I personally prefer lower graphics... doubt anyone else here forces ME:A into 800x600 resolution. Lower graphics and lower resolution mean quicker time through loading screens and back to the game. Hands in! I am playing it on a 8yo PC and my graphics are pure sh*t! When I am on Voeld I can barely watch the screen because the light reflection blinds me. Subtitles during bright scenes are almost unreadable and the Nomand keeps freezing every 5-6 seconds. In a way, I feel like a hero. You are. Don't believe different.

The Asari clones issue may be a non-issue for most and I respect your opinion, but I just can't get why some are defending these things. I just don't.I never will. Bioware should have done what they did in the trilogy. See this? The main characters have unique models and the rest are a variation of the same fave.Yes , they look similar BUT they look distinctive enough from each other. In the trilogy I could tell the difference between Shiala,Rana Thanoptis and Tela Vasir. But if you showed me Dr.Aridana, Kalinda,Keri or Sarissa...I wouldn't know who is who.

Anyway, see ?This game proves my point. Memorable Asari?Andromeda has none. The same faces everywhere make the characters less memorable.

It's not something easy to fix. The most we can expect is that they add new faces for the asari inside DLC content, as they have done in the past with previous downloadable content. That of course is supposing that they are/will make DLC...

Maybe the modding community could try at least different face tatoos or something color wise to hide how identical they are? Or go to specific characters NPC files and try editing those so the army of clones don't look just like Lexi and Sarissa. funnily enough you should mention that, I stumbled upon/installed [this mod] a little while ago. Haven't gotten to the asari ark mission yet in my current playthrough but its pretty cool how slight tweaks can make a difference!

They look so much better in the vanilla game that what this mod does.

That is how games work. It is not hard, at all, with their toolkit.

I don't see any particular reason that the voices and the character models have to line up that way, the only unique template might be the markings and the colours (Peebee aside). That said it's more likely that every character, voiced or not, has a "use template X" and they just all happen to point at the same one. Certainly voiced lines won't have anything to do with it (and I'd guess that every human, asari, and angara share the same underlying model for lip synching).

There's actually a very simple explanation for this. A few centuries ago, when asari culture was moving toward exogamy and a preference for mating with other species, the great-great-great-grandmother of the asari we see in Andromeda rebelled against that policy. She moved to an isolated world and refused to randomize her second set of genes, thus cloning herself. Her offspring did likewise, generation after generation, and the asari clone colony grew. When a recruiter for the Andromeda Initiative stopped by the colony to discharge, many of the inhabitants volunteered for the expedition. Kalinda heard about the Ai from her identical cousin still living at the colony, and brought PeeBee on board. And this is why they all look alike.

I'm not giving BioWare a pass, but on my list of immersion breaking things, sameface is somewhere near the bottom. BioWare should do better, of course, but realistically, they have constraints on them that obviously cause them to prioritize other things over npc faces. Such is the way producing a product on time and within the budget.

I know because I have been modding BW games for 13 years. In the old Aurora Engine, every NPC had a .utc, short for Unique Character Template with a little dyslexia. It is a pretty common structure.

Such is the way producing a product on time and within the budget. You are giving Bioware a pass. I can understand the other races cause they are based on lizards, birds, and other creatures. Asari are essentially blue human females with tentacles in place for hair. In addition, as the above chart shows, in the MET there was more variety in Asari faces, so whats the excuse for MEA? Like many other things in MEA, Bioware dropped the ball, plain and simple.
