Now, if I wanted something signed I would want the lead writer as opposed to some rando dev that I never heard of before. Strange though that its just the video game guys as opposed to the people that actually wrote the comics, but I imagine they'll be there. However, these are guys that'll you see for interviews or written interviews about upcoming content. Also, there more likely to announce said dlc at fan related events as opposed to E3 or Gamescom. The last significant dlc BioWare has done:Trespasser was announced at--I think a Pax event. However, if nothing gets announced and they continue this narrative of, "we can't talk about." There won't be getting any dlc and a bit annoyed at them for yanking our chain for so long. Like, how hard is it to say yes or no if they continue to use the, "we can't talk about" narrative?

I'm going 50/50 but leaning towards "no". Normally, I'd go a solid "no" at SDCC but, with the names involved", it's definitely intriguing and the only reason I see it as a possibility. While Mac is the lead writer of the franchise, I don't think he wrote the "Mass Effect: Discovery" comic, I think that was John Donbrow. So the fact the main man who supposedly took over the faltering development and got it playable in 18 months, along with two main producers, are showing up makes it a legit possibility.

I agree. Or, well, no 'announcement' at an event at all. I put 'maybe' for the same reason. I don't expect late July but it can happen. I do expect August IF DLC is going to happen as a thing (whether 1 or 2-4, whatever). I don't expect September but it is possible, especially if they have a mix of a too diminished team and pressure to have it release right, while patching (theoretically). But indeed, hints could happen. If DLC is real, I think they'd want to be very sure about its existence and release date before even starting to more overtly hint. I can say that with the patching at this point, its arguably (even if not definitely, its enough for my tastes, at least if they keep patching onward) ready for DLC now. |

Is the Voice Actors strike over yet (relative to EA and the other AAA companies who were holding out)? If no, then no. If yes, then maybe. Will all hope of a DLC end if they don't? Of course not... still far too early to give up hope. Will hoards of naysayers here continue to demand the people give up all hope... some things never change.

If they do, it'll be here. Mac has been in hibernation for three months since his twitter post saying that "they're listening" to feedback, and it'll be interesting to see what he has to say.

I'm more inclined to believe DLC will be announced (if indeed, there is any in the pipeline) in exactly the same way they've always announced DLC - that is, out of the blue. I can't remember them ever announcing any DLC at any conventions.
Its really easy to get into a bubble with the atmosphere on this forum. Aside from Jason's ego trips, very few actually care that DLC hasn't been announced yet, including the people who enjoyed it. I very much doubt Bioware are actually nervous about the effects of continued silence. Hell, its not even their decision to keep schtum.
The same goes for all this bollocks about how if it isn't announced here, it won't be announced at all. If it were announced at this comic con it would be early-to-normal by Bioware's release track record, and that's assuming everything went smoothly with the main game release (which is fairly clear didn't happen in this case).
