Come on...someone make cupcakes and send to BioWare. Please do that because that was hilarious 5 years ago. Or donate to Pax. Or contact the BBB.
Hold The Line, People!
I play good games that are enjoyable...if its good, I'll play it.

Is this the new IP? I'm out of the loop a bit just atm. I had to look up what this was. Hmmm, well ... no, don't think so. I like MEAMP well enough (and loved ME3MP) but I don't want to buy a game that is MP focussed.

Way to take a stand against the corporate machine "I will not buy these games, right away that is" A boycott means never buying them, so now i expect you to stick to that.
Personally? If Anthem is good i will buy it and play it, that is what i do with games. Then again i like almost every genre and type of game. Not limiting myself to only RPG's.
Also can people stop throwing around that its an mmo. According to the devs it has co-op, but the single player experience is also important to them. So much false information.

I wished we had a brand like for food where you can see the difference between junk corporate food and organic high-quality food. We need the "organic" games or some sort of "Art" label to it. I'm fed up of eating corporate gaming fast-food. Io couldn't agree more. Thankfully there is still a handful successful games / franchise out there that are the product of developer enthusiasm and passion - The Witcher like you mentioned is a good example, but there is also games like Pillars Of Eternity. Also the game Agony is looking really good - it shares Witcher developers after all- While isometric oldschool RPG's are definitely not for everyone, whether you are a fan or not you immediately feel that Pillars of Eternity is not a simple cash grab game for the ''masses'' you toss away after using once like a condom. When you play it you definitely realize that it was designed by gamers and big enthusiasts of that genre. I'm very much looking forward to Pillars of Eternity Deadfire. I guess people that want that kind of thing have to rely on Indie, Semi-indie, kickstarter projects and specialized studios. Is it actually useful to classify games this way? The devs' -- or maybe the publisher's -- motives aren't all that relevant to me. If I like what the game is doing, why would I care if it was a cash grab?

I won't get the game regardless of boycott. I have no interest in Battlefield games. I prefer games with concrete storyline, not MMO. Although this game will be a success because they didn't target the old fans, they target CoD and Battlefield, it probably aims at pre-teen crowds as well. It has pretty mainstream mass appeal. I still don't get EA though, Titanfall franchise wasn't a big success, the second game was a big disappointment and didn't meet sales expectation, so they have a story focused company make another Titanfall multiplayer game which has no focus on story.

No, I am not going to actively boycott Anthem. In fact, it is impossible for me to do that because I am not interested in that game and was never going to buy it in the first place.

Lol you people are so negative. no sh1t sherlock. The amount of negativity andromeda gets is surprising to me when most out there this time are not as enjoyable as andromeda for me. I do get some complaints however.

Anthem lost me as soon as they announced it was an online multiplayer. I honestly don't care how nice the game looks, or how awesome the 'story' sounds, I'll never buy it. I agree with folks who think that BW shot themselves in the foot by giving the ME franchise to their C team and devoting main resources to this.

Anthem looks like that cinematic blob that was Pacific Rim. beurk . The "science" that Pacific Rim puts in its story is whackadoo hokey bullshit, but I love the characters enough and the robot-on-kaiju action that I can't say that I care too much. That being said, a proper game where you can wear custom mech suits and fight monsters and interact with NPC's would be right up my alley, at least this basic framework would be.

No need to boycott something you have no interest in playing to begin with. Generic multiplayer shooters aren't my cup of tea. They certainly won't get my money, rest assured of that. +1

Just boycott them, period, or do not, period. Yoda said that once.
I bin boycottin' Biower since DAI released and I took lol KB&M controls to the brain. It was so absurd - a game built on PC, made for PC... My ass.
I wanted to break it for Anderpeda, but I stayed to the boycott because the BSN verdict I gave a shit about was that the game sucked aardvark.
Ergo, boycott away. But understand the term you chose.

This is pretty much my feeling on it. Good story-driven rpg games will always be out there, and whether or not BioWare is as steeped into that genre as some other devs in the future won't change that. If this game turns out to be good, dare say, even great, then screw it, I'm game for this new thingamabob. I'm mostly concerned about Dragon Age, because it's sort of my first love when it comes to BioWare's games, and I friggin' need to know what happens! :DD:

They are chasing a new fan base and the money trail. The RPG's that we got from the Bioware of old are most likely a thing of the past. EA cares about one thing only, profit. RPG's don't make as much of that as shooters so Bioware is being taken in a new direction.

I believe it was either a Tweet or from the interview the game director did. Try watching the interview, it has some good information anyway, and if it's not there, ask on the Anthem twitter thread.

No need to boycott something I was never intending to buy, Bio are pretty much dead to me now anyway. It's over dude. Time to move on.I wish a few more people with these (legitimate) views would take that last piece of advice. There's only so many time's people can credibly post, 'I'm out of here'... I think it's up to 100 now.

What's there to boycott? You either are interested in Anthem and buy it or you aren't and don't. I for one have no idea yet if I'm interested. If it focuses too heavily on MP, probably not.
If you don't enjoy Bioware games, then don't buy them. Why waste any more energy? And why ask others to boycott a company? For what? And how childish is this? They are producing entertainment and it either entertains you or it doesn't. Bioware does not ruin your life.
Why aren't threads like these closed? What good discussion could come of a thread like this?

Talk is cheap. Me, I've already tossed ridiculous amounts of money at PoE2, and expect to be enjoying that in 2018. Edit: Banner Saga 3 as well, now that I think about it.
