Myrddin Lavellan, male Elf, mage. He grew up as the First of his clan, knowing that he'd have to lead someday... He just didn't expect that the Inquisition would become his new clan. -Romanced Iron Bull. -Friends with every companion. (though Blackwall was his BFF) -Blackwall was pardoned and he remained with the Inquisition. -Not entirely sure what Dorian did tbh... He said that he was going to leave, then said he was not going to, and then he apparently... Did? -Saved the Chargers (to hell with the Qun). -Cassandra rebuilt the Seekers. -Leliana was redeemed. -Elevated the Du Paraquettes to nobility. -Cullen no longer addicted to lyrium.
Plot decisions: -Leashed the Templar order. -The Inquisitor was the heart of the newly founded order. -Stroud was left in the Fade. -Allied with the Grey Wardens (after yelling at them). -Celene and Briala reconciled. -Did the rituals, but didn't ally with the Ancient Elves (my Inquisitor and I immensely regret their death, however). -Calpernia left to confront Corypheus and eventually return to Tevinter. -Inquisitor drank from the Well of Sorrows (no brainer, really. Mythal can take over whenever she wants). -Leliana is Divine Victoria. As a result, the Templars formally and unanimously disbanded their order forever (...until Vivienne re-established the Circle, I assume). -Attempt to redeem Solas. -Inquisition was kept as peacekeeping force.

Ellana Lavellan (female dalish elf) Rouge 2 weapons Assassin Romanced Solas
Political views: Believes in dalish creators Neutral between mages and templars
Party: Cole is more spirit Bull saved the chargers Cullen overcame his addiction Got Vivienne the heart Dorian is patching things with his father Never met Leliana before DAI so she didn't know Morrigan nor Alistair
Rulers: Alistair is king and reigns with the warden Celine rules but did not reconcile with Briala and Gaspard lives
I loved this inquisitor because she's very different to my warden and my Hawke, my "DA soul" is a faithful human of noble descent, so making the most powerful PC yet a female elf was a different experience specially since I find dalish hunters such badass that made sense in my head that she'd have what it takes to lead the inquisition and at the same time fall for someone like Solas (and for someone like him to fall for her)

Quoted for format. The InquisitorName: Maximilian Trevelyan Race: Human Class: Mage Gender: Male Romance: Josephine Declared for: Restoring order, blah blah. Herald of Andraste: Privately skeptical, publicly embraces role. Plot missions:IHW: Conscripted the Mages-Maximilian respects Fiona and sympathizes with the rebellion, but the Breach took priority at the moment, and conscription seemed more politically expedient. WEWH: Gaspard rules alone-Celene's incompetence and love of the Game started the entire mess in Orlais. Maximilian needed troops, not schemers. HTLA: Wardens allied with the Inquisition, Hawke left in the Fade in favor of Loghain-Hawke was a known mage radical and apostate, much less useful than Loghain, who would help reorganize and stabilize the Wardens. WPHW: Aided the Sentinels, respected the rituals, but Morrigan drank-Max was genuinely interested in the Temple and its history, but recognized a geass when he saw one. Divine Victoria: Vivienne-The only freedom for mages will be institutional-Vivienne recognized this. Inquisitor Ameridan: Revealed the truth about him being an Elven Mage-Further legitimizes mages in positions of power and hurts the image of the old Chantry. Exalted Council: Inquisition downsized under the Chantry-Maximilian would never give up what he's built. Fen'Harel: Attempting to redeem-Was friends with Solas, and thinks the situation can be contained. Companion outcomes:Blackwall: Warden-Too poetic to pass up. Bull: Killed during Trespasser-Max didn't trust Bull (an admitted Qunari agent) or the Chargers (possible sleepers) for an instant. The Qunari alliance seemed suspect too, but they did send him useful intelligence. This didn't make up for what happened during Tresspasser, but the Venatori did less damage than they could have. Cassandra: Still with the Inquisition-Frankly, Max dislikes the idea of the Seekers, and his Inquisition has provided a more than adequate replacement anyway. Cole: Spirit nature restored-Trying to make Cole fit the mold of a 'human' seemed irresponsible and presumptuous. Cole isn't a person, and shouldn't be forced to act like one. Dorian: Convinced him to reconcile with his father. Sera: Didn't get along very well, but she never left. Solas: Helped rescue his Spirit friend, protected mages. Varric: Discovered Bianca leaked Primeval thaig location. Vivienne: Given the Snowy Wyvern Heart for Bastien. AdvisorsCullen: Had him stay on lyrium-The middle of a war seemed like a bad time to try and get off of lyrium. If Cullen couldn't try again later, it's his own fault. Josephine: Took the long way with removing the contract, as she preferred. Leliana: Steeled-Spymasters need to be able to do whatever it takes.

