I never said that though. I said I made some decent Oblivion toons, so CC is easy for me with any game. MEA has realistic human faces, with amazing expressions, bright eyes and many ways to shape them, but with DAI's style added it could have been even more amazing. So far DAI and MEA are my fav CC in all the games I've played. Sims 4 is my biggest hate. Whether you said it or not it is still true. MEA has realistic human faces? Hehe, anyway... Sims 4 in particular is a vastly superior CC in terms of options, customization features, and ability to create any face you want to create (body too). Fallout 4 is another good recent example of a CC with functionality far superior to MEA's CC in the number of available adjustments that can be made and offers a far greater variety of options. MEA's CC is objectively worse in just about every area. Yeah because they are real life people scanned. That's your opinion. Not mine.

I mean that system is in practicality a third of the entire Sims game (the main areas that fans tend to go into is Create-A-Sim, Building, and "normal" gameplay). Hence, the developers in the sims spent ages making it and continue to update it and provide DLC for it. MEA is a traditional RPG, therefore the same budget just cannot be given to that area. It's just wrong to compare the two.

If you don't like it compare MEA to any other RPG then, FO4, Skyrim, Oblivion, heck even ME1 all have far more robust CC's than MEA.

But then I've always tended to love the Sims 2 style of game which the Sims 4 harks back to. Both are good games, just depends on what you prefer. Though the big gender patch they brought in for Sims 4 was really brilliant and I never thought EA would make that move in fear of offending people. Specially considering the resources that would take to make and it was free

EA may not like that gender stuff, but they do love money. It's probably one of the better things they allowed.

All the gloating in this thread makes me sad to actually be associated with certain communities. And then they wonder why people complain about agendas being "shoved in their faces". Anyway.... Having played (a lot) those same older games is why I am so disappointed in MEA's CC. It lacks even the basic functionality of CC's much older than itself. When someone can point to Oblivion as a better CC than your game in 2017 you have utterly failed. OT but the CC is the only part about Sims 4 that I liked Personally, I don't mind the CC in MEA and I really liked the new female preset, but I find it puzzling that a 2017 game doesn't have an option to alter the character's eye/nose/mouth shape. And that "eyebrows tied to complexion" thing... yeah. But I really have no business commenting on that, I play the default ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Odd thing to say, there were some 30 advertised gameplay, quest and dialogue option patch adjustments, which were largely well received. I don't know what patch notes you are reading?
Could you please direct me to the FULL patch notes list? It isn't in this thread, at least as far as SP goes.
All that is listed is: Ryder’s appearance can now be changed onboard the Tempest Expanded the range of options available in the character creator Jaal can now be romanced by Scott Ryder Dialogue for Hainly Abrams was adjusted to change the flow of personal information she discusses with Ryder. Fixed issue with Nomad upgrades Shield Crafting quest Nexus level and cryo pod points are retroactively granted Vendors now carry weapon mods for Level 60-71 players Vendors now sell weapon augmentations for automatic fire, burst fire, and single-shot fire Improved clarity of descriptions for augmentations Plasma Charge system now works properly for shotguns Beam Emitter augmentation now causes guns to fire a constant beam with scaling damage based on the weapon’s damage per second [PC] Added experimental support for Dolby Vision™ technology
Where does the number 30 come from based on this?

So basically 45 pages of whinny little bees trying to mask homophobia with lame "they could have used the *resources* to make Jaal bi for something else waaah" or "he was str8 at release and that's it gosh darn it waaah" and on and on. But no matter how much you try to polish it, a turd is a turd. It's basically set on repeat every 2-3 pages, since people like this lack the intelligence to come up with something original so they are just parroting each other. Either way, a pathetic display. It has it's upside though. I don't have to pay to go to the zoo and see chimps (or was it baboons? meh they're both kind of hysterical so it works either way) scream and throw poo at each other, I can come here.

MTE. That explains it. I don't have much patience with CCs if the default one pleases me already, even less it sucks to pull some good out of it, like MEA's. I'm not as frustrated, but I get yours. DAI's was quite decent, hard to understand the downgrade. In fact, it's hard to understand how all of this happened with MEA. Hopefully, a sequel builds on the foundation and expands it for good. My guess is the MEA team was less experienced with the engine than the DAI team, and had less time to master it (DAI was delayed). Frostbite is apparently not the best choice for games like DA and ME, and is more suited for games like Battlefront and Anthem. EA wants all their games on Frostbite though, so they have to find a way to make it work. Sims 4 was a near disaster when they made it on that engine too. My fav were the horror babies in it. That glitch was a mother's nightmare! They looked like Slenderman's offspring. Frostbite is a great engine, Montreal needed more people that know what they're doing and not a different engine. Also: DAI: pre-prod - 2011; shipped - 2014 MEA: pre-prod - 2012; shipped - 2017 And the DA team delivered all the missing RPG mechanics by the time Andromeda went into full production, and they had to support 5 platforms, unlike MEA, which only ran on 3. All that after years of being used to Aurora/Eclipse. Montreal simply lacks skill and experience. Also, I don't know what nonsense you've read, the Sims never came even close to using Frostbite. Maxis makes their own game engines. Those games are so specific, wrangling FB to work with it would probably be not worth the effort. But for the rest it makes sense. FIFA introduced a story mode thanks to the tools the DA team made, and MEA used driving mechanics made by the NFS team. Unifying development under one engine was one of the few great ideas EA had.

Also, EA has put alot of resources into Sims 4 and improved it immensely since launch - a lot through free patches. Just cus you don't like Sims 4 compared to 3 doesn't mean EA is deliberately destroying the franchise. They are two different games - Sims 4 is mainly influenced by Sims 2 which considering how much hate Sims 3 got when it launched for the changes is probably influencing the direction. Sims 4 also doesn't have the Sims Store which was heavily criticized for basically being a money grab. EA has mucked up in the past but I've seen them make many great steps forward in the last few years and I am kinda fed up with EA being made the bogeyman.

You said that Sims 4 was made with Frostbite. Biotic Apostate correctly told you that it wasn't and you were kinda rude about it. You may not have meant to come across that way but that's how it seemed

I saw you saying S4 runs on Frostbite, noticed nobody corrected you yet, and did just that.

Holy shit there are a lot of retards on this forum. As for the CC you can have a good one but use scans. Just look at the WWE2K and NBA2K series 2k gets mocked quite a bit for those scans, they really aren't that good. there are youtube videos of people scanning themselves and it looks like them. The default scans are great but you can make a great looking character

And the thread needs to take a rest while some serious cleaning up happens. UPDATE: After reviewing not only recent pages, but much of the thread, it's pretty clear that that there's more salt and unpleasantness than can be reasonably cleaned up, so as people have shared their views at length about the patch, we're closing the thread here. And when these debates surface on other threads, let's be a bit nicer to each other. [x] Stay classy, BSN
