So, they fixed the unlimited experience points glitch on Voeld? Man, this game has been so tedious to me that the only thing keeping my interest in continuing was my ability to max out every power and have my pick. I honestly can't say that I'll finish the game now. Is it really fun being able to boost your way to max power? For me? Yes.

Gil and that Hispanic guy don't count as gay romances? If Bioware is going to go down this route they might as just make all romance options bi so no one can say Bioware hate gays, women, or whoever because they can't fuck characters x and y. I romanced Reyes as a female Ryder but tbh it wasn't as satisfying (story wise) as romancing squad mates, as in all other ME games. There isn't really a climax, you just kind of dance with him or something. I don't know about Gil's, bc I would never fuck that dude IRL, but he just hangs around the ship and never comes out with you to do any of the story with you. So they added a squad mate option, and now everyone has the option of a satisfying roleplay romance if that's what they're looking for. Frankly I have never been satisfied by romances in these games and don't always do them. In my replay of MEA I would probably romance no one. As a straight girl I would try a romance with Vetra before Liam bc ugh. But it is important to the fandom overall to have a romance that matches their IRL sexuality, and Bioware is recognizing that they didn't offer a "true" romance in the ME style to gay male players, so they fixed it. ETA: I'm replaying the trilogy right now with a first-time romancing of Liara (Kaidan, Jacob, and Garrus previously), and with the Shadow Broker DLC included in the ME2 play I think it is the most satisfying one overall. Especially because she goes from bookish to badass. Bc Kaidan is mostly boring and on Horizon is awful to you and totally absent, and then Jacob is...Jacob, and Garrus is basically a lizard-person, so it's fine characterwise but really weird otherwise. So you have mostly awful squadmate options for straight women, but I would never complain to them about that, bc they offered me the options; I just didn't like the way they wrote the two human male characters, and the other was just too ugly and weird. It's the same with Liam in MEA: as the only human male squadmate available to a straight or bi SisRyder, he is AWFUL, I would kill him on Virmire and be alone forever. And I first romanced Jaal before Reyes and had to stop because I just did not want that sex scene in there, at least not with my first playthrough.... But if they had only offered me Reyes and Gil, and no Liam or ugly penis Jaal (who are actually part of your squad and the story), I would have been frustrated enough to at least send them a tweet saying that a Ryder w/ "my" sexuality had no real options. That's what I mean when I say it is not about changing characters' sexuality to appease player desires to romance particular characters, but to be inclusive of people they realized they accidentally excluded, so that they could at least have the option of a complete romance instead of a fling. Well said. I'm doing the exact same thing as you are. I'm a heterosexual male IRL and I'm romancing Liara for the first time. I was disappointed with new Ash in ME3, but stayed loyal to her. My next run was Renegade so I got "jiggy" with every female except Jack. My conscious wouldn't let me go there... ever. Miranda didn't disappoint. Samara and those blue assets. Morinth and wanting to turn her into a Banshee because holy cow... evil ass predator. I wanted Aria like everyone else on Omega. Hell I wanted EDI because Tricia Helfer sold her. However, that's not the highlight for me... ever. It's the great storytelling that brings it all together. That's what was so precious about the original trilogy, at least for me. ME3's ending was messed up, but for me, the Citadel was a perfect ending before the Extended DLC. Andromeda took a lot of great elements from the original trilogy. It still needs DLC to complete the canvas.

As stated earlier this "upgrade" to the CC didn't do much for me. I was hoping to improve my Ryder a bit, but no such luck. Still, she looks decent enough as is. I do wonder however what made Bioware's ambition shift from this: ...to what we finally got. I keep seeing this come up, as I skim the thread; so I felt like I should address it. This is absolutely not a pic of a CC that ever existed in the real world. This is concept art. We saw a lot of the art from this portfolio shared back in April. Many pics were posted here on the BSN. This is high-level concept work, a "what if?" type of thing for the CC. It never actually existed in this form. If you look at the image, you can see just how flat and "un-gamey" it looks. I"m aware of that. I'm talking about the level of ambition on Bioware's part, not about downgrading.

The next time someone complains about Bisexual Jaal, I'm gonna throw numbers at them. Numbers of Bioware romances. Because I did the math. And in another thread I broke it all down. and yeaaahhh Straight Gents: 30 Straight Ladies: 28 Bi Ladies and Gents: 35 (13 of which arnt real romances or are simple one night stands and/or flirting)Gay Gents: 5 Gay Ladies: 4 When you think that the Office for National Statistics in 2013 found that roughly 1.5% identify as gay or lesbian then overall having roughly 10% of all Bioware romances as gay or lesbian is rather a strong turn out. It would be better if all romances were bi though, just so players can find characters ingame that they can romance rather than being restricted. At the end of the day this is just a game, and by giving us all the options we can play the games as we want to.

