Of course, developer, company and staff statements are always facts. Better than article with a bad rep. So you only want to believe things that reinforces your perspective? Looks like denial to me....

I never liked nor trusted media, and you love using the word denial a lot, but the fact is, until EA or BW say something, I'm not listening period.

I go with my gut, not how wonderful he is, and I don't trust him. This whole thing just feels really off, but I can't put a finger on what it is. Course you do. Because you only believe what what meets your own desires and opinions. Most people do that, sadly. Not only with something trivial as games.

Yeah, sure. I know nothing about the matter. I only worked as the senior editor of a magazine specialised in advertising and PR since 1997, retired in June. So I know nothing on how to judge company and PR statements and the validity of journalistic work. As opposed to your expertise, obviously.

Better than article with a bad rep. AFAIK, the author of the article in question has an excellent rep and has broken several stories in the past. Outside of BSN, I've never heard anybody complain about him. Well, there was that time he reported that No Man's Sky would get delayed, then like two days later it was officially announced that it was delayed, which prompted a slew of death threats from some irate NMS "fans" (how you can be a fan of something that yet exists I don't know) blaming Jason himself for it being delayed.

Outside of BSN, I've never heard anybody complain about him. I don't really question his reporting, just his opinion. I'm sure it's true that there are less people at Bioware Montreal, and we know that's true because EA confirmed that. They were moved to existing products, minus a small team for MP balance, patches, and DLC. His interpretation that it's "gutted" is just an opinion. He stated that Montreal didn't expect to be downsized/shuffled, and that's probably true. But with Anthem delayed and DA4 in early production, it makes sense to put them on current projects to get them on track. Since they were so busy with crunch at the end, it makes sense they wouldn't necessarily be talking future plans because the "right now" was such a crisis. Then he says he doubts there will be DLC. That's a straight up opinion. No one he interviewed said that, his quote in the recent Reddit thing is that it's his opinion. The point is he says none of this is normal, and that may be true. The crunch of MEA wasn't normal, the reception was not, even Montreal working on a main game was not normal. So his reporting on that is fine. But his opinion on what that means for the future of ME is what I have issue with. It's not fact and it was refuted by what EA had to say. But people will either believe a "journalist's" opinion, or the company that makes the game. Personally, the numbers suggest a financial success, and EA will want to use the investment put into getting those ME assets into Frostbite. It'll be cheaper and faster to make the next MEA, with much stricter management, but it would be stupid to not cash in on a proven money maker.

Allow people to live in their own bubble refusing to use logic and common sense. If someone wants to believe MEA was a critical and financial success that will have an abundance of story DLC and spawn a few sequels, let them. It only makes it more hilarious when all their hopes never come to fruition.

Both ME2 and ME3 had DLCs before those. ME2 had Kasumi, among other small ones and ME3 had the Extended Cut. And that's ignoring day 1 DLC. I keep forgetting that Kasumi and Zaeed are actually DLC additions, but overall they're rather small additions, basically just being the companions themselves and the one mission with little else added on to the game other than filling up a certain space on the Normandy with their stuff. The Extended Cut is kind of a special case though, because it came to a point where it felt like people were literally throwing shit at their own computers in protest.

All that said, it's indeed too soon to know if MEA will have a sp DLC or not. I was confident it would, now I'm not so sure. I'd say it's 50-50. But if there is one, it will almost certainly be the only one. I only included DLCs that were major story expansions. Kasumi was basically a loyalty mission that probably should have been in the main game, same with Zaeed. Same goes for the From Ashes ME3 dlc which was basically cut material from the base game.
But yeah, I see your point. damn straight. EA, Enthusiasm Annihilated.

But these missionss play to Bioware's strengths of old. Creating multifacetted, engaging and ikeable characters that go through a lot of strive because of previous experiences. These msissions were good, because they told us what we needed to know about the particular characters and were fun to play on the side. Which is more than can be said on MEAs characters, since they spill most of their goodies i nthe first conversation. Again, Peebee and Drack get a pass.

This is one of those weaknesses in Andromeda for me. PeeBee, grew on me, but it took time. Drack didn't take long to like and then want around most often.

Nobody gets a pass! Nah, but seriously of all the characters I liked their banter the most, Drack especially, that whole bit about why he wears the animal bones did make me laugh out loud, and Peebee didn't annoy me as a character, just the lack of subtlety with her writing, that bump-meet, sheesh come on!

How long after release are the DLCs typically announced? Uh, Bioware don't annouce DLCs until a week or 2 within official release. This is why I find the DLC hysteria disturbing. it's like people are having (selective) memory loss. It hasn't even been 3 months.
