I am taking up more space in the thread with a change of mind. Here is the Canon I will take:
Female Dwarf, Witty/Charming 2H Warrior (Champion w/battleaxe, focusing on "magical" abilities) Romanced Blackwall, then Iron Bull dedicated Carta negotiator, does not believe in Andraste or being the Herald
Companions: Cassandra-friends, rebuilt Seekers Solas-Must Be Stopped! Varric-friends, tracked leak to Bianca Sera-didn't recruit Vivienne-close friends and confidantes, helped with potion, Divine Iron Bull-friends, saved Chargers and became Tal-Vashoth Blackwall-ex-lovers, friends, but executed in Val Royeaux Cole-sided against Solas and dismissed Cole from Inquisition as demon threat Dorian-friends, reconciled with father
Advisors: Leliana-wasn't Inquisitor yet, so didn't interfere with Leliana's resolution to her traitor agent. Despite Inquisitor's later efforts, Leliana became steeled. Cullen-dropped Lyrium, and beat addiction Josephine-favors were done to restore her family
Sided with Templars, and the order was restored with Ser Barris Celene rules Orlais in three-way truce, Inquisitor was more charming than they expected! Grey Wardens rebuilt after Stroud sacrificed himself Inquisitor spared Calpernia and told Morrigan she could have strange magic stuff from the Well of Sorrows Disbanded Inquisition since work was over

So I've changed again. Given my general preference for variety in PC's I've abandoned my All-Qunari All the time gig. I've instead gone with a different race for each class. Warrior: Vashoth Mercenary - makes sense for a Security Guard to stumble on to the Ritual, I've already exhaustively Detailed this If Male, Romancing Cassandra, if Female, Romancing Sera
Mage: Human Circle Mage - Hob-nobbing at the Peace Conference, gets bored and wanders around, stumbling on Coryphishits Ritual. If Male, Romancing Cassandra, if Female, Romancing Cullen
Rogue: Carta Dwarf being sneaky and arranging Lyrium gigs in the shadows, stumbles on to the Ritual If Male, romances Dorian/Josephine, If Female, romances Sera/Iron Bull.
The Mage'll go to Fiona, the other two'll leash the Templars.

Lady Lavellan, a knight enchanter, leader of the sneaky Inquisition, doesn't believe in the Herald business. (major story choices) -Conscripted Templars (I was going to save mages next, but they ran from Redcliffe!) -Became Inquisitor to restore order to Thedas -Celene and Briala rule Orlais -Wardens exiled from south (Corypheus could control them after all) -Convinced Calpernia to stand down -Drank from the Well -Cassandra is Divine Victoria -Disbanded Inquisition -Declared she would redeem Solas -Became a Red Jenny (companions) -Single (I did flirt with Harding, but she does not count as romance apparently) -Friends with everyone -Dorian didn't reconcile with his father -Blackwall freed and embraced his real identity -Bull's Chargers are alive and well, The Iron Bull is Tal-Vashoth -Cassandra decided to rebuild Seekers -Encouraged Cole to be more human -Freed Solas's spirit friend, killed mages -Gave Viviene heart she asked for -Cullen freed from addiction -Leliana softened -Josie saved from the assassination plot Notes: This was the first playthrough I actually finished Inquisition with (took me about 36 attempts ), and I really liked how it all turned out. The only thing I would possibly change is to romance Solas, but I haven't been quite prepared for that heartbreak yet, so single for now.

My male Elf Inquisitor, whom I headcanon to have left the Dalish when he was still quite young, as such he doesn't have much respect or interest in them. He's a mage - a necromancer - and as an obsession with both spirits and the undead because of it. He's pretty strictly an atheist and absolutely would've run away from the Inquisition if he had a choice early on. He goes on the romance Cassandra.
Major Story Choices: - Allied with Mages - Founded the Inquisition because there was no option to run the other way (I don't remember my exact choice) - Kept the Wardens; left Hawke in the Fade (Alistair is with the Wardens) - Briala rules through Gaspard - Drank from the Well of Sorrows (He didn't trust Morrigan enough to let her have that kind of power, but he's not particularly happy to have it either) - Softened Leliana as Divine - Disbanded the Inquisition
Companion Choices: - Blackwall is pardoned - Cole is more human - The Chargers (and therefore Bull) are alive - Cullen dropped lyrium - Killed the assassins after Josephine - Sera stayed with the Inquisition; Inquisitor became a Red Jenny after Trespasser - Dorian reconciled with his father - Vivienne got the white wyvern's heart - Cassandra is rebuilding the Seekers - Did Solas' personal quest; threatened him at the end of Trespasser