i don't know i tried 3 playthroughs and didn't finish any of them, in fact i deleted them all, a very painful and dreadful game to play.
but some "key" decisions i guess will be:
mister moustache left in the fade.
Inquisition disbanded.
Sided and allied with Templars.
the best good ending from the celene quest (dunno cause i didn't played that part xD)
i have to decide if i want Leliana or Cassandra to be divines. (i'm not sure, cause my main canon warden has a romance with her and i don't know what is best even if i read the epilogue slides)
the rest, well as bioware erased the classic and cool import save, and now we have that shit called keep, i will fill the rest in there when the time comes.
for the question "why they're canon for you". Cause is the continuity of the previous two games, nothing special.

As i'm not selfish, i don't see this ending bad either in fact, it's feels more "real", that's why i'm having a hard time to make a decision, i guess i'll just flip a coin. thanks for the insight tho.

The Inquisitor
Name: Cassandra Lavellan Race: Elf Class: Rogue Gender: Female Romance: Cullen
Declared for: An Elf standing for Thedas. Herald of Andraste: Adamant heretic, hates the Chantry vehemently
Plot missions:
IHW: Alliance with the Templars. WEWH: Celene assassinated, Briala ruling through Gaspard as a puppet king. Just waiting for him to snap. HTLA: Wardens allied with the Inquisition, Alistair left in the Fade, was Warden romance *bawls*. WPHW: Aided the Sentinels, Inquisitor drank from the Well, because fuck some random weird mage taking her birthright. Divine Victoria: Hardened Leliana. On purpose. Trying to topple the Chantry.
Exalted Council: Inquisition disbanded (to consolidate forces and try to prevent further infiltration). Fen'Harel: Stop with extreme prejudice.
Companion outcomes:
Blackwall: Made a Grey Warden. Bull: Saved the Chargers and declared Tal-Vashoth. Cassandra: Rebuilding the Seekers. Cole: Made more human. Dorian: Convinced him to reconcile with his father. Sera: We didn't get on. Solas: Hated each other, so so much. "I don't think of myself as an elf". Pow, right to the kisser. Varric: Discovered Bianca leaked Primeval thaig location. Vivienne: Given the Snowy Wyvern Heart for Bastien.
Advisors
Cullen: Overcame his lyrium addiction. Josephine: Solved politically and restored her family's fortunes. Leliana: Hardened. Not encouraged exactly but not stopped nearly often enough .
---
I played this character as an "Elves First" character, which worked very well considering the themes. When Solas revealed that he was intending to lift up the elves, despite hating him passionately through the whole game, she wanted to help... until he revealed it wouldn't be these elves he would be helping, they'd have to die.
She wants to master the whisper of the Well and to teach her people the things she had learned. Also, for the first time I don't have a happy ever after romance for a character. Somewhere, she started regretting her relationship with Cullen, but then it was never the right time to have that conversation and then she was dying and he proposed and she thought she'd do one last thing to make it easier for him...
Now she feels trapped and all she wants to do is go back to the clans.
Originally she wanted to keep the Inquisition, but realised that she wasn't the only one who longed to go home, and that they could. She did it for the soldiers, not the politicians.
She's one of my most complex BioWare characters.

Welp... is it sad that despite replaying my 'canon' a number of times, I still can't make up my mind about certain decisions? As of today I have a few characters/world-states I'm preparing for DA4 port, but my current main char looks like this:
Name: Asurina Lavellan Class/Spec: Rift Mage Gender: Female Romanced: Solas
Declared for: Exemplar. Herald of Andraste/Religion in general: Skeptical Non-believer ("I don't know")
Plot missions:
IHW: Allied with the Mages. WEWH: Celene rules Orlais, reconciled with Briala, Gaspard executed. HTLA: Wardens exiled, Loghain left in the Fade, Hawke saved. WPHW: Aided the Sentinels, Morrigan drank from the Well. Divine Victoria: Leliana.
Inquisitor Ameridan: Revealed the truth about him being an Elven Mage. Exalted Council: Inquisition disbanded. Fen'Harel: Attempt to redeem.
Companion outcomes:
Blackwall: Pardoned. Bull: Tal-Vashoth, Chargers saved. Cassandra: Rebuilding the Seekers. Cole: Made more spirit. Dorian: Convinced him to reconcile with his father. Sera: Supported her work as a Jenny. Solas: Helped rescue his Spirit friend, saved mages from Solas' wrath. Varric: Discovered Bianca leaked Primeval thaig location. Vivienne: Given the Snowy Wyvern Heart for Bastien.
Advisors Cullen: Overcame his lyrium addiction. Josephine: Contract removed via diplomacy. Leliana: Softened.
__________________________________
Asurina is my canon, because ultimately the story I've spun in my mind for her came to be my favorite and most elaborate out of the bunch.
I think other backgrounds and races have enough material to create interesting arcs or conflicts or tensions or relationships, given what we learn throughout the story, hence I have a few of those as well - but my studious little imp who uses charm, diplomacy or wit before she decides to whack someone with a magic boulder, and who ultimately found her calling in trying to make the world at least a little better for everyone (yet somehow managed to fall in love in someone who threatens it) has stood out for me and therefore remains my 'main'.

