It's circular bullshit in any case. They wrote themselves into a corner, simple as that. One might think that they already knew how this story ended when they decided on making a trilogy, but they went for anticlimatic and WTF. So you can say about the OT the route is the goal, not the ending. ...they changed writers in the middle of ME:2. Which is probably the reason the plot lost itself. Drew Karpyshyn probably had an ending that made sense...but one can only speculate. drews ending didn't sound much better tbh.

I have a feeling that the Archon will return in some way or another. I really fucking hope he doesn't. I hate him more than I hate Cerberus. He will have a transcended perspective and help us against the Kett and/or more.

No, no, no! He's as dead as Shepard! ... And yet they shouldn't even be mentioned in one breath. Andromeda's ending was a peculiar mixture of anticlimatic and satisfying. The anticlimatic part being the end fight with the usual generic hordes attacking you while you pushed the usual generic buttons. The satisfying part being the aftermath, where you could talk to all the survivors.

Yeah, I feel like the Starchild thing wasn't the best option, they should have kept brainstorming, but it was clear that victory would be the result of a backdoor/tech solution. Anyone else still subscribe to the indoctrination theory? Me. In some sense. Not just in the way that most big viewership Youtube videos describe it though. Gave up on that in 2013 or earlier.

Me. In some sense. Not just in the way that most big viewership Youtube videos describe it though. Gave up on that in 2013 or earlier. I never cared for that. For me it was always bending and shaping to make some sense of a nonsensical ending. I always felt as if someone saw Andy Warhol when all there was to see was just bad writing.

I didn't describe anything other than Reaper something happening - which was at least partially confirmed when a community manager (aka not 100% verifiable) described what the Catalyst was doing as an interfacing with Shepard's thoughts and memories. An old interview. If you mean the IT shootthetubeandbeatindoctrination, eh whatever then. But I wasn't ("In some sense.").

Yeah, well, one can only speculate because those endings presented in that interview were only ideas in his head and not anything practical. It was something he was building toward... Given his quality of writing previously, I'm not sure it would have been as obviously flawed as what we did receive. Not that people wouldn't have been pissed, the Bioware fans who have the vocal minority cry the loudest over anything new, but maybe we would have less to complain about.

Suikoden doesn't have a sense of humor or much of a life for that matter. You liked your post so it must be true. 😂 Two things: 1) It's the truth in regards to you. You spend your all time bashing a game and players that enjoy it because you're a miserable POS then play the victim card all the damn time because someone doesn't agree with moronic points. I had about every TW3 fanboy here and at BSN Prime tell me that I couldn't criticize TW3 because I didn't play it and that youtube videos didn't give me the proper context, and they were right, so as far as I'm concerned: THAT SAME RULE APPLIES TO YOU! 2) If I hated a game as much as you hate ME:A I would NOT be on every fansite bashing and being a useless fucking troll like you. Why should I waste one second of my life bashing a game that I hate and other people enjoy. I didn't enjoy TW2 but I don't go to every fucking Witcher fansite complaining about it. I would rather play another game, watch a movie, or do something that brings me joy than wallow in hate and rage that you do. And please spare me "Everybody is mean to me" or "You don't understand me" or "I'm just joking" defenses all of which is 100% bullshit with you, I understand you perfectly, you are not funny IMHO (others can think you are laugh riot and that there is right) and I know what you are: you are just a sad pathetic troll. You can't accept the simple fact that a lot of people enjoyed ME:A and you and others, want to ruin it because you are unable to get enjoyment out of it. I have seen you berate and make fun of people that I consider friends and that brings out my dark side, and if you think this post is a mean attack, trust me no one here has ever seen me post a "mean attack" and trust me this isn't one and you are damn lucky that you haven't seen me post a "mean attack" because they aren't fun. Also if I can't like my own posts then what is point? Other than the point on your head that is.

OK so I have discussed the narrative strengths of MEA before, but recently...thanks to a user comment on the weaknesses of MEA... I remembered that I have not talked about some other things MEA did well. And since this is one of my favorite concepts of writing, and since I was intending to talk about it, and don't think I have, here we go. aaaand snip Hm, you justify your "andromeda is well written" on some revelation and a ton of but moments? Whats with the stuff that ties this revelations and buts, the big picture, and the small? You are right in everything you say BUT then I think about the extremely light tone in this extremely serious and dangerous situation and it all goes through the window.

Refresh my memory wasn't Drew's endings were something like Shepard had to choose between basically turning the entire human race into some kind of a Super Reaper that could stop dark energy from destroy the galaxy or destroying all the Reapers and then having the humans lead the other races to stop dark energy from destroying the galaxy? IMHO that doesn't sound any better than the endings to ME3.

Whats with the stuff that ties this revelations and buts, the big picture, and the small? You are right in everything you say BUT then I think about the extremely light tone in this extremely serious and dangerous situation and it all goes through the window. Two things. 1. In like 99% of situations you control the tone of your Ryder and the game. Sure you cannot control the tone of the other characters but most people complain about Ryder's 'tone' or the joking manner, when you are perfectly capable of NOT choosing the casual dialogue. Or the emotional. The amount of times when Ryder can exhibit cool headed professionalism may actually exceed the times when he can be some Jack O'Neill clone. And, as I have said playing a Logical/ Professional with a dash of Casual Ryder reminded me very much of my experiences with my paragrade Fem Shepard in the trilogy. Someone who was military, mission, and duty first...yet someone who could still relax with their crew. 2. The 'tone' can come down to nothing but personal taste. My three favorite shows of all time are Stargate SG-1, Farscape, and Game of Thrones...well three of my favorite shows...SG-1 is light hearted high adventure (very similar to MEA actually), Game of Thrones is a borderline grim dark...almost entirely humorless...world. Farscape is a show that can get dark and serious but also be uproriously humorous at the drop of the hat. Seriously, watch the episode 'Won't Get fooled again'. And since I can like light toned pieces of entertainment, dark toned pieces of entertainment, and entertainment that can do both, I like Andromeda. If Andromeda's tone/ bathos ain't for you...its just not for you...and actually Suikoden made this very point.

I will say this, one of the key weaknesses I find in the writing of the game is the way terminology is handled in small details. Examples: words like Heleus, Kett, Scourge. The asari captain on the Lucy-whatever says "kett" when they couldn't have learned that word yet. The kett use the word scourge, even though it was a term the Nexus yokels thought up. The angara don't have their own word for the cluster and just use Heleus and even Andromeda. I always found those little things bothersome.

At least in the EC i could destroy the Reapers and let the galaxy move on without their guiding tentacles.