Given that I have several world states in the keep, I don't feel like I have a One True Inquisitor. It's a guarantee that I'll be bringing several forward. That said, I have two favorites. Danae Lavellan Class: Mage (Knight-Enchanter) Romance: Cullen
The Wrath of Heaven: Fully cooperated with Cassandra. She chose the mountain path, hoping to find the lost squad of soldiers. Denied being chosen by Andraste.
In Hushed Whispers: Formed an alliance with the mages.
In Your Heart Shall Burn: Managed to help Harritt and rescued all the townspeople. Her conversation with Mother Giselle confirms her non-belief, at least until she learns of Ameridan and begins to emulate him.
'I will lead us against Corypheus and I will be an ambassador. I'm an elf standing for Thedas. The Inquisition is for all.'
Here Lies the Abyss: Recruited Jana. Cleared all the siege points at the battlements, had Hawke protect the troops and thus stay behind to hold the battlements. Convinced some of the Grey Wardens not to fight. Completed all five riddles in the Fears of the Dreamers quest. Decided that Stroud would be the one to remain in the Fade, and had the Wardens join the Inquisition.
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: She had Florianne arrested at the conclusion, sparing everyone further bloodshed. Celene and Briala were reunited. Gaspard was executed. What Pride Had Wrought: All the temple rituals were performed and an alliance with Abelas was accepted. Morrigan drank from the Well of Sorrows. (Danae came close to drinking it herself, but Morrigan persuaded her out of it by reminding her that as Inquisitor, she couldn't afford to take that risk.)
The Final Piece: Flemeth encounter happens in the Fade, and Danae responded positively/politely to her.
Leliana was supported as Divine.
Inner Circle (Only listing those with any real decision to be made, though it can be assumed she has completed all others.)
Promise of Destruction: Encouraged Cassandra to rebuild the Seekers.
All New, Faded for Her: Freed the spirit, got Solas to stand down and not murder the mages responsible for the binding.
The Verchiel March: Harmond was made to work for the Inquisition, though Danae supported Sera back at Skyhold.
Revelations: Ordered the advisors to find a way to release Blackwall, decided on Josephine's method (a special dispensation from the Orlesian throne), allowing Blackwall to be transferred to Inquisition custody. Her Skyhold judgment was to free Blackwall to atone for his crime.
Demands of the Qun: Told Iron Bull to order his men to retreat, betraying the Ben-Hassrath and making him Tal-Vashoth, but saving the Chargers.
The Forgotten Boy: Told Cole to give the suffering man a chance, and then recruited him.
Subjected to His Will: Allowed Varric to help Cole work through his anger, becoming more human as a result.
Last Resort of Good Men: She told Dorian about the letter, and encouraged him to speak with his father in Redcliffe.
Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune: Spared the assassin in Val Royeaux. She agreed to Josephine's request to help restore the Du Paraquettes as nobles in order to annul the contract with the House of Repose.
Perseverance: She encouraged Cullen to keep fighting his addiction, turning him back toward recovery.
Before the Dawn: (Raided the quarry/reclaimed Emprise du Lion beforehand.) Completed, used Dagna's rune to destroy Samson's armor in the Arbor Wilds. Insisted on Maddox being given a funeral.
The Left Hand of the Divine: She was able to convince Leliana not to kill Sister Natalie.
Bring Me the Heart of Snow White: Brought Vivienne the specific wyvern heart requested.
Jaws of Hakkon Discovered and met Ameridan The dragon was slain Earned a legend-mark from the Avvar Shared the truth
Trespasser Married Cullen, with Dalish vows. Joined the Friends of Red Jenny. Freed the dragon. Vowed to redeem Solas, if at all possible. Disbands the Inquisition.
Due to completing Contact Clan Lavellan using Josephine, Protect Clan Lavellan and the subsequent mission chain came into play after reaching Skyhold. Matters were resolved in Protect Clan Lavellan and Wycome, and Clan Lavellan was saved. All companion-related missions (such as Red Jenny stuff, Hard in Hightown) completed.
Skyhold judgments
Was largely merciful in her judgments, Erimond and his execution being the exception.
Inquistion focus: Connections
Its web of influence is felt in every hall. Through diplomacy and the trading of favors, it has gathered the power to shake kingdoms.
Korrin Adaar Class: Mage (Rift Mage) Romance: Josephine
The Wrath of Heaven: She chose to charge with the soldiers, believing there was no time for anything else. Denied being chosen by Andraste.
In Hushed Whispers: She chose to form an alliance with the mages.
In Your Heart Shall Burn: Managed to help Harritt and rescued all the townspeople. She also confirmed her belief in a conversation with Mother Giselle, though expressed disappointment in its extremes. ("Fanatical belief is to blame.")
"With fear running rampant, they need to see a mage standing for what is right."
Here Lies the Abyss: Recruited Jana as an agent, Stroud was the Grey Warden contact. Cleared all the siege points at the battlements, had Hawke join the party to help them cut a path to Clarel. Convinced some of the Grey Wardens not to fight. Decided that Hawke would be the one to remain in the Fade, and had the Wardens join the Inquisition.
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: Fought and killed Florianne at the conclusion. Celene was supported and saved, reunited with Briala. (Alt. Allowed Celene to be assassinated, Gaspard rules with Briala pulling the strings.)
What Pride Had Wrought: Did not do the rituals at the temple. Morrigan drank from the Well of Sorrows. (Korrin would have destroyed it, but was persuaded out of doing so.)
The Final Piece: Flemeth encounter happens in the Fade.
Leliana was supported as Divine.
Promise of Destruction: Left the fate of the Seekers up to Cassandra.
All New, Faded for Her: Freed the spirit, allowed Solas to kill the mages responsible for the binding.
The Verchiel March: Allowed Sera to kill Lord Harmond, supported her back at Skyhold.
Revelations: Ordered the advisors to find a way to release Blackwall, went with Josephine's method (a special dispensation from the Orlesian throne), allowing Blackwall to be transferred to Inquisition custody. Her Skyhold judgment was to give him over to the Grey Wardens after the defeat of Corypheus.
Demands of the Qun: Told Iron Bull to order his men to retreat, betraying the Ben-Hassrath and making him Tal-Vashoth, but saving the Chargers.
The Forgotten Boy: Allowed Cole to end the wounded's suffering, and then recruited him.
Subjected to His Will: Allowed Varric to help Cole work through his anger, becoming more human as a result.
Last Resort of Good Men: She told Dorian about the letter, did not encourage him to reconcile with his father.
Bring Me the Heart of Snow White: Brought Vivienne the specific wyvern heart requested.
Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune: The assassin in Val Royeaux is spared (only because she feared Josephine getting hurt in the fallout). She sent Leliana's agents to the House of Repose to destroy the original contract against Josephine's family.
Perseverance: She encouraged Cullen to keep fighting his addiction, turning him back toward recovery.
Before the Dawn:(Raided the quarry/reclaimed Emprise du Lion beforehand.) Completed, used Dagna's rune to destroy Samson's armor in the Arbor Wilds. Insisted on Maddox being given a funeral.
The Left Hand of the Divine: Leliana was steeled. (Korrin couldn't stop her from killing Sister Natalie.)
Skyhold judgments
Was more of a recruiting judge, putting people to use.
Trespasser Joined the Friends of Red Jenny Vowed to stop Solas, even if it means killing him Saved the dragon Keeps the Inquisition as Divine Victoria's personal guard/peacekeeping force.
Inquisition focus: Forces
Its military might has grown, now rivaling that of kingdoms. Fear of the Inquisition's army has become the true source of its power.Yeah I don't really either I just treat whatever playthrough I have on the go at that time as my canon one. So fo example if the game came tomorrow it's not I know that I'm just using this as an example then my current warden would be the warden I'd carry through and the same would go for my next Hawke and Inquisitor.

