Mass Effect Trilogy, Mass Effect Andromeda

As most of us know, Andromeda was pretty much sabotaged by EA and rivaling Bioware factions. The interesting part is, Bioware fans are primarily Mass Effect and Dragon Age players. Nobody is a fan of their new Anthem game yet so technically nobody would miss it if they never got to play it.
However, fans will miss Mass Effect if it gets completely abandoned because its an established franchise with a huge fan base. That said, every Mass Effect fan is a potential Anthem fan. But would those fans really wanna try out something new from Bioware if they thought for one minute that Bioware/EA were going to abandon Anthem the way they did with Andromeda? Can they be trusted?
One way to convince fans to cross over and try out their new game Anthem would be to gain our trust and release the Quarian Ark DLC. That would show they're serious about maintaining their IP's and not simply letting it fall into ruin.
So with that said, cast your votes.

Wait...if Anthem isn't really a thing for someone (like me) to begin with can we answer this poll? Because I want to say "yes" but it wouldn't be actually true because I have no investment in Anthem.

I won't play Anthem either way since I don't play online games. So I didn't vote. Still, I think dlc is the road to MEA redemption and BioWare would be foolish not to go that route.

Uh, yeah, this. Anthem doesn't look all that appealing to me, and I don't think Bioware is creating it for its Mass Effect and Dragon Age fans.

Anthem isn't looking to be the type of game I'm interested in playing anyways.
They're trying to break into a new market.

Jokes aside, I don't bear a grudge against Anthem for any backroom drama that may or may not have effected poor Andromeda. It is what it is, and if Anthem starts looking like a good game I want to play, I'm not going to deprive myself of something fun just to be huffy.
Right now, I'm ragingly indifferent.

It doesn't hurt for BioWare to expand their portfolio. They should do so especially if they have an opportunity to do it. That being said, Anthem, like Destiny before it, is just not my thing.

I'm going to weigh Anthem on it's own merit. I know there is a deeper intent on this, but to be honest, it's really great to see BioWare flex their creative abilities in another franchise. I have no idea how well it hold my attention, but it also depends on skillz. I'm single-player type guy for a reason. Gettin' Gud is a challenge, but if I can PuG it out with some members here, I might be better than a vorcha with a flamethrower.

Same here. It looks pretty but I don't do online/MP only games - not really interested. I didn't vote since the two aren't related for me. I still plan on getting the next DA game (whenever that may be a thing) regardless what happens with MEA.

Anthem just seems like a rehash of something previously done by other studios. Add some hot dude-on-dude squadmate action to the story and we'll bang talk, ok?

Anthem does not deserve boykott, it's being written by Drew Karpyshyn, the guy who wrote me1 and me2, games we all of us love without those games we wouldn't be here
it's EA or some Biware director's fault,
Anthem will be a great sci fi game i'll buy it

1) I don't think Anthem is being aimed at Dragon Age or Mass Effect players for the simple reason is that it seems to be a completely different type of game then what they have released in the past. It would be claiming that Bethesda better make more DLC for Fallout 4 or we aren't going to buy the Wolfenstien sequel.
2) I rather not have them try and earn back my trust by releasing something for me to buy.
3) Going by your thread title, we don't even know if the Quarian Ark was going to be DLC or something they touch in a future game. To me it was like the Marvel Stingers at the end of their movie credits. They don't add in more scenes explaining that when you buy the home version.

I said it before the hypocrisy is amazing. You have people who said ME:A got a fair shake, people wanted to hate the game for no reason, the game never got judged on its merits, don't understand why people would want a game to fail. Now some of these same people are advocating the same exact thing towards Anthem.
smh...
The SN hoax thread, people had the pitchforks out.

For anthem, I would say that for the first time in my life, I am not excited for a bioware game. The gameplay and combat looks fine because, well it is the super combat of MEA but made better, so it looks nice.
But that said, it really look like a destiny clone with a more fleshed out story. The problem with that is even if the story is well done, I won't give a fuck about it because its just not my type of game. I bought destiny, but only the year two version with the first 3 big dlc at a reduce price, and even then I did not liked it that much, it was fine but that's it.
The only reason I played Swtor is that even if it is an MMO, it had the bioware classic storytelling, that was what I was looking for and I founded it and I absolutely loved it, I made the 8 story classes in a short amount of time and did the expansion with all the enthusiasm possible. I play it 3 months a year by waiting for more content to be made, in between the moment where I finish it,
But for Anthem, nothing shows me I will love the game, a "better made destiny" is not what I except from Bioware. It might be good and maybe people will love it, but if it does not have the bioware classic storytelling, with dialogue option, romance, companion, moral choices to allow for multiple playthrought, I will probably just wait a year until it gets on sale then pick it up. That is something I cannot do for a bioware game that I have to get on release day.
I will be cautious with that game, for now I am much more hyped for MEA dlc's. and if there is not any, anthem is probably going to drop even more in my list of priorities and Ill probably when it is 10 dollars maximum, if bioware just want to burry andromeda like it never happen, I would lose any will to give a fuck about anthem.
There is a story to finish in the ME universe and if bioware answer to the unfinished story of andromeda is Anthem, I am sure as hell not gonna buy it at relase and will probably wait years until it really reduce. Starting a story when the other is unfinished and there is no plan to finish it... no just fucking NO

I would still need a guarantee that they will be making another Mass Effect game at some point in the future regardless of whether it is a sequel to Andromeda or if it is a game that takes place in the Milky Way. Also I would also need a guarantee that DA gets taken care of as well. The ME and DA franchises are why I have been playing bioware games for over a decade now. Sure Kotor was my first bioware game but ME and DA are why I stayed and have supported them since. If bioware abandons Mass Effect and feeds Dragon Age only scraps then I see no reason to support Anthem.

I simply do not believe in this kind of boycotts. As much as I would hate to see no DLC/successor (and I am still all but convinced that there will be none), I will judge every game at it's own merits.
However - The chances that I will buy Anthem depend largely on a few factors.
First of all - if its is multi-player with a "tacked on" small single player campaign as a afterthought, I will not buy it. And if it's only multi-player I will certainly not buy it. Multi-player is a big NO for me (yes I tried it several times and hated every second of it).
Secondly - Knowing it has a strong multi-player element, I am afraid the game will be "always on line", even for the single player campaign (a bit like Elite - Dangerous). That would be a reason to consider not buying the game. And if it turns out to be a monthly/yearly prescription model, it's completely out of the window for me.
Third - And that's a personal fear of me. If there will be countless microtransactions, like you see in a lot MMO based games, the is no way I will even think about buying the game. I want a fixed price, and do not want to spend an multitude of that to "get back" cutted content or to "complete" my game.
So - There you have it. I'm not going to boycott the game beforehand, but sure as hell I am not going to buy Anthem blindly.

While I'm already accustomed to this with Destiny, I'd rather not have another game that can be unavailable to play because their servers are down or PSN is taking a shit on itself.

I'm not even sure Anthem is a game I'm interested in to begin with, so far it looks like the kind of game I buy only on a heavy sale, so thinking about boycotting it doesn't make much sense for me. I'm keeping an eye on it though, and if it surprisingly winds up being a game I'm really interested in I'm not missing out to make a pointless statement about some allegedly terrible project management.
