Holy crap, that did look like a brutal mission. Congrats to everyone who made it through and as for the brave souls who gave their lives, may they rest in piece in the knowladge that they took some alien scum with them. The next Andromesplosion shall be dedicated to poodle!

Not knowing anything about the structure of X-Com 2, does this mean we are making headway here? Where would you place us in the overall scheme of the war General Pyrceval78 ? ... if you don't mind a lowly Sgt. asking.

Well, depends on how ya look at it. The main story missions wise, and research wise (we already have top tier weapons and armor, with the exception of needing some Archon corpses for the melee weapons) we are probably more than 3/4s through. I COULD go through and liberate every single region for a full completions but...Imma prolly not do that.

They did not like us taking their psi gate at all. Not at all. So, they hunted us. Despite some fancy flying, they shot us down like so...





They dropped a device that interfered with our engines outside, pinning us down and then sent lots and lots of rather tough enemies out after us. We sent a team out to free us.

The enemy has learned some new tactics, and gotten some better equipment themselves. In particular, they have learned the benefit of focusing on fire. Ms Noxxy came under fire from no less than a dozen enemies in a single round...





The outcome of course, was inevitable... Noxxy hits the cold frozen ground....

BTW, those LW missions are epic. Looks like you need to think really hard about squad composition with so many options.

Yeah, staggered approach with that sort of mission. The faster front line types pushing for the objective, you and the handful of other slower types running support to keep anyone from flanking us, as they tried to do a few times. I looked for a way to use your top tier ability here, but couldnt get you in a good spot to use it. its a 'capacitor discharge' with your little gremlin dude there, AoE elctro attack.

Fear not, young'un. As great masters of warfare once said, a small but capable strike force must use the element of surprise to it's advantage and never linger for too long lest it be defeated by a superior force. We will get to kill many more aliens...

They arent giving us much of a break lately to make progress. After running them off from invading the eastern US, they try and reinvade the western US.

Lycan had dropped a firebomb on that stunned group and then the Countess rapid fired her pistol at the huddled masses. It was a bloodbath...






So, I actually hadnt run in to one of these big split brained super sectoid commanders before that I recall, was curious to see what they do but Shimmers decided to just kill it first so much for that...







We also had a codex that thought disabling our weapons would be fun...






Who needs guns when ya got giant steel fists???





The super sectoid wasnt the only interestng new enemy appearing here, we have a Archon Lord as well, who likes to fly way up in the air and shoot out a bunch of rockets from his back...

Landing right next to the dude with the bigass gun you just injured? Not a great plan...
