EA focused BW Edmonton on their Destiny-CashCow-Anthem while letting BW Montreal go through hellish development on MEA. Then to rub salt in the wound after the release of MEA they move BioWare Montreal developers to Motive Studios to work on SWBF2.
If any ME fan is upset about this they should consider not to buy/preorder Anthem & SWBF2 until MEA support ends on April 2018.
I won't be surprised if EA will decide to make Anthem the new "ME-spiritual-successor" if MEA fails in sales too.
Personally i ain't gonna spend money on any game (except ME) til April 2018, that's how much i love ME.

Anthem appears to be very different from their other franchises so I guess they're already expecting none of their old fanbase to buy the game. That's why they're ready to shit in piss all over them and not care about their other games anymore.
Its like back in school when kids get new friends, along with their new bros they turn on their old friends and make fun of them, behaving like total idiots. But more often than not the new friends dump them like trash and they come crawling back.

No need to boycott something you have no interest in playing to begin with. Generic multiplayer shooters aren't my cup of tea. They certainly won't get my money, rest assured of that.

Same obviously goes for SWBF2. I'm that not interested that I don't even know what is is. So I obviously didn't follow production.

I'm also not interested in the game and that has nothing to do with it drawing all resources from the franchises I like. I'm not butthurt, just a little disappointed.
While the game does look kinda pretty I'm simply not interested in another pseudo-coop semi-open world online-game. I already have games for that kind of fun, the market is flooded with games like those and I don't need another one that does basically the same thing.
I think Bioware is foolish to dump all the things they're good at (or used to be good at) and do something very generic everyone already has who enjoys this genre.
I've always thought that if Bioware would go all in and for once put all their resources and money into a single story driven game without any compromises, shortcuts, diverted resources or problems in the management area they would be able to make something truly magnificent - and make a ton of cash with it.
Something like Dragon Age Origins. On steroids, coke, growth hormones and Michelangelo's brain matter injected into it.

No need to boycott something I was never intending to buy, Bio are pretty much dead to me now anyway.
It's over dude.
Time to move on.

I've always thought that if Bioware would for once put all their resources and money into a single story driven game without any compromises, shortcuts or problems in the management area they would be able to make something truly magnificent - and make a ton of cash with it. Something like Dragon Age Origins. On Steroids, coke, growth hormones and Michelangelo's brain matter injected into it. That would be great but sadly this would require BW to be its own publisher or be financially independent like the well known polish company that created the well known game everyone praise. Big corporations don't treat games with the respect they should receive as a form of artistic entertainment. EA is all about maximizing the profit and reducing the costs, even at the cost of quality. People can like or dislike TW3 but none can put in question the quality and dedication the development team put on it. It's simply pure high quality regardless of you liking or not the setting or the protagonist. Everything looks super polished and filled with the devs care and love. I'm sure BW could do the same if they were on their own feet but sadly this is not going to happen. I enjoyed MEA greatly and defended it against the rabid haters but can't deny it feels like a rushed corporate product , BW development team has surely its faults in the development of MEA but the corporate philosophy of EA is well evident in the type of games they produce and the lack of polish they receive. EA games feels like those consumerist products, you play for a couple of months then you should throw it away to buy a new one made by the same studio. We are overwhelmed by yearly releases of rushed and incomplete corporate products with no soul and commitment from the devs. I missed the old times when we waited long development cycles for high quality games that are polished to the single detail. I'm willing to pay more for high-development quality games. I wished we had a brand like for food where you can see the difference between junk corporate food and organic high-quality food. We need the "organic" games or some sort of "Art" label to it. I'm fed up of eating corporate gaming fast-food.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Thank you. I have not played Star Wars: Battelfront 1 and i will also not play Star Wars: Battelfront 2. From what i know about Anthem i dont think i will be playing the game either but it has nothing to do with a boycott.

Boycotting accomplishes nothing. If anything EA probably should have let the team that created the trilogy work on Andromeda. But for me Andromeda's issues fall more in line with the characters and it's story, the whole animation and story glitches, CC creations etc..Bioware is already taking care of that.
I can see both sides of the argument for EA...they wanted to put their best team on the new IP compared to putting a team that wasn't proven yet on it compared to putting a team that wasn't proven yet on an established franchise (probably thinking that fans would buy it either way because it's ME)
To be honest tho...if Anthem has a decent SP experience, i may be on board with it.....Andromeda wasn't a bad game by any means, and whatever it's sales numbers, one bad game out of the series in terms of sales (if that is the case) should not tank the entire franchise...

Amen to everything you say in your first paragraph. As far as Anthem is concerned. It doesn't seem to be an SP game with the option to go online. They already said, it wouldn't be an RPG. Since I always hated online games, apart from competitive racers like GPL, I'm not the least bit interested. The deomgraphic found in these games just isn't what I like for recreational purposes. The last one I gave a try was GTAV and that was, as Alex in Clockwork Orange uses to say, real horror show. Filled with people I would give a wide bearth when meeting them on the streets.

I'm fed up of eating corporate gaming fast-food. I couldn't agree more. Thankfully there is still a handful successful games / franchise out there that are the product of developer enthusiasm and passion - The Witcher like you mentioned is a good example, but there is also games like Pillars Of Eternity. Also the game Agony is looking really good - it shares Witcher developers after all- While isometric oldschool RPG's are definitely not for everyone, whether you are a fan or not you immediately feel that Pillars of Eternity is not a simple cash grab game for the ''masses'' you toss away after using once like a condom. When you play it you definitely realize that it was designed by gamers and big enthusiasts of that genre. I'm very much looking forward to Pillars of Eternity Deadfire. I guess people that want that kind of thing have to rely on Indie, Semi-indie, kickstarter projects and specialized studios.

Battlefront 2 the nwe Star Wars game coming out later this year. As far as I'm concerned though at least Battle front 2 does have 1 leg up on Anthem by virtue that it's got single player. So unlike Anthem I may well end up getting Battlefront 2

It's also a game that has been kickstarted by the community and with input by the community. They had more of an obligation to rise up to their expectations and not their publishers. It's a great game for old school RPGers, who can live with isometric views. By the way handpainted and really beautiful looking environments.
