Patch 1.08 notes and discussion (June 8, 8AM PDT)

I made a Ryder I'm satysfied with, but the cc is still very, very limited. And there is still something wrong (for me) in the eyes: the iris lack detail, the colour seem quite flat...

I know and believe me, I was against it too despite evidence pointing to him being unfinished. They showed that by doing this, people can attempt to demand something and use that as a reason to make their wishes happen. It was poorly done. Just admitting it was cut would have been better than dragging this on forever. For me, Jaal will always be straight because he was shipped straight. A part of my mind can't undo that fact, but the patching itself was very minor for his romance. They spent most of their time reanimating the face expressions and fixing cutscenes like the Tempest.

Did you know they have other hairstyles in-game that only the NPC's get? I was so sure we'd get those for our Ryders, but we got only the opposite gender ones.

Oh I'm just good at mastering CC. I spent years with the Sims, and even made decent non-modded Oblivion toons, so this CC is child's play for me, but as a real life artist, I would have loved more variety.

My guess is the MEA team was less experienced with the engine than the DAI team, and had less time to master it (DAI was delayed). Frostbite is apparently not the best choice for games like DA and ME, and is more suited for games like Battlefront and Anthem. EA wants all their games on Frostbite though, so they have to find a way to make it work. Sims 4 was a near disaster when they made it on that engine too. My fav were the horror babies in it. That glitch was a mother's nightmare! They looked like Slenderman's offspring.

I doubt they just called Tom and Nyasha back in to add a bunch of romantic lines. That costs and the extra Scott/Jaal files found were to avoid wasting money in the first place, but they made only 2 or 3, so they had to get they actors to do more. Likely they just killed two birds with one stone.

This is not a very sensible argument. The writers and voice talent can't be used to fix bugs anyway; wrong skillset.

We know Jaal may have shipped straight, but there is ample evidence to suggest he was not always that way. The developers heard the outcry from a very vocal audience and decided to make a wrong a right. Gay players did not receive a squadmate and no romance with equal content, while everybody else did. The Angara are a sexually fluid alien race, and no matter how many straight women cry about how Patch 1.08 ruined Jaal for them or somehow made Jaal love Sara even more, it doesn't change the fact that Jaal is now canon bisexual, and there is no amount of tears that can change that. I'm not even sorry to see hearts broken or tempers raging over this. It is done. Get over it and whine about Sara's eyes again or Cora's hair because we all know that is all gamer bros care about.

You better add the black and brown stripes to insure some more people get pissed off too!