Lavellan, because *to me* DAI is an elven game. It would feel wrong not to have the canon Inquisitor be someone who has a reason to care about all these revelations.

Third time is a charm! It's me again, filling in more space in this thread. I have finally ironed out all of my information and choices (and other customs), and need to present a new, ultimate, set-in-stone, canon Inquisitor to take forward.
Female Dwarf, Nice in words and speech (often underestimated), but ruthless in judgment and action Dual Wielding Jill-of-all-Trades Artificer (uses axes with aoe focus, wears heavy armor, magical masterworks, Deft Hands...) Romances Josephine, then Iron Bull dedicated Carta trader and thug, does not believe in Andraste or being the Herald
Companions: Cassandra-friends, rebuilds Seekers Solas-Must Be Stopped! Varric-friends, tracks leak to Bianca Sera-doesn't recruit Vivienne-close friends and allies, help eachother consolidate power, helps with potion, Divine Iron Bull-friends and lovers, saves Chargers and becomes Tal-Vashoth Blackwall-friendly, but executed in Val Royeaux Cole-friends with her favorite magical assassin/lackey, push to focus on spirit identity Dorian-friends, doesn't forgive father
Advisors: Leliana-encourages murderous solutions. Watch out for steeled Leliana! Cullen-orders to continue his Lyrium ingestion until conflict is over Josephine-favors are done to restore her family (still kill the messenger, and seduce the noble...)
Sides with Templars, and the order is restored with Ser Barris Gaspard is a puppet of Briala's rule Grey Wardens banished after Stroud sacrifices himself Inquisitor kills Calpernia and gains more strange magical power from the Well of Sorrows Disbands Inquisition due to security threats, starts working in the shadows

always play as human male ( just as in ME ). Last time , with a mod he romanced Cullen, which is hilarious because in the cutscenes he goes from bro style to super campy .
Whether as Archer , Mage or two swords warrior is undecided.
Decisions have changed on just about every playthrough but i tend to keep everybody , save Celene ( and when possible i send Florianne to forced labor, how drole)
I prefer disbanding the Inquisition as advised by Leliana , and have mixed feelings about Solas who totally used everyone but had a quest way beyond our understanding.
Anyone can become Divine as far as i care though i have not tried Vivienne while playing a Mage. What's her attitude post Trespasser is i disband or if i keep the Inquisition.
Anyway, who knows how all that stuff will impact DA4.

