That is literally why journalists use Twitter. They link to articles. They don't link to the comments sections and laugh at the responses. Not really. I mean, they post links to their articles on their Twitter to advertise them, but all the journalists I've seen also post things that interest them, their thoughts, retweets of jokes, photos of their dogs, etc. Those are more mainstream media journalists. Geeky, younger ones are snarkier. Gaming journalists, like game devs, are going to be more opinionated, edgier. Posting political opinions (outside of extremism) won't get anyone fired. Posting the hate mail you get to goof on how unhinged it is isn't looked at as unprofessional. It's not really out of line that he'd post screenshots of forum users reacting in over the top ways. To use an old person analogy, since I'm kind of old, outlets like Gawker Media (or whatever they call the parent company now) is more Spin magazine than Wall Street Journal. It's kinda silly to expect the Twitter feed of a Millennial geek-interest reporter to look like Dan Rather's. Except he is the one who started it all. No one here insulted him, just questioned his article, since it is very similar to that whole Sinclair hoax from yesterday. If he can ´ t handle criticism, maybe he shouldn ´ t be a ´ reporter ´.

Here's what I don't get. DA2 did very poorly and Bioware still found it within themselves to release a DLC and then give themselves enough time to create a proper sequel. What's the difference here? DAII was received a little better than Andromeda is. Besides, Andromeda may be mediocre in the scoring department but it's far from financial failure so I don't see why DLC wouldn't happen. Various games triple A or not with scores in the 70s get DLC all the time. The only reason Andromeda wouldn't get any is if EA is strict on spending if the game didn't get very far past the profit line, and I don't know sales so no comment on that.

They didn't comment about his other two articles, so it's very unlikely they will comment about this one. Especially because it's very likely accurate. I have an anonymous source, who told me yesterday that Earth is very likely flat. Trying to make fun of the guy won't make him more likely to be right or wrong.

Update: EA has provided GameSpot with a statement regarding the new report. It declined to share any new details regarding DLC plans, but it did confirm, "[W]e have never worked with Sinclair Networks and they had nothing to do with the development of Mass Effect: Andromeda." This disputes a claim made in a recent Facebook post, which alleged that a company named Sinclair was working on Andromeda DLC that EA had since canceled.

I think she meant to say "EA speak up finally!".
Nope, she just beat me to it. EA simply confirmed SN is a hoax.

They were trying to reboot the Mass Effect series with Andromeda. If they don't think the game got the traction they had hoped for, where they think another game would be worthwhile, they may just have said, we tried, it didn't catch on, let's just let the series go. The game could have had huge preorder numbers, and then had the sales just fall off the table after the first week. Maybe their data says lower than the anticipated number of people finished the game or played it more than once. Who knows what EA is looking at, or what their expectation were.

He seems like a bit of a self-absorbed cunt, tbh. He has a history of being one. Reputation he has is massively overblown. Guy got fooled by a 4chan troll to write fake news years ago and was forced to apologize to NeoGaf users, who he had mocked for calling him out on his BS article. Wouldn't it be rich if history was repeating itself and some haters were trolling him to create a media backlash?

Instead of listening to those so called journalists and their "sources" I would rather put my faith in those that actually have something to do with Andromeda. They have been teasing us over and over again. It's their way to tell us that something is comming without breaking the NDA. If they would keep teasing us and in the end reveal that nothing will ever come the backlash will take astronomical proportions. This will most likely fuel the hate against Anthem, that ME was sacrificed for Anthem. That's definitely not what they want. A DLC will be an answer that will put that rumor to rest.

I have to say that it looks to me like they are saying as much as they can but due to legal and business constraints they are limited and not able to actually say, 'Yes, DLC is coming.' I wonder what it is like for them to watch this insanity? I wonder if they are all sitting back and asking themselves why there is this obsession with saying no more MEA anything will happen? I know I would be baffled entirely if I didn't know how crazy some of these haters were. To them it must be just so utterly bizarre.

Even assuming that is the case it's a poor busines that throws something out because of simply less than expected results without looking a little further at why. It's a big leap to conclude that a poor reception for Andromeda means people aren't interested in Mass Effect, although less of one if it's that producing Mass Effect costs more than they'd like, they'd rather put resource towards churning out stuff people will buy regardless, or they don't have faith in the people in charge of creating it. Just hypothetical of course. As for DLC such stories have turned out to have weight behind all the drivel in the past, so I wouldn't be particularly amazed at this stage if there wasn't any. Which would be a pity.

I've said it earlier and I'll say it again. Games journalisms is the fakest news of them all. Yeah, it's especially lazy. Know what I hate most about gaming journalism? They'll all go to E3, and all ask pretty much the same questions! When I watched the Total Warhammer streams, I kept hoping one of them would ask if Araby or Amazons are in the game, but no, they just asked the same as the 3 interviews before hand. Gaming journalism sucks.

Eh, he just seems insecure if he has to defend his articles on a message board. I've seen reporters attacked on social media for reporting and most are able to ignore them

Just to regard the question about Dragon Age 2 and its DLC. It had Day 1 DLC which the internet universally dislikes and kept making comments along the lines that EA and BioWare carved it out of the main game to be DLC and a cash grab. The second DLC Legacy was released on July 26th about five months after the release of Dragon Age 2, but was announced around the 7th of July (I could only find a report on when BioWare announced it, so the date might be off there).
If you note that the DLC was about five months after the launch of the game, but they didn't officially announce anything until the month of release and since that time the official announcement has been getting close and closer to the release date. With Dragon Age: Inquisition BioWare announced a DLC and released it on the exact same day with Jaws of Hakkon.
Of course none of this proves that DLC will be coming for Andromeda, but I think it shows that BioWare does have a trend of being quiet about their DLC plans for their games and even with all the press about the future of the game and its DLC I highly doubt that would change their tactics especially if they are nervous something might change in development.
Edit: Fixed a date.
