I'd like to see Bianca pregnant with her husband's child and leaving Varric so that he can become available for someone else...Then he can smash his crossbow, someone can find it, take it to Dagna and Harrit, they can reverse engineer it with better materials and runes and there you go! Varric gets himself a way better crossbow that's more efficient, fast and deadly. ME TOO! But that would also imply the Varric would be a returning companion for a third game straight, since I doubt we would be dragging around a pregnant woman as a Companion. As much as I love that Dwarf ... Varric needs to retire. He's already been a part of three immense events in his lifetime, I think involving him in anymore is a little too convenient even for the DA universe. Plus he is the Viscount of Kirkwall if Hawke was left in the Fade. He can't really be that irrepressible, and to be honest I think he's had enough screen time. My Varric is Viscount with Hawke assisting him. All you need is for the job to be vacant, I imagine, as in not occupied by Hawke. I agree it's time to let Varric save his hometown. His days in the field should be over. I love him, and I'm not the least bit tired of him, but it just makes sense. Honestly, I am a bit tired of Leliana. I was glad to read that she is grooming successors. It told me that the writers realize that the character is in need of retirement. I'd like to see a mixture of new and old characters. I don't want Dorian as a companion, because I specifically hope he's become a powerful enough player in Tevinter that he can't go running around with us. Otherwise, he'd be most welcome. I can't even guess at who the new characters will prove to be, but I'm sure they'll be amazing. Honestly, I'd be a bit surprised if Harding weren't a companion and Leliana weren't again our "handler" and advisor. I don't see them walking away from the search from Solas. If they're along for the ride, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the other minor NPCs reprise their roles, such as Charter. It might also be interesting to see a one or more of them playing for the other side, now. The story impact is lessened if the Inquisitor is out of the picture, but the observant player would catch it. At the very least, I expect we might read a few notes or letters from former inquisition agents who now work for the Dread Wolf.

1. Charter would be the logical choice to be spymaster if Leliana leaves, since she's much more experienced and her second.I wouldn't be surprised either, but I hope they don't since that would take up one of my two romance options Anyway, I don't hope she's a companion, since I never understood the appeal of a walking exposition outlet I know that's the unpopular opinion, as is the norm for me, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see others share it. I'd love to have a female dwarf companion though, preferably a fierce warrior with a kind heart. Knight in shining armour. 1. Maybe Leliana don't think Charter has what it takes to be a good spymaster? 2. That is something everybody is always afraid of. I have been lucky in that way. 3. What do you mean with "a walking exposition outlet"? 1. Well, that would be very odd considering she's her second in command and has a great deal of autonomy. The epilogue apparently lists both Harding and Charter as "being groomed by Leliana" but I maintain my position that Harding isn't a good choice for that. Scout is very different from Spymaster as are the skills required for each. I also fear Harding is heading down the "writer's pet" path given the (in my humble opinion) undue amount of content she was given in DLC, especially compared to others who should have had priority, like advisors. She was in all 3 DLCs while our advisors only appeared in Trespasser 2. Indeed. Glad you were lucky! 3. Well, to me she was just a fairly bland character whose primary purpose and source of content was to provide exposition on new locales. So I was surprised to hear she was so popular. Harding was way too cute for my tastes. But with all the fan clamour for a romanceable Harding, I'd be stunned if they didn't include her as a romanceable companion for DA4. Personally I'd prefer a romanceable male dwarf. Varric's chest hair's been teasing us for long enough She may not be male, but who says she doesn't have chest hair? She is a dwarf after all LOL! That was Dagna, the arcane specialist working in the Undercroft. To be fair, Sera and Harding getting together makes a lot more sense than Sera and Dagna getting together. If I think about it, yeah it does. At least they have something in common, like archery. Dagna and Sera not only came out of nowhere (on account of NPCs not generally moving around Skyhold to interact the way they did on the Normandy) since they never so much as exchanged a word to each other before or mentioned each other, but I also just can't see it. Dagna is all about magic, while Sera hates and is terrified of magic. She may not have to fear Dagna, but it still seems like an odd pairing when Dagna's main passion and career in life would be conversation non-starter Ok you got me there, if they had had more meetings with Knight Captain Rylen, instead of Harding, I WOULD have been a lot happier...and if it came down to Harding or Rylen as party member/companion/romanceable character I'd go Rylen every time. Rylen's personality was great, I loved talking to him and was dissappointed he didn't appear more often. Yes! Rylen definitely deserved more than he got! I love hearing Scottish accents! Can we play as someone from Starkhaven next game please? Not really, she didn't strike me as an interesting character. I'd much rather have Valta or Dagna to come back, Valta for story reasons and Dagna because that lil' dwarf had spunk. Harding has the potential to be a great Companion, is combat trained, and isn't part of a collective mind link. Out of our available Dwarven female's she is the best option, since I'm pretty sure no one wants Bianca lol! But it doesn't have to be anyone we've met! I'm for someone new in this instance.

It's confused some people, because that means Hawke went to WEishaupt...and everything turned out okay? We don't know? Hawke survived it, we know that.

See, I thought Harding was sweet but agree, she was bland.
Until Jaws of Haakon. That bit after the Dragon was like...She woke up as a character for me. She had wants, she dreams. She wants more. She's ambitious and sharp. And going to be a way better spy lady than Leliana with a lifetime of crazy.

I like to think it went down exactly as Varric suggested: Hawke walked away as Weishaupt explodes.

I would love to see Harding back, but this time on the squad. I can see her becoming more fleshed out as a character. Harding is already a popular character. I really didn't care for Cullen that much, but I didn't mind him being back for all three games. So if he can get a chance, Harding deserves to.

I've never been as taken by Harding as the rest of the fandom. She wouldn't be my first choice for a Dwarf companion.

I can't say I really care, but she makes for a logical choice as a companion with ties to the Inquisition. Dorian and Cole are both optional so they're not really an option (lol).
