Pretty much the same here. I used to play WoW but over the years as friends and guildies left the game it just wasn't fun anymore having to do the PuG thing. Too many jerks and internet tough guys for me to want to bother with. I usually avoid all MP type components that allow actual communication now. I have grown used to people bashing me and such. I usually just laugh at them and then put them on ignore if it happens which luckily is hasn't for awhile in online games. For the most part, most of the PUGS I meet in MMOs are pretty cool people, and if you want one of the friendliest MMO communities, Final Fantasy 14 is at the top of the list. To be honest, beyond that and a couple of times when I was called an idiot in ME3 MP, yeah there are mostly pleasant people online. And usually the annoying ones get kicked pretty fast, luckily. I do wish more online games outside MMOs had an actual mute function, though. Too many hot mics and kids trash talking.

Not every thread has to be about ME3's endings and Bioware's response to their reception Iakus, you've been complaining for 5 years. And you've been there every step of the way. Complaining about complainers. Ahem I've been snarky. I don't complain.

Well, I do avoid CoD and BF for a reason. Yeah, it's pretty toxic over there. It's pretty much the same anywhere, not really specific towards any game. Halo has plenty of trash talking (and tea bagging), Counter strike had plenty of it, early CoD, gears, overwatch, league of legends, I've played plenty of D@D where people harped on noobies or people who were just bad. It's just part of internet anonymity unfortunately but it's hardly specific towards certain games. i myself don't mind the minor trash talking in competitive games but some do happen to go a little overboard at times when it ends up in insults.

I just mute or put the trash talkers on ignore. I don't like trash talking because I understand you are trying to be competitive, but talking down on them is just disrespectful. Where I grew I up, if you tried to trash talk someone. You would get a nice punch in the face.

The writing and characters are so infantile anyone over the age of 13 would not find them acceptable but the level of language and sex in the game make it inappropriate for kids. The tone and content of this game are like oil and water. really? are you serious? Please tell me you loved Nier, persona or ANY jrpg so i can laugh.

It was aimed towards those that enjoyed the tone of the Citadel DLC. I enjoyed the citadel DLC, but I don't enjoy a whole game based on that approach. There's a time and a place. Citadel fits both parameters perfectly. But it's a DLC, relatively late in the game, whereas the game itself stays on a serious track. Well, you can avoid the worst of it in MEA. But in some cases, like cutscenes without interrupts there's no chance short of using the skip button. I do enjoy the Nomad banter though. Time and place again.

I found that the Citadel tone people are referring to doesn't really exist in any of the primary missions in the game for the most part. The most I can recall that comes close is maybe the banter that goes on over the comms during the final assault at Meridian, but that barely comes close. It seems to really be the loyalty missions, namely Peebee and Liam's.

Every other option, if existing, seems to be fine.

Super Mac didn't realize that the Citadel dlc was a breath of fresh air, in what was, a very dark and serious final game of Shepard's story. I didn't want to see an entire game of my squad cracking jokes and everything being so casual.

Tell that to the fanbase of Firefly though. Serenity was a flop? I had no idea! I saw the movie first, and loved it so much I went looking for the series afterwards. I thought the Operative was better than Vader. The Operative is easily one of my favorite antagonists. He's basically everything Kai Leng should have been.

Uhhh... Mass Effect fans and newcomers to the series? In an ideal world they would have offered gooffy for the ones liking that approach and serious for others. As it is, you can avoid gooffy for the most part. It reduces your choices even further in a not abundantly stocked dialogue wheel and you already have to know what comes out of your characters mouth when choosing a certain option, but it can be done - for the most part. What can't be remedied, short of spamming the skip button, are certain cutscenes. After finishing Eos and the crew assembling in the meeting room, I was like WTF. I don't want to say that and I don't want to listen to that.

That is the point. A very large proportion of the people BioWare seem to be aiming this game at can't even buy the game. Financial suicide! I find it hard to believe you actually think this unless you never played an online game ever. If you have GTA 5 just get on online in that game and most of the people talking are little kids who think calling everyone the n-word or f@ggot makes them edgy and cool. Even if a game is rated 18+ most parents are going to buy that kid that game regardless of what the devs tell us about the game. They will just complain about it later even tho the parents where the idiots who brought the game in the first place. Not only that but a darker theme does not mean it is more mature. The Twilight book/movies have a dark theme but I seriously doubt anyone here would say it's has a better than MEA, Uncharted or any of the Marvel movies for example. Adults to this very day still play Super Mario and Pokemon. I bet you the people who are hyped for the Crash Remake aren't 10-16 years olds who never even heard of a Crash game but adults who grew up with the series and want to play it again with better graphics. its also USK 16 here where I come from. So you can buy it with 16, even younger (because its not mandatory- only the FSK 18 ones aren't allowed to be sold to under 18y old) I mean.. in america people go apeshit if they see a woman's nipple.. a thing like at least 80% of people had in their mouth at one or more times in their life. in europe overblown violence is more disliked but that is relaxing more and more. still prefer our approach, I dont see why Andromeda should be 18+, i mean this softcore-y shit you can watch at night on the telly here.

Today's kids have mouths fouler than what I've heard in this game. In all seriousness though, this game is 18+ so no one under that should be playing it and complaining about it offending them. As for the tone of the game, it's meant to be happier, lighter and hopeful. As for the writing and characters? That's your opinion, but to me nothing about them are infantile. I'm 33 and can easily relate to Sara, who is 22.Yeah same here as I've always been fascinated by science myself so I definitely get them. Admittedly I'm 39 but I don't think you have to necessarily have to be young to understand the crew and appreciate what they're discovering about the universe and each other. The characters are inexperienced and this is just their way of showing it but they'er eager to face up to the challenge which is commendable. If the story is continued in an MEA2 which I doubt it will be atm then hopefully it'll show how they've matured in the next game.

The crew as a whole was not inexperienced.

The crew as a whole was not inexperienced. I was referring to their age as in the majority of the crew were young the only old guy on the team was Drack. Yes the team had some combat experience but not as much as they were going to really need for this kind of assignment really which was what I was pointing out. So in this instance they were inexperienced
