, instead of someone being dragged along past their due date for the sake of fanservice.
ME3's endings gave one of the greatest killing-offs of a protagonist.
Playing as Ryder I felt in the beginning I just wanted to play as Shepard again, but I realized further on I actually don't...
Like other have said, Andromeda is very refreshing in a way that's different from the OT. \
