I still see many well equipped / high Apex rating players playing Gold games on PS4.
I tried to PuG Platinum few times... but most lobbies were filled with players with Apex rating below 2000 and below level 15 kits with no booster equipped.
Currently I am planning to not touch Platinum games until I max rare characters to XX and unlock all Uncommon / Rare variants of weapons.
The next patch is probably far away from happen.. but I feel like another patch is required to make Platinum games feel just right.
Just a quick question.. if you are reading this playing Platinum games frequently.
Is there noticeable difficulty difference between three factions?

Yep, been playing the Apex missions mainly which have been Remnant (and just had Outlaw).
There are quite a number of people with less than level XX characters, or under 10,000 Apex ratings playing. They just take the Avenger or Huntress to try to stay alive.
What's odd about the Remnant, is you see more Outlaws than anything. Adhis, Berserkers, and Saboteurs (holy shit a whole wave of Saboteurs!!!!).
Outlaws are basically 3 Berserkers running at you all round long. Kill them, they respawn and run at you immediately. You kill everything else as a byproduct of killing Berserkers.
I did a random Platinum and got Kett. Didn't get a hack or upload, but their composition is basically the ascendant sitting on your head with Anointed charging you the whole time. Think of gold Kett extraction plus all other enemies with tons more health.

It was a lot of fun, but it would be WAY tougher without cloaks. We will adapt in due time... |

The main difference between the factions at platinum are boss type mobs. You will never see a destroyer on outlaws or kett, but you'll be swimming in them on remnant. I have also never seen nullifiers outside of remnant. And yes, I've been running plat almost exclusively - its a fun challenge and as your sig says, they are always a new challenge  I'll keep gold for leveling my sub 20 characters. With addition of higher character ranks, most groups I've seen blaze through gold. |

They can use themselves as decoy and when 3-4 enemies get together simply blow them away with 2-3 grenades. Other kits are not as easy... especially when they get stunned and lose shield gate. haha I tried to play some PuG games but mostly failed to find good lobby. Most lobbies I found were filled with underwhelming looking players that were just desperately trying to finish an Apex mission...  Right now I am actually enjoying super easy Gold games thanks to XX characters (except Hack part) ...I might be able to have fun in Gold until new patch adjust Platinum to be bit more balanced and player friendly.. lol I am planning to go Platinum more often once I max my Kromerc to XX with Soned Siphon. lol |

I've only played a handful of platinum games, and almost exclusively with friends. I don't actually find it all that fun, more tedious. Some of my favourite characters are borderline useless in platinum, and same goes for several guns I like on gold. Platinum, at least for now, seems too focused on cloaking and spike damage for me to enjoy.
I'm also still full of piss and vinegar over the massive unlock spike, and playing a lot less as a result.

One really good thing about patch 1.09 is how easy Gold difficulty has become with XX characters. I don`t think Kroguard can even die... if you completely ignore some objectives... lol Just charge.. headbutt.. and use nova when you are in danger.. haha |

This sort of reminds me of my dear deceased Aunt's view on money at different stages of life. She felt that people tend to have the least when they need it the most, and vice-versa - people starting out trying to buy and furnish their first home, get career training and wardrobe, start a family, benefit from travel and other costly opportunities, etc. generally have the least. By the time they've accumulated some net worth, later in life, their need for it is not as great. So - she thought that whole thing was backwards. It's kind of the same deal with the way loot in most games work. By the time you've earned the credits to unlock all of the gear you want to take into Platinum, you won't need it's higher rewards anymore - or as much. |

Surprisingly, 1st wave is semi-difficult with Adhi, Berserker, and Observer rushing from all sides. I have not played Kett yet as we only played APEX missions for the 143,750 credits. We got kind of lucky in our game as that Turian Agent in our game was a pug and he did well. The next game after you left was flat out brutal as we had 2 horrible pugs so it was basically a 2-man game. It took us 35 minutes and we beat the wave 6 hack with only 5 seconds remaining. |

That 39% melee buff is ridiculous... I didn`t even specc into melee damage tree in Rage... yet he still manages to one or two head butt almost everything... lol |

What I love is that early waves of Kett have more enemies from Outlaws and they do from Kett.
I can't decide whether that's because Bioware tried it with more Kett units and it was too hard, or because someone wanted to troll me by Destined-cloaking a Pariah and having it invisibly backlash in front of me...

Ha! I know right? You see APEX 100-500 on Gold with Avengers and Katanas (they don't even bother switching or customizing their loadouts) with no boosters nor equipment jumping into Gold ready to get their asses handed over and be as useless as humanly possible, however you see High APEX (20-30k) dudes doing Bronze when it's Daily challenge time. Like, WHAT? you can't do Gold when it's "Waves" ? it's kill two birds with one stone, since you're actually getting credits plus completing the Daily. Same with "power masteries" why doing Bronze? not enough enemies + you don't get enough points and it takes for ever to complete.
On the topic's question. No, I won't even bother.
Not gonna risk myself getting a hearth attack with PUGs. It has to be done with known decent people, and I have none with those requirements on my friend's list.
Never enjoyed Plat in ME3 either. And if I'm not having fun, then what's the point? Gold is for me. Maybe in a future, it's not like I have enough decent kits/weapons maxed to perform decently on Plat anyways.

It's a blast with a good team... but can be a pain with leechers.
It's a lot more fun than gold imo, gotta be on your toes and moving constantly or you're screwed. I've found that situational awareness is key. Gold doesn't punish you like platinum does, and I like that. Plus there's more enemy variety and that's always a plus.
I like it A LOT more than ME3 platinum.

The problem is in their current implementation and their short sighted "no child left behind" character model, they've set up the means to do 9-12 minute golds without boosters and 6-7 minute golds with boosters. Under that time frame platinum is essentially worthless as a farming or XP tool.
3MP set up a careful and purposed mix of characters and mods that could be used for platinum or to do gold either through inexperienced or lesser skilled players with only a couple of outliers like cameltoe or discount rack zaeed that tipped balance into roflstomp territory, or the Juggernaut and Warlord for slower yet "guaranteed" results.
With what AMP has in the current state of release, with basically any character save a few, there's no point in running through plat for loots when you can cruise through gold without even fully levelled gear much, MUCH faster.

I'll keep gold for leveling my sub 20 characters. With addition of higher character ranks, most groups I've seen blaze through gold.
