Why the heck do you have to be a ginger in order to be able to play a pale white character? You don't. People really are underestimating the effect of the change to the CC Some paler characters I bashed out while listening to the election

Where are the FULL patch notes? You know, the ones that list the actual bugs they supposedly fixed?

So, they fixed the unlimited experience points glitch on Voeld? Man, this game has been so tedious to me that the only thing keeping my interest in continuing was my ability to max out every power and have my pick. I honestly can't say that I'll finish the game now.

I feel like I should be able to return my copy of MEA to the store because "it's broken" even after all these patches. This last patch was particularly embarrassing for BW; it's like the devs just applied lipstick and sprinkled glitter to my game, and said, "It's fixed now." No, it's fucking not! Quests are still bugged, Sara Ryder it still missing from all of Alec Ryder's memory cut scenes, and I still get that infinite loading screen loop at game start 25% of the time! But they made Jaal bi clearly that's more important than being able to do quest.

Who the hell was that on stage behind Corbyn? Is the Silly Party real? Lord Buckethead got 249 votes in Theresa May's constituency, beating the Official Monster Raving Loony candidate who got 100 and something. They tend to stand in leaders constituencies. All elections seem to be crazy these days, anyway. Turnout seems to be up a bunch, which is great.

Lol, you can actually change heads on the Tempest mid-game now. Totally not a weird thing, Ryder suddenly transforms into someone else completely different and no one bats an eye on that I guess it's good for anyone who don't care about lore/story/immersion implications, but I just can't get past the hilariousness of the situation if I do that XD

As stated earlier this "upgrade" to the CC didn't do much for me. I was hoping to improve my Ryder a bit, but no such luck. Still, she looks decent enough as is. I do wonder however what made Bioware's ambition shift from this: ...to what we finally got. I keep seeing this come up, as I skim the thread; so I felt like I should address it. This is absolutely not a pic of a CC that ever existed in the real world. This is concept art. We saw a lot of the art from this portfolio shared back in April. Many pics were posted here on the BSN. This is high-level concept work, a "what if?" type of thing for the CC. It never actually existed in this form. If you look at the image, you can see just how flat and "un-gamey" it looks.

Yeah, I mean, if it's just changing hair or make up I can understand, but I just find it funny that you can actually change the entirety of Ryder's head as well, and if you do that, no one would freak out or give a shit, lol.

Sorry, but why exactly is it a really bad idea? If the whole romance circlejerk wasn't enough, now when people wants to romance someone that they can't in future games they'll ask for more romance through patches. "Remember when you patched the Jaal romance ? Why can't you do it with my favorite character ?", and we'll see more people talking shit about how much Bioware doesn't care about representation . I don't think that's true. This was clearly a special case for them because they realized that the criticism about the lack of gay male romances so that gay male players could roleplay properly was a fair criticism, if they value inclusivity. And they have long demonstrated that they value it. ME1 was groundbreaking in some ways in its romance system -- and that your Shep could be gay. To them this is fulfilling the legacy and expectations of the franchise and its fans. It's just not the same as people asking for more romances because they happen to like the character best or find that character more attractive.

PeeBee is not a woman haha, right... Homophobic bullshit. Except Bioware itself has said on multiple occasions that asari are not female bc there race is single-sexed, rendering the concepts of male/female irrelevant. I think it's stupid too, but it doesn't change the fact that it is BW canon that asari are not female or male. Okay yes, that is true, but this game exists as a product in our 'real' world/market, where the (or at least many of) asari's gender presentation is female. Liara is voiced by a woman actor, has a feminine body composition, and feminine facial features; she is simply blue with strange hair. So no, Liara isn't technically "female" in the game's lore/codex, but she isn't androgynous for example; the romance b/t Liara and femShep reads as a f/f one to most players.

It's lighter than what we had before, but only slightly. The only pale complexion is the one with freckles and ginger eyebrows.

Still don't see the big deal. He still likes women. If he was turned gay and Sara lost him, then I would see reason to be upset. Jaal is Jaal and the bi code was always in the coding and never removed. We all checked after each patch. In my game right now, he's stlll the exact same way with everything. The big deal is that they changed a character after the game's release. To appease the angry fans. Let's make Suvi and Gil bi then - what's the big deal, they would still be into Sara and Scott respectively? Why is it ok to turn a straight character bi, but not gay or lesbian characters? Because this patch is about adding options for players, not taking options away. To change a gay character to straight or a straight character to gay (eliminating options) is not the same as changing a straight character to bi (adding options). In one, another romance is added; in another, it is removed. In one, fluidity is easily explained (many people are gender fluid or sexually fluid without ever even acting on that); in another case, it makes no actual sense -- why would you change a gay character straight and delete an option? And a lot of people who are bi or even gay grow up thinking they are straight and even have long-term same-sex relationships and realize later that they were in denial about being queer