I kinda wish to make a world where Vivienne and Fiona has exact amount of mages in their sides. It should make the mage civil war hinted at the end much better

I tend to make my canon characters the ones who intermesh with the overall story the most. Except for Origins, but I really like my Queen Cousland. For DA2 this is mage Hawke romancing Anders, and it's gonna be female elf romancing Solas.
~ drank from the Well ~ promised to kill Solas ~ Briala rules Orlais through Gaspard ~ saved the mages ~ didn't disband the Inquisition ~ Leliana is Divine ~ gave the Wardens another chance

I'm not one for "canon" PTs, since I'll play the game many times, importing each Inquisitor at some point. I lack the will to give a detailed accounting as some have done, but I have three Inquisitors that I really enjoyed.
Sulahn'nehn Lavellan is a KE Mage who romanced Solas. She allied with the Templars, and most certainly did not drink from the Vir'abelasan. She's friends with all her companions, though less close with Sera due to a rocky start. Cassandra rebuilt the Seekers and became Divine Victoria. Sulahn'nehn ditched the valleslin once she understood its meaning.
Kordillus Trevelyan is a 2H Warrior Champion who romanced Lady Montilyet. He is a true believer from a family of believers. (I enjoyed using the Andrastian throne and some of the decor with him. Vivienne commrnted on the excellent choice.) He allied with the Templars, and did not drink from the Well of Sorrows. Cassandra became Divine Victoria, and rebuilt the Seekers. Kordillus was truly friends with each companion, even sharing cookies with silly Sera.
Fenassan Lavellan (not to be confused with venison) is an Archer Assassin who romanced Cassandra. He allied with the Templars, and let Mortigan drink from the Vir'abelasan. He was friends with all of his companions, though Sera never shared her cookies. His romance with Cassandra proved star-crossed, as she rose to become Divine Victoria.
There is some variety amongst the other weighty decisions in each PT, though Celene always rules Orlais alone. I really need to add a Mage-Alliance/Conscription to this list, but I've not yet been able to complete such a PT. Picking them over the Templars just sets my teeth on edge. It feels completely wrong. I'll make it happen, before DA4. (Or I'll doctor up an import via the Keep.) I guess each of my Inquisitors also makes the same decision to disband the Inquisition, in the end.

Freed Mages Declared for faith Drank from the well Stop Solas at all costs Stroud left in the abyss Celene rules Orlais alone Disbanded the Inquisition Hardened Leliana is Divine Was a recruiting Inquisitor Accepted being chosen by Andraste

My canon is Saetha Lavellan, an archer that is hardcore pro-Dalish. She on Solas like white on rice, sided with the mages, let Celene die so Briala could use Gaspard as a puppet, and would happily have drowned Morrigan in the Well before she drank out of it.
Hawke gets left in the Fade because we're not altogether sure at that point that Cory's dragon isn't an Archdemon and we might need what few Wardens we can apparently find. Blackwall is told, "You want to be a Warden so badly? Be one, but not until we're done here. Then GTFO." Cole's a spirit because why would she want another human?!
Bloodthirsty Leliana is Divine. Despite Cassandra's pretty words it didn't seem like she'd have the balls to back it up while Leliana was almost ruthless enough to admire. She's confused by the Qunari and their elf ears, but not enough to take an alliance because all of that brainwashing makes her skin crawl. The Chargers still carouse in her tavern!
She mocked the idea that she was the Herald of Andraste at any opportunity. In the beginning she just wanted to get this done and go home. In the end, she disbanded the Inquisition to dump all of the spies (she hopes) and re-form a tighter group she could trust to help her figure out where Solas went...so she could help him restore elves to their former glory. Maybe those shems would die in the resulting rush of the Fade but she's pretty sure the elves and dwarves will be fine.
She's...kinda nuts.

