Second, we have the DAI example. It sold very well, had a good reception I don't know if I can accurately equate DAI with MEA, but the forums were a mess when DAI was released. Many bugs, "the game is too big", "I didn't pay for open world", "Why do the Hinterlands suck so bad" etc. I know that the external reaction was much better, but I still recall a high degree of Complainy McComplainyPants after release. And then a lot of anxiety about how well it sold, just like now. So there's literally no way to know if it has legs. I'd say many of the people on this forum are still playing, and if they're not playing they're invested enough to buy and play a DLC.
... where you can play on your own but you can call in friends and have them drop in and out of the game. That's why I have EVE Online. I'll just go back to that when I'm done with Andromeda. (And it doesn't look like I'll be done with Andromeda anytime soon. Sorry, dudes in my corp!) OMFG. It was a sh**storm. And the white knight Elhanon pissed me the f*** off because he would derail CONSTRUCTIVE criticism threads. Here, it's the exact opposite. Well done EA. Now BioWare gets it all unfiltered with a steady supply of insults and veiled threats. Anyway, back to Inquisition, I never expected BioWare to shut their mouths tighter than a baby tasting lemon juice for the first time. That was a new realization. Things had changed and were changing and nobody on the outside was reporting on anything except conjured up crap like Krem and Iron Bull. It was a tired narrative, but an effective one. I joined the unofficial forums very salty. SALTY! And slowly I'm reminded that nothing has changed. It's just a recycle of what happened before. Mistakes were made and the corrections were sometimes lacking. Isn't that life? Andromeda is a very good game at 1.09. F*** you Paul. I know you're reading this and tomorrow you're giving up your PS4.

To be honest, I'm fascinated by the graphics and gameplay shown for Anthem. I just don't see myself putting in enough hours to want to buy it full price or pre-order it.
I won't boycott it, but I don't see myself buying it right off the bat. I'm slowly stopping MEA. I've done enough playthroughs and MP isn't enough to keep my game time. Time for new games.
It's about time to move on for me. I'll come around for a DLC by August but if it isn't until November/December, I'll have a huge game log from sales to actually go back to a game for DLC. I say this with a heavy heart because I love Bioware games.

My strategy for Anthem:
Watch the whole story/game via youtube.
I did that for Horizon Zero Dawn because I dont have a PS4 yet. Plus the story looked interesting.
Guess which game will be a system buyer in the future for someone like me.
Bioware is in the doghouse, as far as my purchases go, so here's to Anthem somehow surprising me.

I don't care enough to hold a grudge against Bioware or any other game developer. I wish I hadn't preordered MEA (and won't preorder in the future) but that was my mistake, not theirs.

I buy the games I want to play, regardless of what the developer/publisher has done in the past. Sometimes I get burned (DA2, ME3 ending without mods, Fallout 4), but mostly I don't (DAO/Inquisition, ME1/ME2/MEA other than character creation, and many other non-Bioware games). I can't answer this poll, like many others, simply because I have no interest in Anthem. The only MMOs I enjoy are ones I can play solo (Guild Wars, ESO, most of WoW until the Legion expansion), and by the sound of things, Anthem is forced co-op 100% of the time.

Considering how butthurt you sound it must be 10/10. And that's without even trying. It amazes me that people still get angry because a stranger on the internet posts something they disagree with. Sad. Revising this to a 0/10 thanks to a -2 penalty, breaking troll rule #23 'You will not award yourself troll points'. You need to report to Suko and undergo emergency training to avoid becoming a normie.

No confirmation on whether this is even worth it though or if you lose out on stuff (or even story). (If there is a story...)

I bought a PS4 mainly for Horizon but it came with Uncharted 4 so I've been playing through the Uncharted games. I'm not too far into Horizon's main story yet. Just mainly doing side quests so far. I probably won't get Anthem at all, at least not at full price. I don't care for those always online games.

Anthem does not deserve boykott, it's being written by Drew Karpyshyn, the guy who wrote me1 and me2, games we all of us love without those games we wouldn't be here it's EA or some Biware director's fault, Anthem will be a great sci fi game i'll buy it Yea I swear the original devs left after ME2?

There is something about Anthem that isn't working for me. It looks like every other sci-fi shooter on market and it reminds me of a poor man's Destiny and/or Titanfall knockoff. I found it gameplay trailer boring as hell and all the people trying to hype it selling me point out features that I could care less about, honestly I wished BioWare had done Shadow Realms (or whatever it was called) instead of Anthem that at least looked more fun and original than Anthem.
Nothing about Anthem has impressed me. The graphics, art style, combat system, weapons, armor, level designs, characters, creatures, the MP co-op mode all did NOT impress me one bit, and that player spoken "dialogue" was horrible. I want to love Anthem but right now it seems to be nothing more than EA's latest attempt to copy Destiny and their track record has been a failure after failure if Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Star Wars: Battlefront 1 are any indicators, Anthem looks to be on track to join them. I hope I'm wrong, but if I can't get interested and the stuff that has been revealed about the game fails to impress me and if came out next week I would not buy it or anytime in near future. The only game in the same genre that I would buy (if I were into those kind of games) would be Overwatch.
Surprisingly the E3 trailer that did impress me was Life is Strange: Before the Storm and it looked a million times better than Anthem did.

Boycotting Anthem is a childish decision. There's more to it than BioWare focusing on Anthem, like the lack of successful development plan and whatnot. Honestly, Anthem looks great, but I rarely stick for too long in MP focused games even if they're great, like BF1, TF2 and etc. So I will probably not get Anthem just because my money is too precious and might not be a worthy purchase. But for those who like this type of game, it sure does look amazing.

I don't care enough to hold a grudge against Bioware or any other game developer. I wish I hadn't preordered MEA (and won't preorder in the future) but that was my mistake, not theirs. Absolutely this -- especially since EA totally shit on their PC gamers in regard to the Andromeda Collector's Edition.
For US players only the standard edition was available for the PC bundle...and you didn't even get a physical disc, just a code in a box. That made the steel case that came with the CE totally irrelevant. Compare this to Dragon Age Inquisition's "Inquisitor's Edition" which came with the Deluxe Edition on PC CD.
As much as I enjoy the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, I can't see myself pre-ordering future collector's editions should they be offered. It's clear that when it comes to platforms EA now considers PC players unwashed heathen and unworthy of their time.