OK I'll bite.
Kara Trevelyan: Race-Human (probably a no brainer) Class- Rogue/Archer/Assassin Gender- Female.
Personality: Tends to be a bit on the sarcastic side but mildly so when dealing with people. Otherwise has a fair mix of options no matter what the situation calls for. Can be aggressive when she needs to be and is a 'woman of practical action' often doing the machivellian thing if she needs to. Chaotic Good. Distrusts nobility and her own power but also sees little choice in exercising it at present. Has gotten over her issues with the Chantry/ Andrastians. Tends to cast a wide net in recruiting efforts.
Founding principle: Stop Corypheus. Long term objectives: Reform Thedas quietly to make it a more peaceful/ just/ free society.
Big decisions: Disabanded the Templars Allied with the wardens. Assasinated Celene, Briala rules through Gaspard. Did not ally with the sentinels, drank from the Well Divine Cass. Redeem Solas Married the Inquisition to Divine Victoria.
Comps: Cass encouraged to restart Seekers. Dorian did not reconcile. Cole made more human. Blackwall servs Inq as Thom Ranier. Viv given real heart. Leiliana hardened. Cullen no longer taking Lyrium. House of repose contract destroyed. Saved the Chargers Helped Solas's friend.

My "canon" Lavellan was intentionally designed not to be the stereotypical mage-halla who is hunted by the Dread Wolf. Instead, she is an ambitious, determined (even a bit ruthless), and forward-thinking Artificer/technologist Rogue who seeks to overturn much of the traditional structures of Thedas and help not just her people, but everyone. She's also a bit of a humanboo who takes a keen interest in human affairs. She and Cullen went well together due to their shared determination and more awkward private personality aspects, and the fact that they likely spent hours and hours together leading the Inquisition. The full sheet:
Ellana Lavellan: Race-Elf Class-Rogue/Archer/Artificer Gender-Female
Major Decisions: - Was skeptical of her title as "Herald." - Allied with the Mages - Declared the Inquisition for herself ("an elf will stand for us all") - Allied with the Wardens with Alistair as their leader and left Hawke in the Fade - Forced Celene, Gaspard, and Briala to come to a truce, partially because she's fed up with both leaders - Let Morrigan drink from the Well - Made Softened Leliana Divine - Chose to save Solas - Kept the Inquisition alive as a peacekeeping force in preparation for the Dread Wolf Rises.
Companion Choices: - Mostly friendly, with the exception of Vivienne - Romanced Cullen and helped him in overcoming his lyrium addiction - Freed Solas's friend but let the mages go - Cole more human - Dorian reconciled with his father - Varric uncovered the red lyruim soruce - Cassandra did not rebuild the Seekers, instead dedicating herself fully to the Inquisition - Blackwall made a Grey Warden - Sera killed Harmond mid-sentence, without the Inquisitor's approval - Iron Bull saved the Chargers - Vivian gave her the heart - Josephine restored her name by doing favors - Leliana was softened

Impossible to have a Canon Inquisitor. Dragon Age to me is a game about multiple universes or realities.
Kaaras Adaar: Cassandra romanced, Inquisition pledged to Divine Vivienne, Templars conscripted. Wardens Banished. Hawke survives. Servant of Mythal. Gaspard is Emperor.
Ellana Lavellan: Romanced Solas, Inquisition pledged to Divine Leliana (Steeled), Circle conscripted. Wardens conscripted. Hawke survives. Servant of Mythal. Briala rules through Gaspard.
Maxwell Trevelyan: Romanced Josephine, Inquisition disbands, Divine Cassandra, Templar allies and then all became Seekers. Wardens Preserved. Alistair survives. Morrigan serves Flemeth. Celene rules alongside Gaspard and Briala.
Malika Cadash: Romanced Iron Bull [lulz], Inquisition disbands, Divine Leliana (Inspired), Circle allies, Wardens Banished, Loghain survives. Morrigan serves Flemeth. Celene rules alone, Gaspard/Briala executed.

