I thought there was mention that Leliana was training Harding amongst others to take her place as spymaster. I honestly thought Trespasser would have backed up the flirting with her. Instead, it's like an ME2 romance in ME3: it's acknowledged briefly by dialogue but it teases the players by its sparcity. I'm thinking they have more plans for her in the next game but I still wonder if the reason why they are holding her back is because Liara's voice actress is playing as her and they want to avoid another "overexposed character you're supposed to love". ...I'll go take the tin foil hat off now. I DO hope they bring her back, I felt she was under exposed, really.

Vivainadx I'd be curious to see more of her in game. What we have so far, just doesn't give me enough to know if I care that she's there or not. She's so unobtrusive, that I have no grasp on what makes her unique, to stand out amongst other NPC's with pleasant personalities. I do feel bad that those who romanced her got teased like that since she never turned them down.

She would not be my first choice but it would certainly be an opportunity to expand on her character that is otherwise only lightly touched upon.

Harding was way too cute for my tastes. But with all the fan clamour for a romanceable Harding, I'd be stunned if they didn't include her as a romanceable companion for DA4. Personally I'd prefer a romanceable male dwarf. Varric's chest hair's been teasing us for long enough

I do feel bad that those who romanced her got teased like that since she never turned them down. Ah, but being unobtrusive could be her strong point, nobody would expect great things from her. Being inconspicuous would allow her seem harmless and she'd have a higher chance of gaining access to different places without suspicion, being a dwarf, she'd also have a sturdy build and her size would allow for missions were she needs to find places to hide....and if you mean as a romance interest, she's smart, cute, reliable, efficient, humorous...if you didn't know her, it wouldn't take long for you to recognize and appreciate her abilities, you might even begin to look forward to seeing her or have her join your party. She'd be the ray of sunshine on or after a crappy mission. She'd be a character that you could grow to love, without realizing it, it would be a slow gravitation towards her whenever she's around...A relationship started by an immediate physical attraction is a lot easier to get over than one that comes out of left field and is gradual process of noticing the quirks and mannerisms you find adorable about that person. I don't understand not knowing what makes her unique, I found her character to be more intriguing than most of the other NPC's and a few of the party members.I saw her as a wasted oppertunity.

Charter would be the logical choice to be spymaster if Leliana leaves, since she's much more experienced and her second. 2. Here you go! Harding was way too cute for my tastes. Varric's chest hair's been teasing us for long enough I wouldn't be surprised either, but I hope they don't since that would take up one of my two romance options Anyway, I don't hope she's a companion, since I never understood the appeal of a walking exposition outlet I know that's the unpopular opinion, as is the norm for me, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see others share it. I'd love to have a female dwarf companion though, preferably a fierce warrior with a kind heart. Knight in shining armour.

Maybe Leliana don't think Charter has what it takes to be a good spymaster? 2. That is something everybody is always afraid of. I have been lucky in that way. 3. What do you mean with "a walking exposition outlet"?

I don't feel any attachment to Harding.
I'd rather they give us more new characters than returning ones.
But I do think there should be a dwarf romance next game. It's long overdue.

I was thinking more in terms of what the players themselves can pick out that would separate her from someone just as friendly, like say, Josephine. Like, what would make her unique that would be hers and hers alone? I know Josephine has a sneaky side to her in playing a Wicked Grace game and that she's got a surprisingly ruthless possessiveness towards Carastian candies. We know Harding has a ruthless streak herself in dispatching mages and templars in the Hinterlands and that she's not afraid to call a spade a spade like in the Fallow Mire when an Avvar son kidnapped fellow teammates. But as a relationship? Now there, it's subjective taste. One that I do agree should have been delved into more than a passing mention of the Inquisitor neglecting her.

Harding is in the Inquisition war council end scene (both the official inquisition and the sneaky disbanded one). So it's reasonable that we would see her again as she's part of the anti-solas task force.
Also Leliana is thought to be grooming successors plural.
"Leliana continued to act as the Inquisition's spymaster in its final months as an independent organization. During this time, she shared many of her responsibilities with her most trusted agents, including Charter, Rector, and Harding. Many believed that Leliana feared what lay on the horizon and was grooming successors in anticipation of the challenges ahead."

One thing is she seems more adventurous than Sera. In JoH she seemed quite enthusiastic over the idea of perching on Bull's horns and firing arrows, and the whole 'mayham' thing, she isn't just nice or pleasant, she's a pint sized bundle of chaos hidden behind a shy, quiet demeanor. She's a gutsy little thing too. Suitable to fight beside on the battlefield and the first one to take along if you want to wreak extra havok. Too bad she hadn't been at the Wicked Grace Game, that might have been interesting.

Too bad she hadn't been at the Wicked Grace Game, that might have been interesting. YES! That's why she would be a great follower for the next game! I wan't to give her the chance she need to let loose, along with giving her a chance to earn her place as a hero of Thedas. She's got a good head on her shoulders, is capable in a fight, is a hell of a scout, and has plenty of room to grow as a character (and and LI). Starting with Humble beginnings may seem boring to some, but it also means that her character is inherently focused on forward growth, rather than healing from the past events before they can move on. Nothing is holding her back from becoming a truly great character beyond her simple lack of designated game time.

I'd love it if they did, but if there's a problem with size difference for the CGI, they would probably have to limit her to a dwarf romance or come out with a dwarf/human hybrid to romance. Watching the Cullen Qunari romance gave an indication of how tricky it can get with the programming. (I still get a kick out of him motorboating her , it's awesome.) Also I've come to the conclusion IF they were to give Harding a hobby or past time, I want to see her mud wrestling nugs for sport and competition. All those years wrestling sheep for shaves and branding probably has given her great nug wresting abilities...she can also help with Leliana's pets!

All those years wrestling sheep for shaves and branding probably has given her great nug wresting abilities...she can also help with Leliana's pets! Lets be fair, if the setting is Tevinter and we are only getting a new PC ... I don't see us getting access to playing Qunari. Even though I know they can be non-citizens or slaves within that country, there are so many reasons it would be weird from a story telling standpoint I can't really see it happening (especially if we are in direct conflict with the Qun during the game). Even Dwarves might be pushing it in Tevinter, since it is such an inherently Human Centric society. Its one of those "we're allowing players to play this race, solely because they want to be able to play it ... not necessarily because it actually makes sense" sort of things Well whatever, if the Inquisitor comes back I don't see a problem with her being romanced by a Qunari, she openly flirted with them in DA:I so it would be strange if she suddenly was unavailable. The size shouldn't be too much of an issue at a game-play perspective, just if kissing is needed have the Qunari lift her up.

I wonder if there'd be jealousy though for those fond of their Inquisitor and wanted them to be with Harding.

I don't know about the jealousy thing, I played with so many different wardens, Hawkes and inquisitors that that kind of thing doesn't phase me, but I have noticed some folks tend to get possessive over their characters...I don't know. Personally i like to start a knew character each game and play them all through, I'm not a fan of re using them because for me it feels like the story for that selection of characters is over.
