Does anyone think that maybe, just maybe, BioWare/EA never planned any SP DLC at all in the first place?
I mean, there was no season pass, which is extremely odd for EA.
Discuss.

Considering they're announcing a 10-year plan for a game that hasn't even released yet, I'd say it's likely they had plans for SP DLC at one point.

While the lack of a season pass might be odd for EA it isn't for BioWare releases. I can't think of one time they've offered a season pass for one of their games.

The Cerberus Network wasnt a season pass...you got it free with the purchase of a new game. It was only if you bought game used that you had to pay for the DLC separately which is cool by me.
ME3 didn't have a season pass either...From Ashes was a Collectors Edition bonus that you had to pay for separately if you just bought the base game. To me, that was crappy but still not a seasons pass

From the looks of it, EA may be abandoning the Season Pass route with their games(for example Star Wars: Battlefront 2 won't have a Season Pass and all the DLC will be free) so I don't find it unusual especially when it comes to Bioware games since they've never really gone that route.

I feel that- they wouldn't have left so many plot points unsatisfying open and unresolved if they thought there wasn't going to be dlc.

Even Dead Space 3 got a DLC.

Yeah. They announced that there will be no more season passes and old ones are now nullified and no longer required. I feel that- they wouldn't have left so many plot points unsatisfying open and unresolved if they thought there wasn't going to be dlc. I agree, but those could've been transitions/hype for a sequel.

Edit: Okay, fine. Everyone has already made that point. At the end of the day vonuber hit the nail on the hit regarding DLC.

Cerberus Network and the online pass were meant to incentivize buying the games new instead of used. EA's since discontinued things like that, with the content now available freely.

I felt like a parrot there for a sec. I think vonuber hit the nail on the head, though. We know there's at least 3 million copies sold, maybe more. If anyone doesn't think EA isn't salivating at charging $20 or more for MEA DLC to that base, well, they don't know EA very well.

I think one of the reasons peeps are so on edge over ME:A DLC is because of the game's "critical reception" and all of the Kotaku articles. I know for one that that shit spun me right up... which in hindsight was prolly their purpose...... I feel stupid now.