Ouch! This is my fourth entry, so sorry for taking up so much space. I was going to put it off, but decided to sit down and play out my revisions. As I started gearing up, my misfire with the Dalish in Origins, and a preference for variety guided me towards joining the Lavellan crowd. I am mildly concerned that the exposed truth, or story events, may preclude us from having this kind of Dalish Elf again. Plus, I always imagined a female Dalish as the best fit for The Iron Bull. So, without further ado, here is my final, FINAL, canon Inquisitor finally (though I actually haven't finished the playthrough yet, so some of the companion relationships may turn out differently than I expect).
Female Dalish Elf, Nice in words and speech (often underestimated), but ruthless in judgment and action Axe + Shield Jill-of-all-Trades Templar (focus on critical chance & damage, some flanking bonuses, NON-heavy armors, and rogue abilities for Masterwork enchantments on gear) Romances Cullen, then Iron Bull skilled hunter, and spy (specifically groomed for this task by the Keeper) for Clan Lavellan; does not worship Andraste, or believe in being the Herald; worships the Creators; doesn't seek to change other people's belief systems, tolerates the existing framework with a hint of reform
Companions: Cassandra-friends, rebuilds Seekers Solas-initially friends but...Must Be Stopped! Varric-friends, tracks leak to Bianca Sera-doesn't recruit Vivienne-close friends and allies, help each other with their respective positions, helps with potion, Divine Iron Bull-friends and lovers, saves Chargers and becomes Tal-Vashoth Blackwall-friendly, but executed in Val Royeaux Cole-friends with unique magical individual, push to focus on spirit identity Dorian-late friends (doesn't give him a chance until much later), doesn't forgive father
Advisors: Leliana-encourages murderous solutions. Watch out for steeled Leliana! Cullen-orders to continue his Lyrium ingestion until conflict is over Josephine-contract is destroyed (but messenger is allowed to leave)
Sides with Templars, and the order is restored with Ser Barris Celene rules after reconciling with Briala, Gaspard is executed Grey Wardens banished after Stroud sacrifices himself Inquisitor kills Calpernia and gains more strange magical Elven power from the Well of Sorrows Disbands Inquisition due to security threats, starts working in the shadows

My first playthrough without any meta knowledge is pretty much always my canon. Not that I expect him to be more than a codex entry or war table quest giver or similarly not physically appearing entity, but here goes: Sigurd Trevelyan, warrior turned Templar through inspiration by Cassandra.
Decisions, decisions: - Embraced the title of Herald. "My faith is my shield." - Allied with the templars. "The flood of demons will be banished with righteous fury." - Declared the Inquisition to stand for order and stability. - Allied with the Wardens. "Every warden sacrifices to fight the darkspawn, and so every warden deserves a second chance." - Made Celene, Gaspard and Briala work together. "Truth be told, I care little about who rules that carnival. I was there to send a message that there won't be any assassinations on my watch. All three of them seem pretty terrible people, so here's hope that they'll annoy each other for many years to come. Heh." - Left Stroud in the fade. "I have heard how most Grey Wardens go out, and this seemed a kinder way. May he have found a warrior's end." - Let Calpernia go. "Someone has to come home and tell the story." - Let Morrigan drink from the well. "I don't think she should have done it, and there was no way I was taking a sip from water with unknown magical properties." - Decided to redeem Solas. "As terrible as your plan is, for old times sake I will try to talk you out of it. See reason. We did not save the world so you could break it in a different way. " - Disbanded the Inquisition on a positive note. "Ladies, gentlemen, it was an honour to serve by your side. By your service, the world has become a better and safer place. Now go home to your families and enjoy the well earned fruit of your labour. I will remember and miss you. Godspeed."
Friends and companions: - Friendly with everyone. "We have a world to save, there is no room for animosity." - Romanced Cassandra - Cassandra became Divine Victoria and also rebuilt the seekers - Leliana remained Princess Stabbity. "I regret it in retrospect, but back then I did not think it was my place to tell her how to do her job." - Cullen overcame his lyrium addiction and walked into the sunset with his mabari. "When the time comes, I hope I will be as strong as you, my friend." - Blackwall was made a Warden. - Cole became more human. "I can't say I felt comfortable about a spirit that thrives on other people feeling awful so he can help them..." - Dorian and his father hopefully mended their relationship. - Helped Varric with all those red lyrium related problems. - Had funny conversations on a roof with Sera, despite her cracking that noble's head. - Saved the Chargers and made Iron Bull Tal-Vashoth in the process. "Never leave your own men and women behind. And if those ox-men brought their most flammable ship against a bunch of magic flinging Vints, that's on them." - Helped Vivienne with the wyvern's heart. "This is what friends are for." - Solved Josephine's problem through diplomacy despite an itch to be rather blunt about it. - Listened to all of Solas's stories. "How often do you get to talk to someone so much older than yourself? Never miss an opportunity to learn."

my Cannon Inquisitor
Inquisitor: Eyla Lavellen Class: Rouge (Archer build) LI : Solas Best Buds: Dorian, Cole she got along well with almost everyone in the group...with the exception of Sara. ( she found her infatuating to deal with.)
- Sided with the Mages made them equal in the Inquistion
- Briala rules though Gaspard Celene is dead (she felt guilty about it though)
- Banished the Grey Wardens Hawke stayed, Alistair is with the Wardens
- drank form the well of Sorrows Abalas lives, Morrigan disapproves, Samson survived.
Tresspasser DLC Disbanded the Inquisistion vowed to try and redeem Solas
the reason this is my cannon is because, I felt it made sense. in both a story telling aspect and just fun way. romancing Solas adds a bittersweet feel to the overall plot. Yes, Corphifish is defeated, the breach is closed, and the Inquisition has become a respectable force in Thedas. but her lover is not only gone, but has plans she can't even comprehend. It makes for an intregeing lead in for DA4.

