In practice, the sensible way to get DA:O DLC is the UE, so costs should be moot. Oh good point. I have the base game installed but looks like just Awakenings alone is $20 on Origin so I should def just do that...

I'm pretty sure you can buy it on Steam and activate the keys over in Origin too (in case it's on sale there first). At least I'm 99% sure I did that with mine so I'd have all three in the same platform.

I'm not really under any delusions that the Warden will return, merely that I would be in favour if they did. It is kind of strange though BioWare's canon as per the keep is that the Warden made the Ultimate Sacrifice, but Witch Hunt seems tailor made, or at least heavily geared towards Dark Ritual or Morrigan romancing Warden's. Don't overthink canon. My impression is that Bio sets their defaults around what's easiest for a new player. NPCs default to dead so the PC meets fewer people whom he knows but his player doesn't know.
