7 squadmates rumor

The more, the better!

Here's what I think the squad will contain:
A human female.
A human male.
An asari.
A turian.
A krogan.
A salarian.
A native Andromedan.

This might explain the apparent discrepancy between the number of squadmates and the expected number of love interests, but I doubt it.

I even preferred a few of the crew mates over some of the squadmates. It would've been nice for a few of them to have a bigger role. Maybe when Bioware remakes the trilogy they will.

I'm really looking forward to having another Salarian squadmate. It struck me throughout the trilogy that they were the most underused of the big three.

1- Male human (confirmed by Mr. Walters)
2- Female human (confirmed by Mr. Walters)
3- Krogan named Drack- leaked survey
4- Asari
5- Salarian (seen beside krogan in EA Play trailer)
6- Male-like synthetic (disembodied British voice in Sony presentation video)-rumor
7- ? (Andromedan species)

Lets also not forget every main Mass Effect game so far always had a temporary squadmate.

I did not factor romances, don't care about them either. Not anymore, not after the trilogy. I did Thane's romance because I like his personality, he dies, no paramour. I did Jacobs to be safe (no dying and stable human), he cheats, no paramour. Kaidan's voice and face remind me of a horrible ex-boyfriend, who even today after being arrested for stalking and harassment, persists.  Garrus acted as if femShep did not resemble asari or quarians, but was an amorphous blob with hairs he couldn't fathom attraction to, no thank you.


I sincerely doubt anyone affiliated with ME is as concerned with diversity as much as DA is, which seems a huge deal for some reason in DA (a fantasy game with Middle Ages elements) and less with ME (a view of a alternate future for mankind).


I expect very little for straight women. AT ALL. And very little for gay men.  To me sex in the MEU has predominately been designed to titillate straight men. And that is fine. I, honestly just want to have fun exploring a futuristic world, with urban settings, I really hope for some urban settings.


Just make pretty humans. I want to see pretty humans everywhere. Give all romances to straight men, I honestly don't care that much.


If I sound annoyed, I AM. I read the youtube comments for the new video. A lot about stupid romance quota complaints, hate on sjw, women, colored people, gays. Sigh! If, BioWare is listening to these persistent criticisms, I expect a reversal on their diversity focus.

The sex or any sexual intent in the MEU is definitely prominently so-

-In the trilogy there are only asari and human female strippers, no male strippers of any kind (about 20 minutes into the game I walk into Chora's den and see thonged women shaking princess avenue at the exclusively male patrons, same with Afterlife.)

-Hotel azure feature asari prostitution, one human female waitress, and human male patrons.

-Most sexually attractive squadmates are females (Garrus, Zaeed, Javik, Mordin, Grunt, and Wrex are not attractive, and if Garrus was a boring or horrible person, he would not be popular, he is not gorgeous like Tali and Liara). BioWare knew this and designed Thane for women after excruciating detail feedback from female coworkers.  But he had a wife he talked about a lot and was dying so he lost to Garrus. Even then Thane is not as beautiful or human as asari or quarians, unless men would romance drell females as they do asari and quarians. 


-Most sexually dressed squadmates are females

-Most background npcs in romantic relationships are heterosexual and main pairings are multiple male human and asari, one male human and female quarian, two male turian and asari, male turian and female quarian or three lesbian human with asari, few male humans with female humans, and no female humans with any male aliens.

-Most Commander Shepard romances are females for m!Shep, no cheating or moving on

-Revelation novel; Anderson says asari look like human women but are more "angelic", so they are seen as prettier than human woman, which I think the extremely ideal hourglass figure design of quarians along with the pretty human faces and long hair is another prettier than human woman design.


So yes, titillation for the majority of their fanbase is there, and that seems logical.

I don't expect any reversal on the list I provided to appease sjws, women, people of different races, or gays men.



-I don't expect a monogendered race that looks like human men but more handsome and are pansexual, like to dance in their youth in clothing that shows their abs and butts, and want to breed with other races.


-I don't expect to see all handsome male squadmates , some in chest to navel open armor, or well endowed in the groin so revealing you can discern penis and scrotum (my only comparison to protruding body parts like enlarged breasts and nipple effects). 

-I don't expect to see human women paired with alien males in the background.

-I don't expect Sis!Ryder to have an ensemble of handsome male lovers the likes of Jack, Miranda, Ashley, Liara, Tali, or even Kelly.


And I don't care!


Even if I, like many women, love sex and romance. Love tall handsome men with healthy bodies, gorgeous hair, good teeth, broad shoulders and strong necks, thick muscular thighs, well defined butts, deep voices, symmetrical faces blemish free faces, etc. It's not our only requirement, but we desire eyecandy too. But it's not worth much in the end for ME. Other things matter more.


I'd rather have interesting squadmates who already are involved in their own relationships back home than all of them be romances for me.


Just make exploration worth it. Make quests varied and repeatable. Interesting. Choices that make me want to replay and see the alternate outcome. And make humans beautiful. They look so strange in the trilogy and some background humans look like neanderthals.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on a female Salarian squad mate. In the Trilogy, they made a big deal about a female Krogan and later a female Turian. After strong contributions from male Mordin and male Captain Kirrahe, I'd wager that a female Salarian is going to get the push.

Side note: The female Salarian Council member was a minor character, and too old for action, so it's time to make a younger female Salarian a star.