Conner (Keldar for fanfic reasons ) Lavellan; Assassin Swords-elf. (chose this spec to end fights quickly, cleanly, and with a minimum of suffering) Joined the Inquisition because he could see the necessity. Averagely Dalish religiously. Fell in love with Cassandra, and was good friends with and supported all the inner circle (even Sera, eventually) except for Vivienne and later Solas (for obvious reasons). Cassandra rebuilds the Seekers (with the headcanon that Conner himself joins their ranks after Trespasser to give himself an edge in the coming war; but released by a spirit of Hope instead of Faith) Iron Bull embraces his chargers and nature as a Vashoth, a True Grey One. Dorian is able to forgive his father once Halward's regret is genuinely demonstrated. Sera is able to accept the recruitment/entrapment of Harmond and offers Conner a place among the Jennies. Varric of course becomes Viscount and establishes the legitimacy of Clan Lavellan as a quasi-noble house in the Free Marches, both Kirkwall and Wycombe. Vivienne is given the correct heart, but due to her manipulations is put on SEVERE probation for the rest of the game. Ranier is spared his execution for his contributions to the Inquisition and is given the chance to atone with the Grey Wardens. Cole is encouraged to grow and accept the change into a more mortal being, and finds connection and friendship where otherwise he was content being forgotten. Solas continues his self-destructive path of guilt and delusion DESPITE knowing full well how real Conner and everyone else truly are. Conner. Not. HAPPY. Cullen is able-with Conner's full support- to throw off his Lyrium addiction, and aid in the shattered remains of his order's efforts to do the same. Leliana is able to regain her optimism and hope in the face of the false necessities of the game, becoming a just but crafty Divine Victoria. Josephine and her family are protected from the House of Repose by Conner and Leliana's intervention, granting her respect in both Orlais and Antiva. Favored the Mages because they were in essence a civilian population under threat by an extremist paramilitary. (In his opinion) Accepted the nomination to Inquisitor to champion the good of the common people, no matter their creed. Recruited/delegated most judgements. Saved Hawke and kept the Wardens' around to prevent future disasters. Favored the common folk in most decision making. Reunited Celene and Briala at the ball. Supported Leliana's bid for the seat of Divine. Spared the elves at the Temple of Mythal and let Morrigan drink from the Well of Sorrows (he's read the stories; he knows EXACTLY the kind of price this power would exact and he wants NONE of it) Restructured the Inquisition into a small crisis response unit under Divine Victoria to combat Fen'Harel's resurgence and (hopefully) save his former friend and mentor from himself. Coming off of a Cousland Warden who helped raise Kieran with his wife Morrigan, and a snarky-ass mage Hawke, this felt like it fit the most with the themes that Conner (who I also played the Dalish Origin with and a heavily modified rogue Hawke with previously) as a character would contribute to. He's connected to the elvhen lore that features heavily in the setting now, has been moderately successful in changing Thedas for the better (again hopefully) in regards to the Mage and Elven plights, and even without a romance with Solas feels a deep personal connection with and stakes in the future fight.

All three of my Inquisitor's are canon I guess. In DA:O I had three main playthroughs which I have since carried into the next two games. So I have three DA:4 playthroughs lined up for when it comes out. A mostly good character, a mostly evil one and a do whatever I feel is right character.

Honestly not sure, my absolute favorite version of the DAI story is my Dalish Mage but there is no possible canon World State that's in-character for her.
Adhal Lavellan Class: Rift Mage, otherwise focused on Frost, Spirit and Storm magic (still knows a Fire spell or 2)
The Wrath of Heaven: Took the mountain path. Denied being chosen by Andraste.
In Hushed Whispers: Allied with the mages because she believes they should all be free
In Your Heart Shall Burn: Bought time by questioning Corypheus about what he is and what he wants to do (she was legit curious too)
Here Lies the Abyss: Stroud was the Grey Warden contact. Cleared all the siege points at the battlements, told Hawke to protect the soldiers. Convinced some of the Grey Wardens not to fight. Let Stroud sacrifice himself as he wanted. Banished the Wardens in case Corypheus controlled them again some other way, though she intended it as temporary until Corypheus was defeated.
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: Allowed Celene to die and installed Briala as the shadow-Empress via Gaspard. On the surface this is a frankensteined solution mistakenly put together because a forest-dweller was asked to make a continent-affecting political decision. In actuality Adhal is better informed and socially cleverer than she seems and letting Celene die was punishment for burning an alienage populated by 1000s simply for public appearances, and blackmailing Gaspard into being Briala's puppet is ironic punishment for being super racist. Plus she knows a blackmailed Emperor passing pro-elf laws will ultimately destabilize Orlais, this also good in her book.
What Pride Had Wrought: Followed all the rituals at the Temple of Mythal. Drank from the Well of Sorrows. She saw the 'price' as really no price at all, since Mythal is one of the Creators she worships, the nice one at that, she would gladly follow her word bound or not. Plus this is a mass of actual ancient knowledge of her people, no way she's passing on that.
Supported Leliana as Divine. She openly supported freedom for mages and was open to all races. Whereas Cassandra insults her culture to her face and low-key defended Tranquility. And Vivienne...she's Vivienne.
Revelations: Never got much approval for Blackwall (pretty sure he didn't like her actually)
Demands of the Qun: Never got approval high enough to get the quest. She drank to dragon slaying with him and met the Chargers though.
The Forgotten Boy: Allowed Cole to end the wounded's suffering, and then recruited him.
Subjected to His Will: Made Cole more spirit-like
Last Resort of Good Men: She told Dorian about the letter, encouraged him to at least talk with his father.
Bring Me the Heart of Snow White: Didn't help Vivienne
Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune: Let Josephine deal with her problem her own way, helped elevate the DuParaquettes
Perseverance: Told Cullen he didn't need lyrium
The Left Hand of the Divine: Leliana hardened, no reason to spare a corrupt chantry shem, plus it's Leliana's business
Trespasser Was given a Comtesse title in Kirkwall and the Key to the City Set Ataashi free Disbanded the Inquisition
Over the course of the game she became more and more disillusioned and tired of the world, feels betrayed when even people she considered nice turn out to have ingrained racism or disrespect for her culture, and broken by revelation upon revelation that her culture gets so much wrong. So in the end she agrees with Solas' plan, and in my headcanon she argues against his refusal to let her join until he concedes.
This probably totally won't fit with DA4 but it's so much better as a dalish mage imo. The Anchor is the brand of elven god, your main base is where the Veil was made, you pledge yourself to one of your gods while gaining a literal pool of ancient knowledge about your people, the main villain and your rival is an ancient tevinter magister, the exact kind of person who leeched off and destroyed your people, who's a racist asshole usurping your people's ancient magic. A dalish is the Inquisitor who has the most reason to hate Corypheus and defeating him as an elf is massive poetic justice.

