Canadian Delicacy - The Kaidan Alenko Thread

Hope I can do this right. N7 day is coming up and a lot of the voice actors will be doing a live signing on November 7 if anyone is interested. I got one of Kaidan last year and will probably get another this year

So a thing just occurred to me, I don't know if people have picked up on it before, or if maybe I am just reading to much into it.

We all know the Citadel DLC is a love letter to all the characters in the game, where they make fun of the memes and so on.
Like Shepard's quirky dancing and "I should go."
Shepard and Wrex saying each others names.
Garrus calibrating etc.

Well, we all know what the general consensus for Kaidan is 'He is boring'.
Now a particular line that he says, not sure if he has to accompany you to the Casino for this line to trigger, is:

"Have I ever told you about my Casino run in with the Vorcha Mafia, 5000 Credits and a bottle of Whiskey? Actually never mind."

The first thought is; ok, that does sound kind of interesting. Then you think, what the hell happened.
I like to think the writers kind of knew that is what everyone was thinking about him and wanted to play that for a joke.
Have Kaidan spring an interesting story on you to pique your interest, just for him to reel it back in and go, oh no wait I have to be boring, never mind. 

"Hey, Kaidan. I like you and you smell good."
"...I can tell you what detergent I use if you want?"


Just finished MELE for the first time, and this scene kills me.

Post more! I actually have a bunch saved from artwork people made on Tumblr and DeviantArt. I'm almost done with my current MET run. I think next time around I'll post more pics of Kaidan. I'll also cross my fingers that rondeeno will get his same gender mod for ME3 so my already romanced Kaidan from ME1/2 won't forget we were dating when we meet up at Apollo's. Damn, I miss that mod.

I saved him on virmire on my most recent playthrough.. I play a straight male Shepard and I usually save Ashley cuz she's my romance in the first game.. but I thought I'd mix it up this time around. I really like the friendship between the two. They have some really good scenes together, especially in the third game. He's a good counterpart for my renegade pro human pro Cerberus Shepard. They bounce ideas off each other and kaidan helps Shepard see the other side of the coin. I'm looking forward to third game where there bromance can evolve

Personally, she's second after Jacob for those that have been character assassinated. She doesn't feel like the same person anymore. She can be whiny, entitled, and selfish. Kaidan is the exact opposite. I really tried hard to like Ash. But other than her looks, she offers nothing to the game if kept alive in ME3. 

Just discovered this Reddit community and it seems perfect for the people who claim that Kaidan's bisexuality "came out of nowhere".

The only time I feel it comes out of nowhere is when Kaidan tries to ask your Shepard out in ME3 if you are a guy.

If you are still single then, it's fine. But if you had romanced Tali or Miranda in ME2, but haven't locked it in yet, yeah it's weird. This applies to any character, not just Kaidan.

It is also really out of character for Kaidan. I can't imagine him doing that. Especially when even Steve will comment on you having a lady waiting.

And yet Kaidan is the only one singled out for that complaint.

Um yeah? This is a Kaidan topic isn't it? And it happened to me with Kaidan. 

I usually do not associate or like when other characters do it. But it's never happened to me like it has with Kaidan as they are either dead or I don't talk to them.
