Boycott Anthem & SWBF2 til April 2018

Boycott?

At this point I think it'd be way more effective to just walk away and wait for BioWare to impress us.
Don't be the toxic entitled haters of old, but just be disinterested.

Won't be boycotting per se but despite being a loyal bioware customer for years if they are changing tack away from single player RPG experience towards a MMO focus i won't be following them as i have no interest whatsoever in that type of game. I'll just have a much narrower pool of developers to support.

I watched the Anthem trailer this morning. It moved something in me in the first seconds. Then they climbed to their suits and started shooting at things.

Dude, that's not how boycott works. You gotta boycott buying it - not pretendending to do so until half a year before launch, lol.

Yeah I know its repeating what I said on the other thread but I think its perfectly on topic, so here what I have to say about this situation :

For anthem, I would say that for the first time in my life, I am not excited for a bioware game. The gameplay and combat looks fine because, well it is the super combat of MEA but made better, so it looks nice.

But that said, it really look like a destiny clone with a more fleshed out story. The problem with that is even if the story is well done, I won't give a fuck about it because its just not my type of game. I bought destiny, but only the year two version with the first 3 big dlc at a reduce price, and even then I did not liked it that much, it was fine but that's it.

The only reason I played Swtor is that even if it is an MMO, it had the bioware classic storytelling, that was what I was looking for and I founded it and I absolutely loved it, I made the 8 story classes in a short amount of time and did the expansion with all the enthusiasm possible. I play it 3 months a year by waiting for more content to be made, in between the moment where I finish it,

But for Anthem, nothing shows me I will love the game, a "better made destiny" is not what I except from Bioware. It might be good and maybe people will love it, but if it does not have the bioware classic storytelling, with dialogue option, romance, companion, moral choices to allow for multiple playthrought, I will probably just wait a year until it gets on sale then pick it up. That is something I cannot do for a bioware game that I have to get on release day.

I will be cautious with that game, for now I am much more hyped for MEA dlc's.

I wish a few more people with these (legitimate) views would take that last piece of advice.

Going to easy to boycott something I never wanted. If DA4 gets the MEA treatment I'm done with Bioware.

It shouldn't do as I think they've got the DAI team working on DA4 and considering how well  DAI did I'm reasonably confident DA4 wlil hopefully match the quality of DAI if not improve on it.

It's the very first time I'm forced to use Ctrl C, Ctrl V for a name. I can't call him Uut for short. It doesn't work. Besides, the OP loves to shares information on free games so he gets extra attention from me. It's his impassioned opinion and I hear his case. However, I also see gainful employment so I'll judge the games on their own merit. A smart poster here said that EA is slapping the BioWare name on everything so it's hard to judge what essential people are where and what they're working on.

I don't have much interest in SWBF2 (or the first, for that matter). I don't much care for MP so Anthem holds no appeal. No boycott necessary from my side of things.

I am 100% sure I will buy SWBF2. Also it is too early to judge Anthem but if it interest me, I will buy it. Mass Effect had a good 3 game run, time to move on.

yeah plus Battlefront has some pretty decent graphics as well it looks. I stayed away from BF1 because it didn't have SP but damn graphics wise it looked pretty awesome.