Hello, me again. I'm sure glad I sat down and played my crafted character before committing to my canon.
Amusingly enough, I got all the way through the base game with my triple hybrid concept on hard, when I had some issues surviving the Darkspawn gauntlet and Guardian in Descent. I messed around with my build and equipment quite a bit, and was blindsided, and became enamored of some of the two-handed maul models. I grew to become so attached to the Masterwork Dwarven Maul and Sata-Kas Iss, that I restructured my Dalish Inquisitor into a two-handed Templar tank. During said process, she also changed personalities (now charming, witty, and funny in addition to harsh judgments amd decisions; she mirrors Iron Bull even more now), and her romance progression is Blackwall to Iron Bull instead of starting with Cullen. I find nothing wrong with Cullen, I just prefer Blackwall as a character. Also, having romanced Blackwall, I enjoy the additional pertinent dialogue in Val Royeaux before my Inquisitor leaves him to be executed.
So, there you have it. I choose what I enjoy the most, what creates the story I prefer, and what provides the most character variety.

I have done away with the idea of canon out of sheer frustration, and now I have, like... six world states plotted out in the Keep that all tickle my fancy in different ways and allow for maximum wiggle room going into DA4. 😛

been working on a "canon" for years now, every once in a while another idea rears it's head and makes me rethink the entire world state I've more or less given up on making a canon as well, much like vertigomez out of sheer frustration however I do have two Inquisitors who I plan on taking along in their respective world states Tylaera Lavellan; elf female, Mage (Rift Mage), romancing Cullen Malak Adaar; qunari male, Mage (Knight-Enchanter), romancing Cassandra
they more or less follow the same story line, with some differences here and there a few of the differences include;
Tylaera: - non believer (Dalish religion)
- Leliana as Divine (softened/inspired)
- Sides with the mages (allies) - Declares Inquisition for Order
- Briala + Celene as rulers of Orlais - Morrigan drank from the well, sides with Sentinels
- Stroud was sacrificed in the Fade, Wardens allied - Disbands the Inquisition, redeem Solas
Malak: - believer - Vivienne as Divine (friendly)
- Sides with the templars (allies) - Declares Inquisition for the Player (Corypheus must be stopped) - Three-way "peace" in Orlais - Morrigan drank from the well, sides with Sentinels (same as Tylaera) - Loghain was sacrificed in the Fade, Wardens allied - Peacekeeping force, redeem Solas