The big deal is that they changed a character after the game's release. To appease the angry fans. Let's make Suvi and Gil bi then - what's the big deal, they would still be into Sara and Scott respectively? Why is it ok to turn a straight character bi, but not gay or lesbian characters? Because this patch is about adding options for players, not taking options away. To change a gay character to straight or a straight character to gay (eliminating options) is not the same as changing a straight character to bi (adding options). In one, another romance is added; in another, it is removed. In one, fluidity is easily explained (many people are gender fluid or sexually fluid without ever even acting on that); in another case, it makes no actual sense -- why would you change a gay character straight and delete an option? And a lot of people who are bi or even gay grow up thinking they are straight and even have long-term same-sex relationships and realize later that they were in denial about being queer Selective reading much? The question was "Let's make Suvi and Gil bi then - what's the big deal, they would still be into Sara and Scott respectively?" That would be exactly the same thing they did to Jaal - a simple re-writing and ADDITION to romance-pool, not subtraction. I, for one, like Gil, my Sara would romance him, and many men would love to love Suvi. Yet, for you turning gay character "bi" is killing gay romance, somehow "taking option away", but turning straight character bi - expanding romances.

I'd vote for a Suvi-Scott Ryder romance, however, I'd vote more for distinct asari rather than the 19,999 clones that arrived in Andromeda.

Hm, not a whole lot in this patch to comment on, besides the amazing addition of mods that can adjust rate of fire. I suppose the new Facial Presets are a positive addition in some form. At least there is another pale white option besides the default faces.

That brings up a good q that I'm genuinely curious about. Would the voice and animations that were taken out on male Ryder's end for the Suvi romance still be in the game somewhere? From what I gather, it's the same or at least similar to the current one. May have a chance to salvage it for a mod. Plus, I know there's a mod for Sara to have a romance with Gil (well, all romance mod) but not for the new editor. Probably shouldn't be too much to remove the flags, though with the new one. Just thinking off the top of my head for folks who want a Sara/Gil romance storyline.

I not going to hold my breath on them doing it because apparently that would take away from gay romances somehow.

Definitely leave the devs themselves to finally focus on (hopefully) fixing the game and bugs. I was speculating purely for the modders since the modding community just kicked up into full force with the new tools.

On standard PS4 there is nice performance boost with v1.08 but the cost of some special effects inside the Vaults. The overall game now got a better contrast, and now the dark places got a bit of more light because some places in the Vaults where too dark. The AI is not improved however some enemies got better script such like the Destroyer inside the Voeld secret room. Destroyer now got normal shield and armor. Also everything is improved visually, even Sara in armor is improved the game is visually sharper than before, the game runs at more stable framerate, better motion blur but again the cost of some effects and a bit of lower quality textures. Shadows and lightning is still the same, this is not the highest quality compared to the PC version i think this is High setting.

I haven't installed the patch so far. But seeing as there's still the bitching about gay, bi, straight going on, I guess I have to find other places to look if it makes or breaks certain aspects of the game.
There's another thread about characters suddenly having no voice. Something on these lines would certainly be more interesting.

I know...I'm still waiting for someone to point me to the rest of the patch notes about actual bug fixes since I can't find them posted anywhere. Not here, not on the patch notes site.
It's like the only thing that matters is the Jaal romance being "fixed".

So can you change the appearance of an already created character with the patch ? Yes. You'll get an email telling you how, so you shouldn't miss it. Lexi lets you know there's now a 'facial reconstruction station' in the med bay. It's next to the point respec station.

You don't. People really are underestimating the effect of the change to the CC Some paler characters I bashed out while listening to the election Nope, that still isn't actually pale. It's lighter than what we had before, but only slightly. The only pale complexion is the one with freckles and ginger eyebrows. I don't know... Complexion 9 on male face 10 with the skin tone set to 0.00 is pretty damn pale. It just doesn't have that pinkish tint.

All the others are tinted yellow or brown, complexion 10 is the only "Caucasian" one. And its ginger. Now sure why Bioware gets so stubborn about these things or why just having a normal looking caucasian woman in the game is such a horrible thing to them.

Now sure why Bioware gets so stubborn about these things or why just having a normal looking caucasian woman in the game is such a horrible thing to them. Try complexion 1 on face 10 for female... I believe that was really pale as well. I did, and like I said all the other skin textures have a deep yellow or brown tint to them, even the default skin. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if mod'ers can save the day and come up with some new skin textures since BW seems adamant not to do it.

The yellowish tint that even the lightest skin tone option has throws me off. I don't see why they couldn't have made one extra version of complexion 10 without freckles/ginger eyebrows.

Yep, that would have been perfect.