If Bioware is going to go down this route they might as just make all romance options bi so no one can say Bioware hate gays, women, or whoever because they can't fuck characters x and y. I romanced Reyes as a female Ryder but tbh it wasn't as satisfying (story wise) as romancing squad mates, as in all other ME games. There isn't really a climax, you just kind of dance with him or something. I don't know about Gil's, bc I would never fuck that dude IRL, but he just hangs around the ship and never comes out with you to do any of the story with you. So they added a squad mate option, and now everyone has the option of a satisfying roleplay romance if that's what they're looking for. Frankly I have never been satisfied by romances in these games and don't always do them. In my replay of MEA I would probably romance no one. As a straight girl I would try a romance with Vetra before Liam bc ugh. But it is important to the fandom overall to have a romance that matches their IRL sexuality, and Bioware is recognizing that they didn't offer a "true" romance in the ME style to gay male players, so they fixed it. ETA: I'm replaying the trilogy right now with a first-time romancing of Liara (Kaidan, Jacob, and Garrus previously), and with the Shadow Broker DLC included in the ME2 play I think it is the most satisfying one overall. Especially because she goes from bookish to badass. Bc Kaidan is mostly boring and on Horizon is awful to you and totally absent, and then Jacob is...Jacob, and Garrus is basically a lizard-person, so it's fine characterwise but really weird otherwise. So you have mostly awful squadmate options for straight women, but I would never complain to them about that, bc they offered me the options; I just didn't like the way they wrote the two human male characters, and the other was just too ugly and weird. It's the same with Liam in MEA: as the only human male squadmate available to a straight or bi SisRyder, he is AWFUL, I would kill him on Virmire and be alone forever. And I first romanced Jaal before Reyes and had to stop because I just did not want that sex scene in there, at least not with my first playthrough.... But if they had only offered me Reyes and Gil, and no Liam or ugly penis Jaal (who are actually part of your squad and the story), I would have been frustrated enough to at least send them a tweet saying that a Ryder w/ "my" sexuality had no real options. That's what I mean when I say it is not about changing characters' sexuality to appease player desires to romance particular characters, but to be inclusive of people they realized they accidentally excluded, so that they could at least have the option of a complete romance instead of a fling.

After four completionist PTs, I've had my fill of MEA for the present. That being the case, I've no intention of personally investigating 1.08 anytime soon. That explanation for my apparent laziness out of the way, I'll ask my question.
Has the X5 Ghost been fixed with this patch? It had two issues. First, it can't be deconstructed. Secondly, it has the incorrect number of augmentation slots. It either needs +1 slots, or it needs to be made Common and stripped of its Research costs. Has anyone built or deconstructed a Ghost that could speak to these points?

If Bioware is going to go down this route they might as just make all romance options bi so no one can say Bioware hate gays, women, or whoever because they can't fuck characters x and y. The other two are not squadmate, first of all. Second of all, Reyes was made for female before badly modified for males, making the romance awkward when you're referring to in female pronounce, being called Reyes' "queen" while Gil's content is only half the length of the other romance. Third of all, there is a lack of polish in general where they don't even acknowledge the relationship in a way that you could romance both at the same time while there is confrontation with the other straight romances if you romance both. Fourth, they created a trophy required you to romance 3 people, but there is only 2 options, meaning you couldn't get it as a gay player. Fifth of all, it has been a continuous tradition in ME series where the gay players not only get the least option, but their option is modified from the opposite gender like with Reyes. By adding Jaal, it's more about giving the gay player the ability to get the trophy, something they overlook from the gay options while creating the trophy, as well as allowing gay players a squadmate romance that has plot relevant. I could care less if they go for playersexual, maybe the quality of the gay romance would increase, instead of leftover or afterthought like with set sexuality. Still, Bioware has decided to go with the set sexuality. I doubt they change their approach.

Something I'd really like them to do is add more Renegade-ish dialogue so I can use the intimidating Skull tattoo without feeling thoroughly ridiculous when I say any line of dialogue in the game. I still don't understand why that's there.

No idea. Finished my second playthrough a few hours before 1.08. Will try later to see if it works. ps: People here seem more interested in "ra ra ra hate Jaal/ra ra ra love Jaal!" Even tried asking about datamined files before but seems that almost no one pay attention to this...