I don't have a canon at the moment since the only playthroughs I've really enjoyed have used romance mods. Hmm, it will really depend on what the inquisitor's role is in DA4. If it's minimal, I'll probably chose my f!Cadash who romance Blackwall, a warrior, did the Calpernia storyline, definitely didn't drink the well. Not friendly with Solas.
If the inquisitor plays a significant role, I'll probably create a male Lavellan, archer, unromanced or romancing Bull, saved the mages, saved the Wardens, drank from the Well (if I never hear from Morrigan again I'll be the happiest player in the world) and was a good friend to Solas.

Race: Dalish
Class: Rogue/archer
Gender: Female
Romance: Solas
Campaign Decisions: Denied being Andraste's Herald Founding Principle of the Inquisition: Restoration of Order Champions of the Just: Mages are allies Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: Briala and Celene reunited Here Lies the Abyss: Wardens not exiled - Stroud died in the fade Morrigan drank from the Well of Sorrows Allied with Abelas Destroyed Samson's armor Divine Victoria is Leliana (softened) Revealed the truth about Inquisitor Ameridan Disbanded the Inquisition Redeeming Solas
Companions:
Blackwall: Pardoned Cassandra: Rebuilt Seekers Cullen: Overcame lyrium addiction Dorian: Reconciled with his fathe - romanced Iron Bull The Iron Bull: Saved Chargers Josephine: Diplomatic route Sera: Forced noble to give all power to the Inquisition Solas: Freed his friend Lelina: Softened Vivienne: Gave the heart of Snowy Wyvern Varric: Helped find Red Lyrium leak Cole: Spirit
I feel like this is my cannon, because I like the games, where the romances seem to have a deeper impact: Alistair/Morrigan in DA:O, Anders in DA:II and Solas in DA:I. I also like a more positive worldstate.

My qunari warrior is a super buff Amazonian goddess. She had a good reason to be at the Conclave - muscle, hired by the socially liberal future Pope who was friends with Sten - and she actually looks like she could survive a magical nuke. :sure:

I don't have a strong factor as to why my canon inquisitor is the canon one. It's just that my first character is always a female human. And she's a mage basically because my canon Cousland is a warrior and my canon Hawke is a rogue, so I wanted to complete a set. Grace Travelyan. Specialization: Knight-Enchanter Romanced Sera Companions -Solas rescues his spirit friend, and didn't let him kill the mages -Cole is more human -Blackwall is a warden -Iron Bull saved Chargers -Dorian reconciled with his father -Vivienne gave her the snowy wyvern heart -Sera forces Harmond to work for the Inquisition -Cassandra rebuilding the Seekers -Varric discovered Bianca was the leak Advisors -Cullen overcame his lyrium addiction -Leliana softened -Josephine was helped by assassins -Leliane is the divine Mages conscripted Erimond was tranquilized Stroud's in the fade Celene and Briala are together Wardens rebuit Morrigan drank from the well Will try to put some reason in Solas. The inquisition's preserved. ----- But I really want to use my awesome Lavellan that punched Solas, and is a two( I'm expecting that Dagna will make a mechanic arm, dammit!) handed warrior that specialized as a templar and ready to kill Solas!

It's awesome to see how different our cannons are. I thought mine would be a boring "everyone does that" playthrough, but it is apperently very different from most. It's awesome! Thanks for sharing this guys.

Female Dalish Elf Mage, KE (the other one is rogue, dw tempest/assassin) Romaced Cullen who is not addicted anymore (they're married) Sided with Mages as equals (the other one sided with Templars as equals) Divine: softened Leliana (the other one is Cassandra) All companions Bull chose chargers over politics Josephine helped by hard work instead of Leliana's assassins Dorian reconnected with his father Blackwall still in Inquisition Alexius as an Agent Erimond gave to Wardens Celene dead, Briala & Gaspard working together (the other one is only Gaspard) Human Cole Sera killed that noble who played with us Clan Lavellan wiped out Drank from the well (how could I make Morrigan drink from it? Her son needs her) Alistair dead in the fade Wardens joined the Inquisition Inquisition preserved
I'll most likely try to finish pt with romancing Sera and siding with Templars as prisoners and softened Leliana as a divine.