Everyone is probably tired of all of my revisions, redactions, and reviews, but here I am again to alter the course. I was recently remarking to someone about how I like to have my straight characters occupy the races with greater physiological differences (and only gay humans...after I already had at least one straight...), and I noticed that my stable of straight female characters was almost entirely made up of humans or human-lite. The easiest way for me to correct this is to take my Inquisitor, and swap her back to a female dwarf (I love dwarves, so I need one of each. This opens my option in another place). I will also shift my love for those hammer models onto Mr. Bull, and will be more inclined to keep the shield JOAT build, since tower shields and swords look great on female dwarves.
So, here is my ultimate canon going forward (this character is slightly different than what I tried before, so a couple relationships might differ):
Female Dwarf, Nice & pleasant in most circumstances, charming with nobles, and aggressive to adversaries and the very stubborn; also, harsh in judgments Sword + Shield Jill-of-all-Trades Templar (focus on critical chance & damage, some flanking bonuses, NON-heavy armors, and rogue abilities for Masterwork enchantments on gear) Romances Blackwall, then Iron Bull skilled negotiator and killer; was formerly interested in taking over the crime family, seeks to expand her power base; does not worship Andraste, or believe in being the Herald; doesn't seek to change other people's belief systems, and tolerates the existing framework
Companions: Cassandra-friends, rebuilds Seekers Solas-initially friends but...Must Be Stopped! Varric-friends, tracks leak to Bianca Sera-doesn't recruit Vivienne-close friends and allies, help each other with their respective positions, helps with potion, Divine Iron Bull-friends and lovers, saves Chargers and becomes Tal-Vashoth Blackwall-friendly, but executed in Val Royeaux Cole-friends with unique and highly useful magical assassin, push to focus on spirit identity Dorian-friends, doesn't forgive father
Advisors: Leliana-encourages murderous solutions. Watch out for steeled Leliana! Cullen-orders to continue his Lyrium ingestion Josephine-contract is destroyed (but messenger is allowed to leave)
Sides with Templars, and the order is restored with Ser Barris Undecided: Celene assassinated with Gaspard as puppet emperor, OR forced truce between bickering powers Grey Wardens banished after Stroud sacrifices himself Inquisitor kills Calpernia and gains more strange magical Elven power from the Well of Sorrows Disbands Inquisition due to security threats, starts working in the shadows

I thought I did one of these. Well, anyway:
Ghilan'athim (Ana) Lavellan A mage of considerable power, First of her clan, and an exemplar to all Dalish. Or so she thought...
Specialization: Rift Mage
Companions/Advisors: Friendly with everyone, though not because she likes everyone, but she figured making enemies wouldn't suit her cause. Solas, Dorian and Cole are about the only ones she would consider real friends. Varric is alright as well.
Romance: Solas. Fen'Harel. The Dread Wolf. Mythal's mercy, if her Keeper could see her now. She had ONE JOB. Protect her clan from the Dread Wolf's gaze. Instead, she went and fell in love with him. Nice going.
Divine: ALL HAIL MURDER POPE.
Loyalty Quests Dorian: Made nice with dad. Blackwall: Broke him out, he rejoined freely. Bull: Meet your newest Tal-Vashoth Cassandra: Goodbye Seekers Sera: Harmond forced to fork over his goods. Cole: The friendly Spirit Solas: Set Wisdom free. Varric: Scolded Bianca and moved on. Viv: Got her the creepy heart. Leliana: Steeled. Cullen: Off the red stuff. Josie: Leliana's agents took care of it.
Wrath of Haven: 'Chosen One'? Have you lost your minds? No. In Hushed Whispers: Allied with the mages. In Your Heart Shall Burn: Do it because it's right. Here Lies the Abyss: Stroud left in the Fade, Wardens exiled. Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts: Guess what shems, an elf now rules Orlais. What Pride had Wrought: Allied with the Sentinels, and no way was that haughty witch taking the elvhen Well, thank you.
The Descent: Done Jaws of Hakkon: Did that too. Damned Avvar god-dragon gave Inky a nasty scar for her troubles. The revelations about Ameriden really messed with her head, and she was not at her best for that fight. Trespasser: Disbanded the Inquisition. Something she wanted to do the instant Corypheus was dead. She is so done with these shems and their nonsense, and with everything that she learned about everything, she would have thrown herself at Solas's feet and begged him to take her with him, had she been given the opportunity. As it is, she is determined to save him from himself.
All said and done, her ultimate goal was to tear apart the status quo by dismantling every powerful organization she could get her sneaky little claws into. Her hope was that the humans would be so busy trying to pick up the pieces in her wake, they wouldn't have time to mess with the elves.
Now she has cast her gaze to Fen'Harel, and she hunts.

-charming, witty, and sarcastic in most instances; occasional diplomacy in favorite subjects, or aggression in doling out judgment. Advisors: Josephine-contract is destroyed, AND messenger is killed. Briala reconnects with a ruling Celene I want to finish my Greedfall run, but I may test the waters of my new canon Inquisitor soon. Or simply wait until the next game is closer, and do a trilogy run. I was hanging out in my canon headspace, and found I wanted to expand on my variety, and simply took a few steps back. The canon is just whatever best story I enjoy the most, along with the combinations of variety and character beats.
UPDATE: Ultimately I chose to keep the previously mentioned story choices, but with a different character choice.
Female Qunari: support-oriented Mage Necromancer (uses all spec., barring using Mark for focus, plus Barrier, Dispel, Revival, and a non-damaging ice spell) skilled negotiator with majority of jobs sourced from Orlesian nobles; doesn't care about power and influence, but not afraid to get hands dirty with diplomacy and spycraft to restore some semblance order; does not worship Andraste, or believe in being the Herald; doesn't seek to change other people's belief systems, and tolerates the existing framework (with a minor push towards less mage discrimination)
