Yeah me too. I'll be sure to do that next time I'll go through the game.
The moment I saw "Odd Mechanic" I got flashbacks to a certain Fallout quest and my alarm went off.
It was totally worth it just for the
JC A Bomb!
A BOMB!
moment.

As I said before, I not only have good enough performance to play without issues but I'm streaming at the same time at 1080p and 60fps using OBS with NVENC set to 3500KBps and High Quality preset. My hardware is definitely not new, with a CPU that is now more than 5 years old (going for 6 in a few months) and a GPU that has been released in 2014 and was not even top of the line at the time. Unfortunately I've been spoiled by my monitors. I know you don't need high FPS for a lot of games but now anything under 60 FPS looks like a stuttering slideshow to me. It's the same reason I refuse to watch movies or anime on these monitors because they simply look terrible (even with the blur reduction turned off).

I thought I'd play through Human Revolution again before getting the new one. This happened... Like this? I have more of those, this one is the most, ehm, explicit? Apparently those mercs have too much free time on their hands. Or something.

Oh wow. Watching stream. DEMD has key assignments that is frustrating. It's bad when the player is attempting stealth KO and hide the body within a time frame. It also doesn't help when it glitches; like a KO guard inexplicably "jumping up" into the LOS of a security camera. Bang. Red Alert. A.I. is also not consistent. Also heard about in-game micro-transactions for the first time. Really?

This is what I like to see in a Human Revolution playthrough: Last time I played it, I did it on first try without even trying. Nonlethal, all melee takedowns, just pop cloak and rush from one enemy to the next, emp nade bot as soon as it deploys and it's "Anytime, flygirl."

On my first PT, I had foolishly not upgraded my cloak at that point. It took me many tries. This time, I messed up once as I took too long to find the last sniper. Managed it second time.

I passed Mankind Divided in the wee hours of this morning. It was a very satisfying game, I'm looking forward to a sequel (I assume there's a sequel in the pipeline, because the final act of the game could have easily been the halfway mark of a longer game) and I already have a new game plus running since for all my obsessive efforts, once again I didn't get The Foxiest of the Hounds. Some people say what happened was a bug, others say it's scripted, and I don't know who to believe...and I don't have an appropriate save file to revert to in order to quickly find out. Simultaneously, I am seriously considering firing up a permadeath playthrough just for giggles, to see how far I can get. Because when I think about it, I was playing on "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty and I only ever died in two ways: 1) I was doing something stupid (like precariously and unnecessarily jumping on boxes over an electrified field, or going into a gassed area without enough re-breather energy), or 2) I was experimenting because I wasn't 100% sure what to do (namely, figuring out how to perform a non-lethal takedown on a certain boss). Well, now that my experimenting is out of the way and I know what works in x situation and what doesn't, I figure I can for the most part avoid doing stupid stuff. We shall see. I've never played a permadeath game before, so I may wind up eating my overconfident words.

After a hilarious first attempt at permadeath mode ended after 20-30 minutes with me accidentally jumping straight into the helicopter's rotor in Dubai (really), I tried again and have made it through Saving Allison Stanek . That was the one part I was really worried about since that place is tight quarters, four stories, lots of guards, and booby-trapped. But it's done, and now the only part I am worried about is the theater in Dvali territory. Except, on my first playthrough there were like a couple of dozen thugs and civilians in there...and on my second playthrough, the place was completely depopulated, so I don't know what to expect this time.

I was just about to post this video, puts it all in a bad light. Poor Eidos Montreal. It actually confirmed what I felt while playing. The quality is extremely high, but the microtransactions and Breach mode felt like 5 minutes addition immediately (especially because they were totally missing in interviews and promotional material), and the fact that some content has been cut to make the game more like an episode is another sign of higher ups trying to milk a good game as much as possible. They are talented enough that if they somehow went independent and needed to use Kickstarter to fund new games, they would get all the support needed. Even if it means no more Deus Ex, they could still make a similar game with an original story!

It confirms my fears about and makes me stubborn about how much I'm willing to eventually pay for it. Squeenix don't seem to realise that they're killing an amazing brand by fucking it up so spectacularly. They'll have no good will left at all. Imagine being a dev working on DE:HR and DE:MD. So disheartening. We all give EA and BioWare a load of shit but they're nowhere near as bad.

Just started Mankind Divided yesterday. Seems interesting enough so far, but are they deliberately obscuring the whole issue of Jensen's choice at the end of DXHR and proceeding as if it didn't have any effect on the next 2 years? I watched the whole recap video to see if they were canonizing an ending or were going to give us something akin to Genesis or The Keep, but it looked like they just presented it as if Jensen didn't do anything at Panchaea besides bringing the immediate situation under control.
(Though I guess we can assume that he didn't blow it up, given that he's still alive.)

Finished it. Human Revolution is better. And I guess Jensen is some kind of clone now? Sarif seems to imply something to that effect during the Mystery Augs side mission when he at the end says something to the effect of it being impossible that Adam Jensen would've had those new augs installed at any point. Note that he at that point specifically says "Adam Jensen" and not just "you", even though he's talking to Adam. And then there's The Harvester side mission which tells you about memories and entire personalities being implanted into another person's body. So I guess the actual Adam Jensen died at the end of HR, and now you're just the "new and improved Jensen" with all of the original's memories and personality implanted and set out into the wild to do what Adam Jensen would do naturally so that he eventually unwittingly leads the illuminati to Janus (and probably kills him).

Agreed. DX:MD is an enjoyable game, but it feels (and is, as it turns out) incomplete both as a game and a story. 3/4 of the game takes place in Prague or around, which feels wrong for a plot with world-spanning consequences, and the no-real-ending ending with its blatant sequel hook is disappointing. The new augmentations I found mostly superfluous for my stealth game (excepting only remote hacking), so I pretty much played in DX:HR style, which was quite satisfying in spite of the aforementioned flaws. Location design is very good again - a must for a DX game so this is a really big "very good" - on the local level but I missed going to different cities. London did not count since it was just one building that could've been anywhere. So....yes, a worthy addition to the series, but not nearly what it could've been (damned executive meddling). I'd rate it below DX and DXHR both. I could play DX and DXHR excessively (DXHR being the only game ever where I got all achievements) but I doubt I'll do the same with DXMD. And like you, I'm somewhat concerned about our protagonist, for pretty much the same reasons.

This week in things I missed in Deus Ex. I'm thinking Debeers and this new person Rand will play a large role going forward, more freedom without needing to worry about the overall timeline and all that.
