BW Montreal didn't have enough time to work on Quarians + the other species and relegated them to DLC. Quarians would have been included in the base game otherwise. BWM probably had some work done and planned to complete it after release. EA said no. Best case scenario there's just enough work for 1 DLC by Sept and that's it.
I don't actually expect any DLC, though. The active ME:A playerbase is not big enough to financially justify DLC and the longer they wait w/o official announcement the smaller that playerbase will be. At this point development resources are more useful elsewhere (eg Anthem). I believe EA+BW want everyone to think Anthem and forget about ME:A.

It's cool. I just noticed after I posted that 2 or 3 people had already said the same thing. I felt like a parrot there for a sec. I think vonuber hit the nail on the head, though. We know there's at least 3 million copies sold, maybe more. If anyone doesn't think EA isn't salivating at charging $20 or more for MEA DLC to that base, well, they don't know EA very well. You're assuming those buyers would all get the DLC... 40% of buyers purchased ME3's day 1 launch DLC - I'd have to think future DLC sales would have had a much lower attach rate. Either way, EA has all the data - they can see how may people are actively playing Andromeda so the only answer to the question is if/when DLC releases.

Does anyone think that maybe, just maybe, BioWare/EA never planned any SP DLC at all in the first place? I mean, there was no season pass, which is extremely odd for EA.Discuss. No Bioware game ever had any season pass, even if all of them had dlc at one point. Yup. Hence the strike through.

Either way, EA has all the data - they can see how may people are actively playing Andromeda so the only answer to the question is if/when DLC releases. Building off of that, EA has never canceled DLC plans for a game because it was panned. Dead Space 3 (highly underrated imo) was panned by fans and critics, didn't sell very well at all, and still got a DLC. I think they would be mentally challenged to put the very clear teaser for quarian ark DLC in the epilogue right where it would be most fresh in people's minds if they did not plan it or know if they were going to do it. Talk about giving people a reason to hate you. That right there is just about as cruel as any game developer could be. They didn't know the game was going to get a 70% metacritic rating and mocked across social media like no other game ever has - I bet they were planning on releasing DLC, but Andromeda's reception might change that moving forwards. Only the "mainstream" gaming press hit it with lower scores. A lot of the smaller outlets that contribute to Metacritic rated it very highly as well as other small outlets that don't.

The biggest thing that makes me think Bioware had planned a DLC (or two) and that a Quarian Ark DLC is based off cut content, is that you can't get enough points to get everyone out of cryo. (Unless you can in which case someone should really tell me.) That's is unlikely to be accidental, and much more likely to be because content had to be temporarily shelved for time.

The Cerberus Network wasnt a season pass...you got it free with the purchase of a new game. It was only if you bought game used that you had to pay for the DLC separately which is cool by me. ME3 didn't have a season pass either...From Ashes was a Collectors Edition bonus that you had to pay for separately if you just bought the base game. To me, that was crappy but still not a seasons pass Wasn't that a response to GameStop? And is there ever been a time that BioWare didn't have DLC? Not sure but I don' t think they had DLC for their old games like Baldur's gate or Kotor I think all the DLC stuff started happening at the same time as the ME and DA games began. Which is ironicaly also when Bioware became part of EA too. I know Baldur's gate and things like Shadow's of Ahm and I think Throne of Bhaal I think it's called but I think they were moer expansion packs than DLC's much like Awakening was for DAO. But ever since then it's been all DLC's

Well, I had a bug around when 1.08 released where I would get points by simply acquring fast travel locations or completing steps to quests. The playthrough started before it was released and by the end i got 32 pod points to spend and "everyone" was awake. I couldn't duplicate that bug on the next playthrough or reach lvl 29 on both occasions. All quests except certian tasks that don't have quest markers were complete, so I don't know why they bothered to increase AVP.

patch 1.09 wow we now have Batarian in MP but not in single players
So Bioware please explain how the Batarian made it to Andromeda. Did they hide with the space monkey
I have Super Deluxe Edition with 244 hrs of game play and waiting for DLC for single player to bring the others as stated in the game after completing Meridian.
Thanks for improving the game

But ever since then it's been all DLC's Actually, Bio's NWN Premium Module program was one of the earliest examples of the paid DLC concept. Right after that they switched to consoles as the lead release platform, which might have something to do with why they backed away from this model (my impression is that digital marketplaces for consoles weren't well-developed in that era, but as a PC gamer I didn't pay much attention to those trends.)

Are you privied to insider information or just speculating? It is speculation and also a reasonable assessment based on available information. I'll be elated if I'm wrong but the evidence strongly suggests there won't be any SP DLC. You're free to believe as you will, of course. I don't know if I believe anything anymore... I can't believe that a bunch of edgelords and shitposts took down a game that sold reasonably well, or at least outsold Dead Space 3, which sold poorly, was panned by "critics," and bashed by gamers, but still got at least one piece of story DLC. It's absolutely mind boggling, this current situation. patch 1.09 wow we now have Batarian in MP but not in single players So Bioware please explain how the Batarian made it to Andromeda.Did they hide with the space monkey I have Super Deluxe Edition with 244 hrs of game play and waiting for DLC for single player to bring the others as stated in the game after completing Meridian. I think people thinks it's been mocked like no game ever has. But it's far from the worst backlash.
