Newsflash: games aren't just "art," they're a product. Making fans happy is good business. Anyone who doesn't understand that is living in La-La Land.

Besides, it's their "art," and they can change it (or not) if they want to.

They changed the CC too, but no one is crying over them changing their "vision" for the CC. It's very telling that people are only whining about Jaal being bi. The writers didn't change their "vision" for the ME3 ending despite the massive wave of butthurt, and the incessant demands they do so. Jaal's sexuality a minor change aimed at making a part of the fandom happy, and, at this point, it's clear that some people are just complaining for the sake of complaining.

They don't know how to get long hair out of Frostbite. 

Any fix for SP? Earn your Badge bugged for FemRyder, Peebee: The Museum Trip missing mail, Task: Better Crafting ? Or are they still broken?

Yep, that's Olivia when I started the game, day one, and that's her today. I absolutely loved this patch. And I have faith we will get more in the future

Oh I see.. I guess I'll have to finish this glitched playtrough and then have hope they will be fixed when I'll begin a new one

We're going in circles. Again, my point is that it's not okay to change characters (or anything about the story, for that matter) after the game's release, no matter how big or small or good or bad the changes are. If nothing else, it puts the writers' competency into question. "We've worked on this game for 5 years, but it just now hit us, almost three months after release, that we really should have done this thing differently." Or "We've worked on this game for 5 years, but we didn't have enough time to finish his Scott romance because we were too busy with all that content he has with Sara and animating the "romance novel" waterfall scene for Sara, and writing flirty banter for him and female squadmates." There's also the precedent it sets, as a lot of people have mentioned - it shows the fans that they can get the devs to change the game for them if they yell about it on twitter loud enough. Just wait for #Make[Name]Bi as soon as the next game is out.

Let's say, straight males had two LI options when everyone else had 3+ (I know straight men are irrelevant to a lot of people, but just humor me), would it be okay to make Suvi bi so they could get an achievement? From what I know, she doesn't explicitly say that she's only interested in women and there were some lines for Scott in the code as well. Would that be okay?

What's the deal about the achievement anyway, is the game Literally Unplayable without it? The right way to fix that would be to reduce the required romance number to two or - even better - remove the achievement altogether. Or why not add another m/m LI, someone who hasn't been straight from the start? It's not like they don't have resources to spare with all the bugs and glitches they're ignoring. I don't like using words like "straight erasure", but it's literally what it is.

And, again, whatever is in the code - if it's not activated in the game, then it doesn't matter (unless it's a bug, which very obviously isn't the case with Jaal). An average gamer doesn't know how to datamine and has to take the dataminers at their word to learn what is hidden in the code. It's awfully convenient how these other lines just vanished, though.

So which one is it - "it's their art" or "they have to make fans happy"? And judging by this thread and some others, a lot of people are "crying" about the CC.

If they want their games to be taken seriously, they themselves need to start taking their games seriously, first. I think fixing bugs and tweaking other stuff would make a lot more people happy than making Jaal bi. You can't please everyone anyway, they can't just keep changing things on every fan's whims. I see a lot more people complaining about the bugs, or facial animations, or different faces for Asari, or better CC, but they don't seem to be in any rush to work on those issues. You'd think fixing bugs would be more important to the overall quality of the game, thus making more people happy than just a very vocal minority. Also, a lot of players from the Mass Effect's target audience are complaining abut the lack of "conventionally attractive" females - why not make every woman in the game a 20-something year old model with flowy hair and heart-shaped face?

ME3 had the "extended cut", another instance of damage control. As horrible as the endings were, I can respect that they mostly stuck by them despite the outrage. The endings were still bad, but that was at least ballsy.
