Patch 1.08 notes and discussion (June 8, 8AM PDT)

You two are ones of the most active people on #MakeJaalBi. Despite people making fun of the tag and people in it, I'd say it was worth it. I remember the day when the patch note was out. It was a party there.

Now I just need to finish my Jaal playthrough to become an official Jaal-mancer!

Yeah, we couldn't have been so annoying to the devs if we didn't get blocked. We were more than civil towards them, and they heard us. They didn't cave. That implies we held them at gunpoint and kidnapped their house pets. Nothing like that even remotely occurred. Haters gonna hate while we are having ourselves a celebration during Pride month like we deserved.

Actually I have not finished it yet. I am the slowest Jaal of all.

Oh god I love how Ryder guides Jaal down. It's beautiful.

That's a relief fam! I was so abstracted trying to fight the negative, obvious and blatant homophobia in this thread, and that scene is precious for us but for them triggering worthy

you know, one of the best things about being a salty bitch and not having bought MEA at launch it's to enjoy the game with the patches, I didnt experience major flaws and that's good. Jaal's romance was a big plus too!

The CC is kinda weak and I prefer DAI's CC, but I managed to create a cute Ryder. I still dont understand why I have wrinkles at 22 years old. But welp! Space magic xD 

I have supported LGBT rights in real life. I've marched in protest including against neo-nazism in my country. But to you, I am homophobe because I dislike a fictional character being rewritten? I've expressed support of gay content in the past and now on these forums and on the old forums. To you, I am a homophobe because I dislike a fictional character being changed despite what I criticise having nothing to do with sexuality? 

As you've never presented a reason for your generalization, I have to go by what I can interpret and it seems that you are annoyed because you feel people prioritize the consistency of a fictional character over the happiness the change has brought real life people who, like others, use the games as escapism. 

If so then that would not be a bad argument but it's not the argument made. You're just saying that every person who feel differently than you is a homophobe, a statement that does not hold merit. That's not what the word homophobia is about: homophobia is about fear, hatred, discomfort, apathy and mistrust of people because of their sexual orientation. Whether by intent or not, you are misusing it word as a way of being dismissive of every opinion that is not the same as yours. That is not what the word is about.    

As I've said, I am glad that people now have a squadmate that avoids the usual trends. I am. Truely. I'm not arguing for Jaal to be changed back.  I'm arguing against the precedence of a character being rewritten being used in the future. If a character should change then I'd like to see it done over the course of the story or as DLC. As character development and not rewriting or retcons.    

There's no salt or tears from me on this. I care about a great deal many things but an internet argument is not one of those things. 

By the way, I like your little gif. It's very sweet. It reminds me of a comic I'm reading. 

You misunderstand me, as always happens on these bloody forums. All this patch has led to are 40 pages of sexual orientation discussion. I want to see talk about the improvements to the game, not the same discussions that appear to inhabit every thread in Mass Effect forums. I am glad that they added to Jaal the way they did, I always think the romances should be playersexual so everyone can experience the romance they want from the options available. But damn, I'd much rather see talk about what has been fixed, whether it worked, what else is needed to be worked on and how, rather than seeing people complaining and arguing over sexual orientation.

That's what I want from the next patch, as once that comes out, then we have a new patch to discuss.

I never said that though. I said I made some decent Oblivion toons, so CC is easy for me with any game. MEA has realistic human faces, with amazing expressions, bright eyes and many ways to shape them, but with DAI's style added it could have been even more amazing. So far DAI and MEA are my fav CC in all the games I've played. Sims 4 is my biggest hate.