My first character is always my 'canon' one. I have a tradition of playing them again before the next game comes out, but I have a rule about not changing major decisions unless I have a really good reason. ANYway, my canon Inquisitor:
Kathlin Cadash, dual-wielding Assassin.
Romanced: Blackwall.
Blackwall: Joined the Grey Wardens. (So all Kathlin has left is a badge and a feather. Oh well, those are the breaks.) Cassandra: Befriended, rebuilt the Seekers. Cole: Befriended, became more like a spirit. Dorian: Befriended. (When I play again, I am going to get him together with Iron Bull, no matter how much standing on rocks waiting for them to banter it takes.) Iron Bull: Befriended, left the Qun. (See above comments about Dorian for what I'll change in future.) Sera: Not befriended, which is the other thing I'm hoping to change when I replay Kathlin. Both because Kathlin was friends with everyone else, and because I want her to be a Jenny with an awesome crossbow arm. She would be so good at it! Solas: Befriended; Kathlin is going to try to redeem him. I do not expect this to work, but it would be out of character for her to do anything else. Varric: Befriended. Vivienne: Befriended, in charge of the new Circle.
Cullen: Stopped taking lyrium. Josephine: Settled the contract without killing anyone. Leliana: I, for one, welcome our new Murder Pope.
Other stuff:
- Sided with the Mages as equal allies.
- Celene rules Orlais, Gaspard is dead. (I didn't reuinte Celene with Briala on my first run, but it was mostly because I didn't find enough of the stupid fucking deer statues to get the locket. So I'm still debating what I'll do next time.)
- Grey Wardens are rebuilding after Hawke sacrificed herself.
- Morrigan drank from the Well. (Now there's a decision I have no regrets about whatsoever.)
- Cheerfully disbanded the Inquisition.

Artemis Lavellan. Because I like him and his worldstate is the best one out there (for me at least).
Edit: is it fine for me to say that he got along with everyone and was a mage? kk c: done this like 100 times in the past.

A Trevelyan for sure. Male. Toss up with mage or rogue but I feel like a noble isn't going to end up a rogue. Mage is out of their control so it works fine, which means Aleric Trevelyan. Not a fan of warrior so I'd leave that to others.
Why? I like playing humans. Elf was okay but then I think of that skinny arm holding up the giant sword when being declared Inquisitor. I doesn't seem like he would be capable of holding it! Trevelyan looks sturdy enough. I've never played qunari or dwarf and it's unlikely to change.
Aleric and [modded] Cullen have a great romance. Other Trevelyans have gone to Dorian but not this one.
Aleric is fair in his judgments, often finding ways to make use of them rather than chuck them off the spot where the prison cells are located. That's a long way down. Mostly they're not terrible people so much as ones who made bad decisions. Love sending that one guy and his clan to Tevinter with as many weapons as they can carry. The worst I did was send the mage who was controlling the Wardens back to them. I can imagine he was treated poorly before they executed him. Though it could be amusing if he was made into a Warden and forced to fight Darkspawn. Corypheus is a Darkspawn so that would work out well. I'm sure he'd die in that battle.
Hmm...maybe next time I'll play him as kind to his allies but very cruel to his enemies.

Nerevar (Yes that Nerevar =P all my characters are named after TES characters) Lavellan, because there's something poetic about the guy standing up to the Dread Wolf and calling his plans madness, being a fellow elf. Plus Inquisition was very Elven centric anyway imo, and its fitting for Mythal's champion to be one, he was also a magic and i sure love me some poetry, and the guy standing up to the mad magister being another mage just seems right y'know?
Reman Hawke died in the fade but it seemed fitting and a fine ending for the guy. My Dwarf Warden Tiber Aeducan will hopefully make an appearence in the next game though =D

So I've changed again. Given my general preference for variety in PC's I've abandoned my All-Qunari All the time gig. I've instead gone with a different race for each class. Warrior: Vashoth Mercenary - makes sense for a Security Guard to stumble on to the Ritual, I've already exhaustively Detailed this If Male, Romancing Cassandra, if Female, Romancing Sera
Mage: Human Circle Mage - Hob-nobbing at the Peace Conference, gets bored and wanders around, stumbling on Coryphishits Ritual. If Male, Romancing Cassandra, if Female, Romancing Cullen
Rogue: Carta Dwarf being sneaky and arranging Lyrium gigs in the shadows, stumbles on to the Ritual If Male, romances Dorian/Josephine, If Female, romances Sera/Iron Bull.
The Mage'll go to Fiona, the other two'll leash the Templars.
